Hotel SP34 is a Brochner Hotel in the Latin Quarter of Copenhagen. After spending four nights and five days at Hotel SP34 in October 2021, here's our experience: 1) Location: If you love being close to the tourist attractions and shopping, it's a perfect location. Close to a Metro station, you can take it or walk to Tivoli Gardens and other famous sites. Just a little east of the hotel is a main street with tons of high end shopping and restaurants. My friend and I like more local neighborhoods, so it's not our style, but if you love shopping and tourist locations, it's ideal! 2) Space: It's a spacious hotel that makes good use of the space. There's a large lobby with seats and desks for working. There's an outdoor patio, a rooftop patio, several restaurants, a bar, a gym and a cinema for guests to use. 3) Design: The lobby is designed with quirky paintings and a "Hello Gorgeous" sign in the pink elevator. It's a little trendy, but when you enter the rooms, the design becomes classier. 4) Rooms: For two people, we booked the superior double room and keep in mind it's Europe- the rooms are small! With a smaller bed and not much space to retreat, one of us ended up in the lobby at all times to get the space. 5) Amenities: This is where they shine! In the mornings, they have a table with towels, water bottles and running routes set out. There's free wine from 5pm-6pm and free liqueur from 10pm-11pm daily. Our room came with breakfast and wow! It's in a beautiful space on the basement level and comes with a mimosa bar, a bread area, granola, eggs, sausage, so many good food option. They also have a full coffee area. A few things to keep in mind when staying: 1) Price: Compared to other hotels in the area, it's on the more expensive side. 2) Room: A few things were wrong with our room. The bathroom handle kept breaking off. Also, our shower was slow to drain, often flooding the bathroom after a 5-10 minute shower. read more

I would recommend this hotel. The hotel served free wine at 5 pm and free nite cap drinks at 10 pm. Staff were extremely friendly and the hotel had a modern atmosphere. Location of hotel was great! The room was a bit small. Shower pressure felt like a cruise ship and water got everywhere, but they provided daily room service and extra towels ( if needed). If you're looking for a room to sleep in and venture during the day, I recommend this place. read more

Hotel SP34 is a new 4 Star boutique hotel in Copenhagen's old Latin Quarter. Situated very close to all the great spots in Copenhagen. I stayed there for 5 nights and i truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back when I visit Copenhagen again. Brilliant design, warm and cosy lobby that will serve drinks, really modern rooms with beautiful decor. The staff, from the lobby to the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. Lots of hype online with picture of the lobby that look great. But that's pretty much it. The lobby is stylish but rooms are small and water pressure isn't great. The shower also has the water drain in the far corner, so it easily gets flooded. The perks are nice though. There is wine hour (choice of either red or white house wine) and free breakfast in the mornings. Anything good at breakfast costs extra; the base cost only covers bread and chia seed goop. read more

I had a rough start here - but the friendly staff was able to fix things and did so with a smile! A few things to note: there's no AC at this hotel which is normal for Denmark. However it was hot & I'm sure I would have slept nicely in the comfy bed with the windows open except there was construction outside my room from 8pm till 5am! I couldn't sleep through the sounds & asphalt stench, and I needed to close the window. When I called to request a fan, they had none. But in the morning, I requested again and it was ready for me when I returned from my tour. So just note: no AC. The fan was a godsend! Not the coolest night of sleep, but manageable. Other - "elevator" lift C terrified me! I used the stairs the entire time (after first thinking I was trapped in the lift). I seriously refused to get back in that thing - but the kind staff was again to the rescue! When I was ready to check out, they carried my bigger luggage down the lift while I again, took the stairs. Cute boutique hotel and a great location. A bit pricey, but normal for Copenhagen. There is a wine hour and you can order decently priced wines throughout the day & night. Definitely check out the breakfast restaurant around the corner - Next Door Cafe. You can walk almost anywhere from the location. Like I said, rough start with construction, but remedied by the staff. read more

I wanted to like this place so much. It's charming but old and the rooms are tiny. I paid for a superior double room for exactly this reason because I'd read reviews. At checkin, after an flight from California, there were only standard double rooms available, which I could switch from after the first night. In my tired fever, I agreed, and to their credit, it was a very kindly explained. The standard double was basically a closet with a sloped ceiling (charming?). There's nowhere to put my suitcase to open up. I'd hoped to at least get what I paid for, especially if it's a higher price point of room. In exchange, I was given a free add-on to the breakfast, which was the equivalent of $5. read more

Cute little boutique hotel in the heart of Copenhagen - near Tivoli and shopping. The room itself was the most disappointing aspect of the hotel but everything else is great. The downstairs has a wine bar (which is also where you check in and out) and a couple restaurants. The wine bar area has a nice vibe and cool artwork and really lends itself to hanging out with your friends and whiling away a few hours. Room was kind of small and the shower was the worst part about the whole hotel - smelled kind of musty and the shower head was very low. The elevator is also tiny and can fit really only one person at a time if you have a lot of luggage. It's also very slow. Employees here are generally young and very friendly and easy to talk to. Gym is well stocked with water, towels and new machines. They also have a free wine hour from 5-6PM every afternoon. I would consider staying here again despite the room given that the other amenities are quite nice. read more

Very cute interior and the restaurant is great. A little confusing at first when you walk in, is it a bar, is it a lobby, is it a lounge? Don't worry it is a lobby and you can get help from the folks behind the bar. The staff is nice but we had to wait a while both folks were helping one customer. One thing is that i've heard from two colleagues that they were given a room that someone else was already in (separate times) - ouch. Nordics was hit with a heat wave and AC is not common for Denmark. You can call and see if they have fans that you can request but even with the fan it was still super hot. It gets a bit too noisy if you have the windows open through the night if you face the street. They have free wine hour, so if you like wine it's great. The decor is so good. Location is convenient. Rooms are roomy. The best part: breakfast is at the same Väkst restaurant (Michelin guide) which is a lush paradise/greenhouse that is straight out of instagram dreams. read more

If I would build a hotel, it would probably look something like this. The flat (=the hotel room that feels like the most important details in a Scandinavian flat squeezed into miniature version of itself) is like a home. It took me less then a second to feel "ah, home at last" when entering my room for the first time. They have an ecological breakfast served in the morning and wine a'clock (when the restaurant serves the hotel guests a glass of wine after work) from 5 to 6 in the afternoon. There are many nice corners to sit and work in the lobby and conference rooms are on their way to being built in this newly opened hotel. Details that I love with my room: the French balcony with view of cute orange and yellow facades. How the bed takes up all of the right corner (effective use of space). The ironer and iron table. And the Nordic color tones used throughout the room + the beautiful tall windows. I could live here! read more

Really cool lobby and general public spaces. In the summer, I bet this place is very popular with its rooftop terrace and cosy interiors. But. The rooms are tiny! The bathrooms even smaller. I was here for one night so I didn't think much of it, but I like Copenhagen and want to come back. It just won't be here. There is little the hotel can do about the size and layout of the room. But they could develop a better price:value ratio knowing these drawbacks. I had several choices and this was the higher priced than similar hotels I looked at. For the price, I got poor value. If you are single and there is a decent rate, I'm sure you will enjoy the facilities. If you are a couple, looking for something a little more special, suggest you keep looking. read more

Great Danish Modern styled Hotel in central Copenhagen. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The room 222 was a good size and well appointed. Lots of light. Washroom was also quite large. I understand this is in the newer building so can't comment on the older part. Food was great in the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast. Likely the best hotel buffet breakfast I've had. I usually opt out and grab something close by but after the first morning was zipping down to breakfast each morning. Cappuccinos were one of the best in Copenhagen which is, again, surprising. I usually spend much of my research time on the closest artisan style coffeehouse. Overall great design details, great gym, great food and friendly service. read more

The lobby of this hotel is awesome, is contemporary and has lots of social spaces for people to meet and hangout. There's also a small library, fireplace and happy hour free drinks. What's weird is the bartender is also the receptionist. We had to wait in line to get checked in after the guy in front of us had his drink. You can choose breakfast package with your booking. The food served are 90% organic. The path to the hotel room is rather a bit disappointing. The carpet in the hallway is rather torn down, dirty and scary.. They seemed to have been there for a hundred years. wonder why they don't change it. It's a major turn off. The rooms are well sized, beds are clean and comfy. The good: the staff at the front desk have been very helpful. I mean, beyond-the-call, helpful. I haven't eaten the breakfast yet, but if the other reviews are to be believed, that falls under "the good" also. The bad: THIS HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. That alone should be cause to avoid here in June, July, & August. Visiting Copenhagen at the end of August, the room temperature was tolerable for me; I just wish I had seen ANYTHING about this in their advertising. We were offered a fan & that helped, but really it's not the same. Update (following AM): Breakfast was ah-maze-ing, which almost makes up for their lack of a cooling system, which admittedly they don't need 9 or 10 months of the year. (Another caveat: you could probably hang meat in my home in the US.) I think I was just grumpy yesterday from 16 hours of travel. But back to breakfast, I usually find European breakfast buffets weird, anemic, & generally off putting. I am a fan of bacon & eggs or French toast, so the usual fare of hard-boiled eggs & yogurt of most European breakfast "buffets" strike my American palate as insufficient, but this, even though it did include the requisite hard-boiled eggs & yogurt (or yoghurt since I am in Europe), was an amazing spread of cereal soaked in honey, pastries, & juices, each wonderful & unique, (well, to my palate anyhow). read more

Located in the beating heart of Copenhagen close to Tivoli, City Hall Square and the main shopping area. A boutique hotel with Scandinavian design and simplicity. The public spaces are very beautifully designed with both library and a stunning, very cozy lounge. My single room however was a bit different than the other spaces. I was surprised. Unfortunately, not positive. My single room was very small and outdated. Although it did still have some nice Scandinavian touches to it, I found the room to be too disappointing. The bathroom and toilet was divided into two tiny rooms, and you basically took a shower in the washbasin. A nice touch though was the REN bath products. The breakfast was quite good. Expect a Danish breakfast including bread, cheeses, cold cuts, yogurts, cereals, soft boiled eggs etc. The quality is really great and much of it is organic. Overall, This is a pretty good hotel, but the rooms are just too outdated and not any good compared to the public spaces. read more

I stayed in this cool, hip and friendly hotel last November for 3 days. I was very surprised over how good and friendly service was. They really made us welcome. The locations is really central ...you can walk to the shopping street but the hotel is located in a really hip neighborhood where lots of artist and designers. Cool restaurants and bars. read more

This hotel gets good ratings but I don't know why. The rooms are poorly laid out and unattractive. Some on the 5th floor do not have enough room to get to the bathroom without hitting your head. We tried three rooms but all were small and had little space to hang things or spread out. Worse, the young man who waited on us really lacks interpersonal skills to say the least. In fact, my wife and I found him arrogant and indifferent until I lodged a personal complaint. The price of this so called boutique hotel ( high) demands much more. read more

Hotel is very overpriced. Tried to give me a lower level room without telling me when I checked in. I came back down to alert them of their mistake and they credited me back $ after acknowledging their mistake. If I did not catch them they would have got away with a $1000 "mistake". No one alerted me upon check in that upgraded breakfast and drinks were "included" in my $5000 per week suite. Lost out on that benefit for the week. Also charged me $100 for 2 day bike rental for bikes that are worth $125 to buy new. Now valet service. Had to carry all my own bags. A two (2) star service at best. A hostel would be equivalent on service. Room floors where never cleaned. A layer of dust the entire week. No A/C! Suite is no bigger than a standard room and has zero views. When I booked the room initially they said they were full except for one suite left. Found out during my stay they had other rooms available at 60% less. They got away with my $5000 this time but there will not be a next. read more

The worst service I've ever experienced at any hotel. I'd booked a loft and arrived to check in only to be told they had no lofts available so they'd put me in the penthouse instead. No offer to give me a discount or a free upgrade to anything. I didn't like the way the penthouse looked for such an astronomical rate so I asked for a double instead. They told me the room wasn't clean yet and to come back. The whole time they were super rude to me and not apologetic at all. When I came back several hours later my room was ready but no one had brought my bags up to it so I needed to do it myself. The room was freezing in the middle of the night making it hard to sleep. I called to ask them how to turn on the heat or see if the heater was broken and rather than send someone to take a look they said all they could do was move me to another room. The heater should have been on and ready before anyone checked in since it was November and 40 degrees outside. On top of the room being freezing the walls are so thin you can hear all the noise from other rooms and from the street. There are so many adorable hotels and Airbnb's in Copenhagen. I don't know how this one survives with such horrible service. read more

Had the best stay at SP34 while visiting Copenhagen! The staff was lovely, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was divine. And right in the heart of city center, close to the airport - could not be a better location. Can't wait to come back!! read more

Very friendly staff, centrally located, clean and great breakfast (included). We did upgrade to a suite because I was traveling with my husband and son. I highly recommend going this route as the rooms are very small and the suite is really more like a regular US hotel room. I would definitely stay here again. Lovely place. read more

Despite the trendy and fun vibe on the first floor, I would not recommend this place to the traveler toting cameras or seeking to unwind in the room. The accommodations are "urban chic," which translates to minimalist--i.e. sparely furnished. No good place to charge devices, and no surfaces around the sink to place personal items. Even the night tables were tiny. We had a large rough beam in our room that looked great but had to be navigated around each time we got out of bed. The shower looked inviting but was a challenge to figure out, and then the pleasure of the large shower head was diminished by the cramped shower area when the wrap-around curtain was drawn. There's a tea kettle for heating water in the room but no fresh water (bottled or otherwise) or coffee maker. We had to prop suitcases along the wall and squat to dig through them when we needed anything, as there were no drawers or hangers. Though the hotel interior is cool to look at, it provides logistical challenges. The entrance is tough to find, the room corridors narrow and windy, the elevator a box, and the stairwells difficult to locate. The hotel staff was quite friendly and helpful, and the breakfast we had there in the charming first-floor dining room was delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better server. Despite the warm hospitality, I would not go back again. This hotel needs to pay more attention to guest comfort. read more
