I startet with Beef Tartar, Chefs choice which was delicious! i really love Tartar, and this was great. a Little bit creamy, spicked with little pickles, served with fresh toast. My friend had a mushroom soup, which was pretty good as well. you can taste, that it is made from fresh mushrooms, not a "can soup" As side dishes we took twice the spinach and one Portion of fries. also good. As main course I took the tenderloin filet, medium rare. Woww. the taste and the Quality of the meet was super good! my friend took the ribeye. what can we say. you can not make meat better, more tasteful. just "perfect". When you go to a good meat Restaurant in switzerlan, you also have to consider the Price. and we have to say, it was good. we paid for everything CHF 200. Menü is not big (which for me is a good sign) and we got Kaessespaetzle, Tagliatelle a la wendelgard and the Schwabenteller. All three dishes were great, with the tagliatelle on the top position (schwabenteller second). We had a merlot and a Tempranillo glass of wine (red) which tasted great. Friendly stuff, great atmosphere. Next time we're in Konstanz we'll definitely eat there.

The restaurant is only let down a bit by the fact, that the à la carte menu seems over-priced in comparison to the gourmet menu. Highly recommendable, but choose wisely if you don't want to pay a fortune ;-)

Friendly personnel and everyone spoke English well enough. The room I had was on the top floor with a nice balcony with a view of the church and the Munot fortress. Other than the balcony the room was fairly standard with a nice big bed, mini-bar, free wifi (did not work all the time) and LCD-TV. What I did miss was coffee/tea making facilities as well as an iron and ironing board (there is an ironing room in the hotel but quality of it was awful -over 10 minutes to get any type of heat and not great even after that long wait). Bathroom was ok but the water in the shower varied greatly in heat and pressure. There is also no fitness centre/gym which is a major drawback. The breakfast was huge disappointment. No hot food (except for barely boiled eggs), awful selection of other things and coffee almost undrinkable. Still looking at the options in Schaffhausen it is still not that bad.

The reason why I am giving this hotel a three star review has to do with the lack of a few things…read more First it does not have any air conditioning which is pretty normal for this area but the windows can't be open at night because there are no screens. Again pretty normal. But it makes for a very oppressive stay when the weather is hot. Which it was in the beginning of July. Also, on one of the nights of my stay there was a wedding and things got pretty loud with the music and partying. A group were staying on the next floor and they pretty much spent the entire night celebrating. Don't get me wrong I am all for that but they should put the party on the lower floor and not directly over someone. The management was nice enough to comp one night of my stay but it doesn't makeup for a very hot sleepless night. Other than that the property is very well situated with commanding views of Lake Constance.

For dinner we were eating at "Wave Emily". Eventhough it has "only" 13 Gault Millau Points it was outstanding! In my opinion totally more than 13 Gault Millau deserved. All the courses i had were excellent and very special. Really recommandable! 5/5 Service: Very attentive, friendly and informative.
