I had a chance to stay at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel on a recent visit to Copenhagen. The hotel sits near downtown on the river. It offers great views of the city and one of the many rivers that run through the city. The hotel has 2 restaurants with full bars. They even offer an executive lounge for bonvoy members that is reasonably stocked with beverages, including wine and beer, with snacks, and heavy apps for breakfast and evening visits. The gym is sizeable and available 24x7. They offer steam room and sauna. I tried both, it great to sweat the pores. They offer an outdoor pool. Let me tell you, it is in the river. As I come to understand, that some public pools are river based. A lot of guest seemed to enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and was very helpful The food in the hotel was very good including the meals offered in the executive lounge. My only concern on this visit was that there was a number of conferences in town but one of them was an EU conference and security over top. As a guest of the hotel, I was never notified about security enhancement nor was I told I would have to leave and or exit the hotel a certain way. It was very inconvenient and made it difficult to use UBER for that period. Other than that, I really had a really good stay. I look forward to any future visits.

Join the crazies and dip in the river, then settle in for a relaxing night here in Copenhagen. Convenient to most city center locations, you can walk to Tivoli Market or a tad longer to Nyhavn. The rooms have nice city views or even nicer water views depending on luck of your draw. Those with status can enjoy nice breakfast and evening eating. You'll have all the expected Marriott amenities otherwise, with updated rooms and a nice restaurant/bar onsite as you enjoy the river views. I'll return when back in town, so save a space in the ice water for me.

We have stayed at the Copenhagen Marriott on two different occasions. This stay was for a visit with my parents. We stayed in executive rooms that had recently been renovated. I am a lifetime Marriott Platinum member and have stayed in a lot of their properties over the years. Unfortunately, the check-in did not go very smoothly at all. The young man who took care of us at the front desk was in a hurry. This became very apparent when I tried to enter our room. He wrote the wrong room number on the wrong floor. It took multiple trips back and forth from our floor to the desk to sort out the issue. The room was beautiful once we got in. The hotel amenities are nice. We had breakfast in the lounge each morning of our stay. There was a nice assortment of food. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening. The food was excellent as was the service. One of the nice things about the hotel is its location. Especially if you plan on visiting the Tivoli Amusement Park. Other than the challenges at check in, it was a nice stay. We visit Copenhagen often and we will probably stay here again in the future.

LOCATION: Copenhagen Marriott Hotel is in a great location. One side of the hotel has a fantastic view of the canal front, and the other of the city. You can easily walk to and from the hotel with the furthest destination on our itinerary about a 50 minute stroll away (Reffen). You can walk to most places in 10 - 20 minutes. The city is so beautiful and there's lots to see, so walking goes by fast. If walking is not your thing, there were always cabs waiting at the hotel and the main redline Hop and Hop Off Buss actually stops at the Marriott location. ROOMS: Rooms are spacious. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of space to store your clothes and things, including an ample closet and dresser. One thing to note, the bathtub is narrow and the tub wall is quite high. If you are traveling with elders or you have a hard time stepping up and over, you should book an accessible room (ADA) room. One thing to note, if you happen to be staying on opening day of Tivoli, or in the Summer with a Saturday night stay, you may want to consider booking a city view room on the 11th (or high) floor so you can see the fireworks. We heard them go off and ran out to the window by the elevator but the 8th floor view was blocked by the hotel across the way. However, we still got to see some pretty beautiful sprays from the high ones. BOOKING TIP: At this time of writing this review, you can upgrade to a canal view room with executive lounge access and have breakfast in the main restaurant (around $55 extra a night). It seems they used to provide a smaller breakfast in the lounge but currently allow guests to enjoy the full buffet instead. FOOD: The breakfast buffet is awesome. So many wonderful choices and beautifully presented. The restaurant view overlooks the canal with big picture windows. There is a custom omelette station and hot food section with pancakes or waffles, sausages, bacon, baked beans, and baby potatoes. There's a smaller area that had a lovely corn avocado salad, a tasty quinoa dish (both vegetarian) and fresh veggies (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc). I loved their charcuterie station with four or five different types of herring, smoked salmon, cheeses and cold cuts, etc. There's oatmeal, yogurt, and cereal bar and they of course had all the various types of milk. Lots of fresh pastry and bread options as well. There's even sparkling Cava, non-alcoholic Bloody Mary station, and our favorite - ginger shots. We dined one night in the bar area which was nice and chill. We had the cabbage dish which was quite delicious! LOUNGE: The lounge is pretty big. There are three seating sections. They stock the refrigerators 24x7 with beverages (bubbly waters, juices, soda, etc.), and there's a coffee machine for espressos, lattes, etc. They provide some snacks in the mid-late afternoon. Then, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., they put out two savory appetizers each night (e.g. sweet potato fries, samosas, chicken wings, calamari, fried shrimp, etc.) as well as a charcuterie board and bread. They serve complimentary beer and wine from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. It was a bit cold, windy and even snowy at night while we were there so the lounge was a great option to just chill out and snack in the evenings. We definitely got out money's worth. STAFF Everyone is friendly and super chill. They have loaner umbrellas for their guests, which came in handy while we were there. I would recommend this hotel. It's great for family travel - very kid friendly.

Fantastic hotel located on the canal. Brilliant views of the city and canal front. Service is the best. A warm welcome and excellent care. My room is monstrous with a full bath, work area, sofa chair and a king bed. Worth any price.

This is our 2nd stay at the Copenhagen Marriott, with the previous time 10 years ago. The property is modern and sharp. Even though it was how I remembered it, I'm sure it's been renovated since our 1st stay. It's the only Marriott property in the city which is surprising for such a busy cosmopolitan city. The hotel is along the water front, an easy 15 minute walk from the Central Station and Tivoli. It's also a 15 minute walk from Fisketorvet, a shopping mall / movie complex. The hotel offers a fleet of bikes for rent for 150 dkk a day. With the bikes, we found everything in the city to be easily accessible. If you're not aware, bicycling is the primary mode of transport in the city. There are bike lanes on most streets. For even novice cyclists, bike riding in Copenhagen is easy and safe. To get acquainted with the local biking rules and etiquette, I strongly suggest taking a biking tour first. Back to the hotel - the rooms are larger than the European hotels and comparable to Marriott's in the States. The bathroom is not the roomiest but it is adequate. There is a shower / tub combo. The executive lounge is located on the lobby floor. They offer breakfast, afternoon snack and hors d'oeuvres for the evening. The breakfast includes eggs, meats, fruits, cheeses, and a variety of breads. There are cappuccino machines available all day. The breakfast here does not measure up to the Tivoli hotel where we stayed earlier in the trip but you won't go hungry. The hors d'oeuvres are pretty hearty and can serve as dinner as it did for us on one of the nights. They also serve beer and wine. The service in the lounge is great. The ladies are unfailingly sweet and friendly even though they have a most difficult job. During the summer, the hotel is busy. We did not get any upgrades with our gold status, not even a view of the water. But no complaints. Also, with the crowd in the lounge, being a gold status member doesn't carry the weight it used to. Marriott Copenhagen is a high quality property and a great place to stay for your visit.

Great location. Really friendly staff. Even the executive lounge has solid food choices! And dat room. Hella view! Great comfy beds in the upgraded room!

Marriott Copenhagen I had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Copenhagen for a week long business trip. The hotel is a 20 taxi ride from the airport. Check-in is efficient as staff was quickly added as a number of guests arrived at the same time. As a Titanium member I was upgraded room on a higher floor with a view of the water. The rooms are large and comfortably appointed. We used the club lounge for our breakfasts and visited the lounge for one of their Happy Hour's. Both were well done. The breakfast has a good selection of items including eggs and a meat option (bacon or sausage). The evening selections were good with both hot and cold items. Wine and beer options were also included. Overall a very good option when you stay in Copenhagen.

When we checked…read morein, we had the most wonderful chat with the front desk lady (I lost my note, but I think her name is Miriam). She told us so much of the history of the hotel, so it just made the stay more special. It started as a safe place to stay for sailors and morphed over time to become what it is. She shared her knowledge of sites to see. The location was absolutely 5*. Look out the window and you see a postcard view of Copenhagen that everyone thinks of. The room itself wasn't fancy like a Ritz, but the cozy boutique atmosphere makes up for all that. The room was nice and clean, had a comfortable bed, lots of windows that open up to fresh air. It turned out there was a downside to that as well. People were out all night, so we could hear all the drunken singing in the street through the night, but that was not the fault of the hotel. Maybe the beer brewers, but not the hotel.

The most important feature of a hotel is a comfortable bed and quiet room. We were pleased when we had rooms facing the inside courtyard (instead of the noisy street) but very early in the morning, we were rudely awaken to sustained loud clattering over cobblestones. The next most important feature is wifi internet: the wifi internet was spotty and kept dropping for 1.5 hours and then went down completed for over 1.5 hours and then we gave up; we reported it and it was not fixed. We stayed in 5 hotels across 5 cities in 3 countries and this was the worst hotel considering the cost. Their cancellation policy was not aligned with the other hotels (2 day cancellation vs. 1 day or same day cancellation). We stayed here based on the stellar reviews but were very disappointed. The hotel is located right on the Nyhavn canal in the heart of what had to be the most touristy area. It is a haul to get to the Little Mermaid or any good food. The beds are comfortable with a teeny bathroom (what you might expect on a cruise) with no counter space. There is 1 small Sony TV in 1 room with very little storage space. The included breakfast was good with cheese, cold cuts, cereals and breads (but in comparison to the other 4 Scandanavian hotels it was actually the least varied and Spartan). Don't make the mistake of staying here. You can get a better quieter hotel for the money!

Not to mention it was really close to Torvehallerne Square, which is around an eight-minute walk from the hotel. I arrived early, before check-in, and the reception staff offered to hold my luggage so I could explore the city. They give you a code and place it in a locked and video-monitored closet down in the basement. It was easy to do and safe for your belongings. After some exploring, I returned to the hotel around 4 PM and finally checked in. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my single room had been upgraded to a larger room for free. I was stoked to hear that and loved the room and location they gave me. The room was beautifully furnished and was very clean! The only downside is the no AC. The temperature that day was in the low 60s (60-63 degrees). This may sound nice, but it was rather toasty in my room. They had a standing fan that, unfortunately, did not rotate, but it helped somewhat. They give you very heavy-duty duvets that are better for winter weather, but thankfully, I opened some of the windows in my room, which made it more bearable to sleep at night. The staff here was so friendly and accommodating. It's very close to plenty of sights, attractions, and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. It's a beautifully decorated hotel, with lovely rooms and an excellent location.

When our baggage and we, by extension, were…read moredumped in the middle of the street by the taxi driver who transported us from the ship, we were dismayed to discover they have no bellmen and no luggage trolley. The entrance to the hotel is up three stairs. A very kind man carried the large bags I was struggling w/ while Alan was inside. Had he not, it would have been difficult for us to manage. But that is the only negative. The front desk staff here have been unfailingly helpful, no matter what we've asked. We were checked in and the lovely young woman who helped us said our room might be ready before 2:00PM but she couldn't promise. At that point it was about 9:40. She took our luggage to store for us and we sat in the lobby in comfortable Swan chairs to rest. In the lobby is a beautiful pool w/ a blue glass bottom and a large yellow rubber ducky floating in it. A fish-ladder-like fountain feeds the pool. No more than 20 or 30 minutes later she told us the room was ready and directed us to room 316. We stepped off the elevator on the third floor to see photos of Coleman Hawkins, Miles Davis and other American jazz musicians from their Copenhagen days in the 1960s. I felt immediately at home. We brought our luggage up and w/o unpacking, took a nap, then went out to explore. They keep our room keys and their heavy holders on hooks while we are out. From the beginning, the staff associated us w/ our room number, bringing out our key as soon as we walked in the door. The staff made several restaurant recommendations and wrote out directions for Alan for ATMs and a pharmacy. The helpful things they did were too numerous to recount in detail. Danish design is exquisite. When I was growing up the furniture we had was called Danish Modern and I love it still. The elevator doors are works of art, as are the toilet paper holders. In addition to the Swan chair Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg chair. When I was at Cal in the 60s there was a Scandinavian furniture store on Telegraph called Fraser's. They had an Egg chair, probably in blue or green or orange. I used to go down there periodically just to sit in it. The hotel has an Egg chair in a a little room w/ an iPad attached. It's a soft brown and is as lovely as I remember it. The bed is comfortable w/ twin duvets like the hotel in Vienna had. Over the bed hangs a triptych, a photo of Ben Webster and Coleman Hawkins in 1967. There is a long, convenient desk w/ plugs on the wall at the end for charging devices. Wifi is free, fast and reliable. The phone is angular and a work of art. The room is large and comfortable. There are two Swan chairs and I'm sure the desk chair has a name. There is a sign encouraging you to hang up bath towels if you don't want them washed and they don't take them if you hang them up. Breakfast is included, a buffet w/ scrambled eggs and bacon, two loaves of bread to cut, one of them the dense whole grain bread I love. There are also baskets of pastries which look delicious, but I could never get past the bread to try them. A cold section holds several delicious cheeses, ham, salami, paté, orange wedges, fruit salad, yogurts, cereals and melon slices. Coffee, teas and juices are also available. I loved the cheeses and ham, preferred the orange wedges to the fruit salad and enjoyed the Greek yogurt. On the TV quietly played a video featuring the music and photos of Miles Davis, Ray Charles, John Coltrane, Oscar Peterson and Dexter Gordon. It was a pleasure to watch. It was a generous breakfast buffet to pick and choose from. I'm sorry we will be leaving too early for the airport tomorrow to enjoy it. We had a lovely stay here and I would recommend this hotel.

The next morning when I woke up and took a shower, when I retrieved a "fresh" towel from the neatly-folded pile I noticed a disgusting brown streak just before putting the towel to my face. I got the "Ice Cream of the Gods", which is a very soft serve in a cone and the option for either a chocolate or a salted caramel drizzle. And it's so GOOD. Even my dad, who was skeptical about spending money on something so simple, said it was worth it after having a taste. We also happened to be there between the times they were switching out samples, so we got to try the Billionaire Shortbread Chocolate Selector (caramel, cookies, and hazelnut) and a dark chocolate bit that I didn't get the name of.
