      This is a very small hotel near the tiny city center of Surcee. We were supposed to stay in…read moreLucerne but there was no availablity. This town is about 10-15 min. outside of Lucerne. The hotel itself is OLD...the tile in the room and the bathroom looks to be from about 1970. The bathroom is miniature (and I am very used to small bathrooms and European-sized rooms). The bathroom had a mildew smell as well. There is a safe in the room but they did not provide us a key to the safe. Nothing about the hotel felt updated at all. The only thing I can say is that it is a non-smoking hotel which is nice, and the breakfast was pretty good. The tap water in Switzerland is incredible and we were happy that the hotel provided two bottles of fresh water free of charge in the room. We promptly dumped out the processed water and used the bottles to fill up with the delicious tap water from the bathroom sink. The room was so small and outdated, though, that I cannot give it more than two stars. And believe me, I'm a big fan of Europe's old, quaint hotels. This one just doesn't feel quaint at all....it just feels like it needs a little update.

Breakfast is available but it's too obvious they limit the available food by not refilling or replenishing enough.

      This is a very small hotel, but with a good location. After booking a room here and showing to…read morecheck in at 7 PM on the evening of the reservation, the hotel was basically closed. No one was manning the desk, no instructions were available on how to get in touch with anyone and the restaurant associated with the hotel was closed! I called the listed hotel number, got a recording. I tried to find a way to check into the hotel for almost an hour including going to a nearby hospital clinic! No one could help. I cancelled on booking.com and found a room nearby at a higher price. The hotel management refused to credit my stay, leaving no options for me but to dispute the charges with my credit card company. Book at your own risk!!!!!
