From the pictures you can guess the good one ( scallop....) duck was very tasty. Steak was very delicious and monkfish/ shrimp was a winner. I saw the reviews and got nervous but it was too late because we had been seated already :(. The blonde manager lady was rude to me, as soon as we walked in, it didn't seem like she wanted us to eat there. The silverware was dirty, the tables and seats were covered in old food, it really put me off from eating there. We ordered 2 huge pans of paella, one chicken and rabbit and the other seafood. Yuck. I had to ask her if the seafood was fresh and she said it was, but I don't think she was being honest. The shrimp tasted like it had been sitting on a fisherman's dock for weeks in the sun- it was inedible. The bread was good though!! :) The waiters did a good job with service, they were kind and funny. Very unfortunate about the food though.

Judging by the flocks of suits I saw, it seems popular with the business crowd, which makes sense. That said, it's a perfectly nice mid-range hotel, pretending to be upscale, with most of the right amenities, and decently updated rooms and very good service. The staff was great throughout, and while the rooms are generic and pretty spare, they are modern with a good layout and lots of space. Bathroom is a nice size, with a toilet and a bidet, and a walk in shower with decent water pressure. Amenities include dispensers with soap and shampoos...though no bathrobes or slippers. The breakfast buffet is nice and fresh, a good variety and the room it's in has a nice view. If you're staying on the Calle Menorca side of the hotel, you will get some traffic noise seeping in -- room soundproofing here isn't the best. We had a suite with a bedroom, living room bathroom. The window in the living room did not open but the one in the bedroom did. No USB outlets so we bought an electrical adapter with 3 USB plugs. They gave us 2 twin beds that were pushed together. The beds were very comfortable and firm. The water pressure was a bit low and the bath tub required you to raise your legs about 2 feet to enter. Not conducive for the elderly or handicapped. The entire suit had 1 trash can and no tissues. Pro Tip: The entrance has about 5 steps up so you need to use the elevator on the right side of the entrance to bring up your luggage. However, you need to enter the lobby and send the elevator down to the street level. Or you can ask the front desk clerk to help you with that. The staff at the front desk and restaurant were magnificent. A big shout out to Maria and Mariam in the lounge. Super friendly and professional. Each glass of wine comes with a tapas and the prices are very reasonable. Breakfast is $15/ person. Nothing special. Typical eggs, small array of hams and cheeses, some parries, bread and espresso/ coffee machines. I would save the $15 and spend it on better food outside the hotel. Overall very good experience. We would stay there again. Happy Traveling!!

Quick glance: +…read moregreat value for fab location + free wi-fi - centrally controlled air conditioning - tired carpets The hotel offers great value for the central location. It's literally across the road from Colon Metro station (exit at the end without escalator) and is a stone throw away from various buses, including the circular route that takes you around the old town of Valencia. The hotel is located on the main street full of shops which is great for those who want to do some shopping in Valencia, and it's walking distance from old town Valencia. The hotel has a small entrance and has an elevator to get you up to the rooms. Our room was comfortably clean but a little dated with tired carpet. The bathroom is big and clean and comes with a bath tub. The room we stayed in faces the main road filled with shops, so in the evenings our room wasn't in complete darkness despite our lights off and curtains drawn, although it wasn't a problem for us. Despite its central location, we did not find noise to be a problem. The one downside is that the air conditioning is centrally controlled in terms of temperature, so you can either have it at on or off setting and it tends to stay fairly warm through the night. On the bright side, there is free wi-fi offered by the hotel which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, Husa Llar makes a great and cheap base for those who want to explore Valencia for those who are not after five-star amenities.
