No no no!! We missed the reservation for the restaurant we were planning for, so we came here instead. I saw the reviews and got nervous but it was too late because we had been seated already :(. The blonde manager lady was rude to me, as soon as we walked in, it didn't seem like she wanted us to eat there. The silverware was dirty, the tables and seats were covered in old food, it really put me off from eating there. We ordered 2 huge pans of paella, one chicken and rabbit and the other seafood. Yuck. I had to ask her if the seafood was fresh and she said it was, but I don't think she was being honest. The shrimp tasted like it had been sitting on a fisherman's dock for weeks in the sun- it was inedible. The bread was good though!! :) The waiters did a good job with service, they were kind and funny. Very unfortunate about the food though. read more

Went for lunch just before the 2pm rush. Beautiful table with a beautiful view and really nice servers who were quite attentive and friendly. ...and yes am a tourist. It was the food I found underwhelming. I had the shrimp in garlic oil followed by the sea bass with veg. Shrimp was cooked fine but garlic oil/sauce has been superior elsewhere. Almost watery? Sea bass tasted fishy - unlike other seabass I have had on the trip. Vegetables were nicely done. Recommend other than these two dishes. Patrons were mostly local and were very happy with their food. I saw a lot of paella coming out. If you get there about 1:45 for lunch they will have time to be patient with you as a newbie/tourist. It's worth a try but don't order what I did. read more

Arguably the best paella in Valencia. Service was OK and could have made for a better experience. We started with Jamon and then moved in for paella. Really wanted the traditional paella but couldn't talk my co-worker into eating bunny. Settled for the Fulgente Puntillas. It was fabulous and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Most restaurants by the beach are tourist trap. The paella is OVERPRICED! They use frozen seafood and I can't taste any freshness at all I also ordered a seabass and cod fish. Honestly the fish and grill in LA is 2x tasteful and 1/2 of the total cost. Flies are frequent visitors and prepare to eat with them. read more

The food is okay at best, they are super slow, have to constantly remind what you ordered, a table next to us arrived aftee us, ordered the same thing (fried calamari) and got there's sooner. Theyll also charge you for everything, I am surprised I wasn't charged to use their napkins. It s a shame to greatly taint my first seafood experience in Valencia so much. I would never recommend this place and never go back. Save your money and go to a better place in Valencia. read more

TL;DR: Not the very best service, but good food. We were referred to this place by our hotel staff (no connection), and were just coming up north from some fabulous Andalusian food over the past 10 days. The new King of Spain had visited the restaurant, if such things matter to you - we saw the photograph as we left the restaurant. The place is classy and upscale. The food is very very good. The service - not rude, but high nosed maybe. We were traveling with two very tired kids - a 10 year old and a 6 year old and they were getting fidgety. The servers were not rude as is typical of most very high end places in such situations, but not the friendliest either. But then again, the food was excellent. read more

We had the El Coso special scrambled egg dish that was out of this world, the seafood paella (best ever and yes we had been eating paella almost every day), the orange juice (YES it's a must... I could have 2 glasses if I had more room), the grilled sole, the warm spinach salad (OMG), and the desserts (forgot which one we ordered but it was amazing!). We decided to skip the touristy La Pepica and were SO glad because El Coso really is not messing around. Whoever is back there in the kitchen really got it goin' on!!! Awful experience we were the first people here and our paella took atleast an hour and 45 minutes after them telling us it would take max 30. The food then proceeds to come and the rice is over cooked and crunchy and the seafood tasted like cardboard.DO NOT COME HERE I REPEAT DO NOT COME HEAR. This is by far the best restaurant on the beach, there are a few more appropriate for a lunchtime snack but if you want to try traditional foods, this is the place. Had the 3 course special for 25 euros, and was underwhelmed by both the main and dessert. The seafood paella was bland, almost as if it was made with packet rice... and the crème brulèe was stone cold and pre-made. I'd come for a wine... but nothing else. read more
