LOCATION:
Copenhagen Marriott Hotel is in a great location. One side of the hotel has a fantastic view of the canal front, and the other of the city. You can easily walk to and from the hotel with the furthest destination on our itinerary about a 50 minute stroll away (Reffen). You can walk to most places in 10 - 20 minutes. The city is so beautiful and there's lots to see, so walking goes by fast. If walking is not your thing, there were always cabs waiting at the hotel and the main redline Hop and Hop Off Buss actually stops at the Marriott location.
ROOMS:
Rooms are spacious. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of space to store your clothes and things, including an ample closet and dresser. One thing to note, the bathtub is narrow and the tub wall is quite high. If you are traveling with elders or you have a hard time stepping up and over, you should book an accessible room (ADA) room.
One thing to note, if you happen to be staying on opening day of Tivoli, or in the Summer with a Saturday night stay, you may want to consider booking a city view room on the 11th (or high) floor so you can see the fireworks. We heard them go off and ran out to the window by the elevator but the 8th floor view was blocked by the hotel across the way. However, we still got to see some pretty beautiful sprays from the high ones.
BOOKING TIP:
At this time of writing this review, you can upgrade to a canal view room with executive lounge access and have breakfast in the main restaurant (around $55 extra a night). It seems they used to provide a smaller breakfast in the lounge but currently allow guests to enjoy the full buffet instead.
FOOD:
The breakfast buffet is awesome. So many wonderful choices and beautifully presented. The restaurant view overlooks the canal with big picture windows. There is a custom omelette station and hot food section with pancakes or waffles, sausages, bacon, baked beans, and baby potatoes. There's a smaller area that had a lovely corn avocado salad, a tasty quinoa dish (both vegetarian) and fresh veggies (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc). I loved their charcuterie station with four or five different types of herring, smoked salmon, cheeses and cold cuts, etc. There's oatmeal, yogurt, and cereal bar and they of course had all the various types of milk. Lots of fresh pastry and bread options as well. There's even sparkling Cava, non-alcoholic Bloody Mary station, and our favorite - ginger shots.
We dined one night in the bar area which was nice and chill. We had the cabbage dish which was quite delicious!
LOUNGE:
The lounge is pretty big. There are three seating sections. They stock the refrigerators 24x7 with beverages (bubbly waters, juices, soda, etc.), and there's a coffee machine for espressos, lattes, etc. They provide some snacks in the mid-late afternoon. Then, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., they put out two savory appetizers each night (e.g. sweet potato fries, samosas, chicken wings, calamari, fried shrimp, etc.) as well as a charcuterie board and bread. They serve complimentary beer and wine from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. It was a bit cold, windy and even snowy at night while we were there so the lounge was a great option to just chill out and snack in the evenings. We definitely got out money's worth.
STAFF
Everyone is friendly and super chill. They have loaner umbrellas for their guests, which came in handy while we were there.
I would recommend this hotel. It's great for family travel - very kid friendly. read more
