We ended up staying here twice throughout our trip. The location is very close to the train/transit area, which made it very easy to arrive and depart. There's also some decent food options nearby, you can find some great local spots. The lobby/garden area was stunning. Both rooms we had were clean and relatively spacious. For the price we paid, I wish they had better in room amenities. I did appreciate the large plush towels and extremely comfortable bedding, but I would have loved more toiletries. We took advantage of their "Memorable Moment" package were we did a 30-minute gondola ride and snacks in the kitchen. I wasn't generally impressed, the food was too unique for me and I didn't eat any of it. I would return if I'm back in Venice. read more

We stayed in Venice in late August for 3 days prior to an 11 day Adriatic cruise and we really loved this hotel. First of all , the location is perfect. In the west side of Venice close to the train station and many other Venetian venues. It was very quiet and peaceful here with the adjacent PAPADOPOLI GARDEN which we did walk through a couple of times. It isn't located in the middle of the heavy tourist traffics areas which was very nice. The room was very nice and in general and we were very happy with all the comfort and amenities. Like most off brand hotels, there were little quirks here and there but nothing really major and we were very happy with our stay. RESTAURANT: We did fine in the restaurant for breakfast which is utterly fantastic. The buffet presentation had just about everything you could imagine and it was all very fresh and weak prepared. One of the best we have had in years and we've been through many parts of Europe. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner. The menu seemed to be a bit exotic and we wanted to try some of the local restaurants which were excellent. The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice which includes an outdoor patio area facing the adjacent garden. We had breakfast out there one morning and it was wonderful. The weather was perfect. In the low 70s for outdoor dining in Venice. STAFF AND SERVICE: It really perplexes me how some of these other reviews bash the hotel staff. Every Staffer in this hotel and the restaurant was highly professional, courteous and accommodating from A-Z . We tipped them well and they deserved it. They never hesitated in any way to make all the guests comfortable and welcome. Again if you are staying in Venice elsewhere, you have to try the hotel breakfast. Unbelievable. In general, we would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again when visiting Venice. read more

RUN!!! Wish I could rate this hotel double negative! Boy! Where should I start. Upon arrival to our room, we immediately informed the bellhop that our room was hot; it was 27 degrees centigrade- 84 in Fahrenheit. He immediately informed the front desk and instructed for us to wait to cool down. Guess what? It never did! The bellhop showed us multiple rooms, but with the same temperature. Keep in mind that we were dealing on this matter close to midnight. We informed Fabio, the front desk manager, that the rooms were all HOT and this wouldn't work for us. He got angry and had the audacity of blaming us for agreeing to view different rooms. Fabio also informed us that we "can't transfer" to a different hotel. I tried to have a discussion with Fabio, but he was VERY rude and unprofessional to say the least. My wife immediately searched for another hotel for transfer. It's now past midnight and NO ONE from this hotel lift a finger to helped us. We carried our luggage by ourselves and looked for the hotel. We relied solely on our GPS as we walked through unlit and sketchy streets in the middle of the night.. We were afraid and scared for our safety. We booked this hotel and reported this matter through Costco. Don't rely and be fooled by the pictures on the internet. This hotel is old, dark and definitely required renovations. See attached!!!! An excellent hotel in Venice. Our room was comfortable yet small in comparison to American hotel rooms and decorated in an over-the-top luxurious Venetian style. It was a quiet room - we never heard any noise from either outside or from neighboring rooms. We had a little balcony that overlooked a small, lush park. Rooms include a small fridge and safe. Robes and slippers are provided as well as the usual bath amenities. Surprisingly, the bathroom had a 120 volt circuit that didn't need an adaptor. Complimentary water and cookies were on the room's desk upon our arrival. This hotel has a fantastic location, a very short walk from the train station and a 30 minute walk to Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. The staff at the desk were always helpful and polite, treating us like valued guests. Everyone spoke English. They gave great tips on where to go and how to get there, providing us with a map when we checked in. Housekeeping did a superb job and provided nightly treats (ie - chocolates left on the bed). There is a restaurant and bar next to the lobby. We had the breakfast buffet each morning (free with our stay) which had a variety of offerings (eggs, sausage, pastries, pancakes, meats & cheeses, fruits and veggies, coffee & juices...) all of which were excellent quality. I wasn't expecting the hotel to be as nice as it was and highly recommend it as an option if you are looking for a place to stay in Venice. read more

This is NOT a four star hotel by any means. The room itself would be 2.5 stars. Since I decided to switch hotels and only stayed one night, I cannot rate the other amenities offered. I just arrived here today from a wonderful stay in Rome and I'm very disappointed with this hotel. The room we are in is "a deluxe double room" and is considered "one of the best" rooms in the hotel as described by the front desk clerk. However, if this is one of the best rooms this hotel has to offer then I'd really hate to stay in the other rooms. The room is small, even by European standards. There is not much room for our luggage; we have 2 suitcases and two backpacks. The room is outdated and the carpet is just awful. I honestly don't even want to walk on it with my bare feet. The bathroom is small and there's not much room to put toiletries, such as toothbrushes, hair brushes, deodorant, etc. I feel like the website pictures of this room misrepresent what the room actually looks like. Also, since it's winter in Italy right now there is no AC. You can however open the windows to let the cool air in. However, be cautious of the pigeons trying to get in. Also, you cannot leave the windows open at night, for security reasons and the bird issue; so be prepared to sweat all night while you try to sleep as the room does get quite stuffy and hot. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel. For the price point that you pay for this hotel there are better options. Edited to add: The hotel offered us another room which looked almost the same as the room we were in, although the bathroom was slightly small. Once we were unable to receive adequate accommodation we found another hotel. The hotel was not even kind enough to refund half of the money we paid. We only stayed one night out of the four because it was just not up to the standard portrayed online. Again, choose another hotel. read more

Totally awesome hotel in Venezia, oh well, let's call it Venice, if you wish. Superb experience, and too bad we stayed there only one night. It is actually very convenient location, close to train station, vaporetto and bus station to go to Venice/Marco Polo airport. Very convenient, as there is no need to drag your luggage through the city, including bridges....))) We took train to Venice, and left on the plane the following day. Saved ourselves time and money, staying in Hotel Papadopoli. Impressive servive through and through, friendly, competent, and efficient. Appreciated complimentary Platinum Accor executive suite upgrade, the best room in hotel, with private terrace, outside hot tub/jacuzzi, and private elevator. Needless to say that suite was quite nice, tasteful, and spacious. The hotel public areas are nicely decorated, and atmospheric too. Nice bar with hood service. Expensive, of course, as everything in Venezia in the summer, but totally worth it. Special thank you to all staff that made our family stay special. This is an elegant hotel located within walking distance of the train station. This was a plus for us since we arrived on the train. However, it is a bit of a walk (or water taxi ride) to Piazza San Marco and everything to see in that area. Check out a map if that may be a concern for you. The hotel staff was outstanding. Helpful and friendly. They even helped us with the logistics of getting our "pre-flight" covid tests. We very much appreciated their help with restaurant recommendations, as well. They serve breakfast in a lovely room that has plants growing inside over the atrium ceiling. The buffet served an assortment of baked goods, cheese, fruit and hot dishes. The hot dishes weren't to my liking, but the baked goods were excellent. We had a "Superior Double" room. It was large enough for the 2 of us and well appointed. We had a small window with a view of the park next door. The housekeeping team does a nice job of prepping your room each day. We booked this hotel through a package with Costco Travel. We received a welcome drink in the bar when we arrived and it was a nice touch. We are happy with our choice to stay here and enjoyed their hospitality. read more

The air conditioning doesn't go below 20.5C (70F) so if you like a cold room this isn't the place. We slept on the outside of the sheets all night. Bring a noise maker, you can hear every word and step from the rooms above you and next to you. Let's not forget about the drunk tourists as well yelling and singing all night. This hotel is 100m from the main tourist bus and taxi depot. So convenient if your coming and going, but not convenient if your trying to enjoy anything quiet like sitting outside. Lastly, not sure how you end up booking this hotel but if you read that there is any free transportation such as a water taxi, there is definitely not. We booked ours through Bank of America using points and only booked it because of the free transportation option and there's definitely not anything free about transportation at this place. read more

Stayed 2 nights here. I booked through Costco Travel and this hotel was one the options on the list. Very clean, bed was super comfy, shower pressure was amazing, attentive staff, breakfast buffet offered a delicious variety, and it is beautifully located right along the canal. Only thing, hotel is not located near main areas of shopping and museums--it's a 20-30min walk. However, my daughter and I enjoyed walking through the residential areas of Venice. Thank goodness for google map! There no way of walking anywhere without it! It is conveniently close to the train station (10min. walk) , and if we wandered off too far and too tired to walk back, we were able to take water taxi back to the hotel. read more

This hotel has been targeted by assailants and is NOT safe for guests. I stayed here with my family in March of 2024 and my mother and I were mugged and assaulted feet from the front door of the hotel. We were robbed of valuables and I was injured during the attack. The police were called by good samaritans nearby. When the police arrived, they informed us that this was not the first incident of this nature to occur recently in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The hotel is aware of this problem and has done nothing to ensure the safety of guests. They have no security (they do not even have managerial staff on site most of the time) and did not offer any assistance to us in the immediate aftermath of this event. We spent hours in the hotel lobby filing police reports and were not so much as offered a bottle of water or a comfortable place to sit. We made our booking via Costco Travel who is supposedly investigating, but MGallery/Accor Group has not made any attempt to contact us. Whether you book directly or through a third party like we did, you are putting your personal safety at risk by staying at this hotel. read more

Very nice hotel! We stayed in a corner room so we had two walls of beautiful views. The breakfast had a lot to choose from (eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, cereal, and pastries). The bar had great wine! I didn't get to eat there for dinner but the menu looked good. read more

Our room is 147, after talking to some of the people in our group of 24, finally we have the best view. From the outside, it showed we have 1 bathroom window, 3 living/bedroom windows (with curtains) and they all open up for fresh air. While sitting in the toilette, you can see the pedestrian street, and the boats, so we have 2 traffic views, plus the buildings across the street from us and shops & restaurants. The restaurant greets you with ceiling covered plants and columns (shown in photos by previous poster). I took many photos of this room! Love everything about it. Why the 1 star minus? Let me tell you something. Hubby told me, the shower doesn't work, but HE LOVES the bathtub. Now's my turn. I couldn't figure out how to close the tub, and I didn't want to use the tub, I didn't want to wash my hair today, either. While trying to get inside the bathroom, he thought the door was locked from the inside, so I try to get up to open the door, so he can come inside to show me how the tub works, and I almost slipped! Think of pulling a chicken wish-bone, that's what almost happened to me. The tub is about 2 feet high, and being a 5'2", it is hard getting in & out without holding on to a towel bar and trying to reach the door knob, and @ the same time, trying to land on a floor mat with wet feet. Also, there are no Kleenex in this room, and hubby has a cold! The breakfast buffet consists of about 4 long tables food of choices to eat! Many selections. I'll update after dinner tonight, it's our grand finale in Italy, this better be good! read more

I was definitely happy with my choice of hotels in Venice. I liked that it was away from the maddening crowds on the Grand Canal, yet easily walkable to everywhere. The room was a good size, and I had a nice terrace which overlooked the pretty, quiet streets and canals. The breakfast buffet was really a great assortment catering to all tastes, and service in the entire hotel was attentive. It was also an easy walk to get to the train station to get to other parts of Italy, and a pretty easy drive from the airport. read more

We now realize, 7 months later, that you are still unhappy with this.it's probably not by writing bad reviews that we'll solve this unpleasant situation. You may do it with the same contact you agreed the voucher previously with. Just be so kind and try to do that... After picking up our luggage at Marco Polo airport, we took a limo service to here. The location is perfect being just across the train and bus station. The front desk was very helpful to get us checked in early to our room. We were on the 1st floor which would be our 2nd floor in US. The elevators are very small but we managed to make it in 1 trip with our luggage. The room faced out to the back of canal waterway. So, it was nice not to face the busy large bridge. The layout was pretty tight when you entered the room with a small desk and bed with hideaway closets for luggage. The bathroom was pretty large with windows that had curtains rather than shutters. So, it made us self-conscious when we took a shower. With our Costco reservation, the hotel provided us with a nice welcome gift of 2 bottled water plus a box of assorted biscotti cookies. Also, we had buffet breakfast during our 2 day stay. The hotel desk was very helpful to find out our status of our delayed luggage. The only downside of our room was that the shower stall kept on leaking water in the back. So, there was pool of water formed at the back of the shower stall. Also, the room temperature control was not the best so we had to get the hotel clerk to fix it when we left the room. These were minor issues so in the grand scheme, this hotel is a winner being located very close to the train station. Checkout was smooth and just had to pay for the hotel city tax. We were able to walk to the train station in 10-15 minutes after crossing the canal bridge. This hotel is super convenient which made it nice to take a break after walking around the city. read more

Went here for my honeymoon. Costco the big box warehouse set us up in this hotel. You can not beat the location and charm. Breakfast was amazing in the room covered with plants. Make sure you opt for the breakfast package. It sits right on the water giving you a true Venice feel. ********DID NOT HAPPEN TO ME******* I was waiting at the service desk and an Asian man said some stuff was taken out of his room. the service desk was not the most helpful and said they could call the Police that was about it. I had a similar experience at the airport. If you lose something or it gets stolen. They always say they have to contact the police. If I could give this zero stars I would, but there is no option. I had an upcoming reservation in September 2020, but due to COVID-19 I had to cancel. I explained to the hotel that my airline reservations have been canceled as well as the cruise I was going to take subsequent to our three day stay at the hotel. They refused to honor my request for a refund and only offered me a voucher for a future stay at their hotel. I went online to their parent company, ALL-ACCOR where they have a "Voucher Request Form" to fill out, which I did. I received an email back from them stating to me that I could not request a voucher because the reservation had already been previously canceled. I found out that the hotel had already canceled my reservation prior to my ability to apply for a voucher. The parent company informed me that in order to request a voucher it has to be for a current reservation as opposed to a canceled reservation. They told me they would call the hotel directly and arrange for my voucher. A couple of hours later I received an email back from the parent company informing me that there was nothing they could do for me and that I would have to deal directly with the hotel in the future. I contacted the hotel via email and was told that our email correspondence would suffice as a voucher which I find unacceptable. Under the unprecedented circumstances of COVID-19, I should have received a full refund in my opinion. So now the hotel has $900 of my money. I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel for any future visits. read more

This was our first stop (followed by Venice and Rome) on our first trip to Italy and it made a great first impression. Our transport from the airport was able to park close and take our bags the short distance to the hotel. Staff were very helpful and welcoming upon arrival. Our room was very nice and had windows overlooking a little park. The amenities (cookies, Prosecco, etc.) were a nice touch. Our breakfast was included and it was superb! Outside, the hotel was located on a canal with water taxi mooring if you wanted to go to Murano and beyond. If not, it was only a short walk to the ferries. We enjoyed our stay here very much although truth be told we spent most of our time viewing great art at the Biennale (and assorted galleries). Did I mention that the hotel also gave us a pair of complimentary of tickets to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum! read more

Booked through Costco....Hotel rooms are small but comfortable; a bit gaudy in my opinion. Great spread for breakfast however the front desk & dining room staff attitude leave a lot to be desired. The front desk staff were unwilling to understand simple questions being asked of them & were not forthcoming with information. Example1: One of the other guests asked for information about the water taxies, except they used the phrase water bus. Simple enough to understand what he was asking about yet the front desk person kept asking what the guest meant. Example2: I inquired about the free water taxi service to Murano & was told there was no such thing & we had to take the public water taxi or the hotel could arrange a private boat for us for 60 Euro. I asked again - What about the boat that the gallery sends? Could the hotel arrange that for us? Sure enough, they could, but they did not offer up the information. I had to dig for it. Not helpful at all. Example3: This one left a bad taste in my mouth & totally spoilt my experience. We checked out early at 6:30am for our early morning return flight & requested a box breakfast since the breakfast buffet (included with our rooms) would not be open till 7am. Staff were setting up the breakfast buffet while we were checking out & I grabbed 3 warm croissants. Katrina from the dining room staff, rolled her eyes at me, said they were not included in the box breakfast & I needed to pay for them. Too stunned to say anything to her I paid 6 Euro for 3 TINY croissants!! Had we checked out any later we would have eaten in the dining room & everything would have been available to us. Was it the color of my skin (I'm not Caucasian) or is the staff really this inhospitable??? After a wonderful experience in Rome & Florence, this was a bit of a damper on our vacation. read more

Do NOT stay at this hotel. We had reservations to stay there in September, 2020 but because of COVID nobody could travel. We live in the USA. We still cannot travel. We received a full refund for our airfare and our cruise line for this trip. This hotel will not refund our $900.00. It is not a good policy to keep someones money for something they have not received. I myself work in customer service and sometimes in extenuating circumstances a company must bend those policies and rules. COVID is one of those times. We go that extra mile and do whatever it takes to make and keep the customer happy and if that would include a full refund that is what we would do to keep another satisfied customer. They did issue a voucher, but in our mind that is completely unacceptable. We have not stayed there and are not even sure at this point if we will be able to as we have an ill father who needs us here. This hotel was originally not even going to give us a voucher until we left a review saying they would not refund us our money. Pierpaolo C. said he wanted to act fairly and properly in a way to satisfy their guests needs. This issue has become a burden and a thorn in our side that won't go away. It's mind boggling and we cannot rationalize how anyone running a professional business can think it's acceptable to keep someones money for a service that has not been provided. We did not change our plans to stay there. COVID-19 happened which kept us from arriving in September. We don't feel like we have been treated fairly nor are we satisfied. Loved this hotel we stayed here with a gate 1 tour group for two nights. Rooms were tiny but very quaint and comfortable. Location is right on the water in Venice. Hotel provides a breakfast that is amazing and in a lovely atrium type area that is just beautiful, bright, sunny, and full of plants. Great location, great customer service, great rooms...That truly sums up this property. The location of the hotel is very close to the last available drop off location for cars before truly getting into Venice. If you arrive by air, it's a short 15 or so minute drive and then a three minute walk over one bride to the hotel. Once you are there, if you don't mind walking, you shouldn't have to use a water taxi unless you want to venture to one of the other islands. There are plenty of great places to eat within a quick walk. I found the customer service at this hotel amazing. They assisted me in booking transfers, dining reservations, and more and were very responsive via both email and phone prior to my arrival. I also must point out Steffano who assisted us at the bar and waited on us on New Years Eve; he was amazing. Great personality, always willing to help, and just a good person to be around. Lastly, the rooms are very contemporary and don't have that old European look at other properties in Venice still have. If the traditional look is something you're looking for in your experience, than this probably won't be the best place for you. Overall, amazing experience. read more
