This hotel offers an all inclusive option which was decent. The accommodations leave a lot to be desired we were originally given a room that didn't appear to be finished it had broke tiles the towel rack was missing the bar to put a towel on, there was no toilet tissue holder there were holes in the concrete walls where a picture had been moved & the walls had not been painted. The second room we had was painted and somewhat finished but the pictures I posted are of the second room. The bed was firm but comfortable that's pretty much the only good thing I can say about the accommodations. The staff were mostly friendly & personable, the bar tenders were great.

I don't even know where to start with this hotel. The price does not reflect the room, service, or amenities. I would not recommend this place whatsoever. If you are looking to stay in this area look elsewhere please for your own sake. The "included breakfast" was a self serve of bread slices, cheese, old muffins and cereal. All photos included. It seemed extremely unsanitary and quite frankly disgusting and appalling considering how much money we spent for the weekend. The food was also not on par. My friends and I all felt very ill after eating there. The rooms were also not clean, we found hair on the sheets, stains on the walls and the floors were sticky. The bathroom window was also broken, and we heard the club and event hall music all night long. The toilet paper holder wasn't even attached. The entire bathroom was also dirty and unkempt and we weren't given any towels or hand soap, which I felt was also insane. They also didn't provide basic room amenities like hair dryers or irons, which is insane. The provided wifi was also extremely slow or just didn't work. Getting around the hotel was super inconvenient. There was also no access to food in the after hours, not even a vending machine which is a danger to people who suffer from type 1 diabetes or low sugar. They are also doing construction, and I attached a photo of that too. It's horrific walking past that at night. The staff was generally unhelpful as well. I'm not sure if it's because hotels in Puerto rico are held to a lower standard than those of the mainland, but this hotel was completely lacking and below even the lowest of standards. In the parking lot, my car door was opened the first day, the second day we were made to park on the complete opposite side of the building, and the final day we saw another car get broken into. The pool was also another issue, the written rules stated that it closes around 6pm, and when we checked out we were told it actually closed at 9. This inconsistency is an issue as well. Overall I will not ever be staying here again or recommending this place to anyone. Book at your own risk.

Top 15 things we did not enjoy about Vista Azul in Aguadilla: 1. We had to take cold showers because it only heats up with solar and it was cloudy. 2. Paid for view and got a room with a view of construction materials 3. Told us it was renovated but rooms had holes everywhere, extension cords, old cracked tile, discolored ceiling, shower handle falling off, a dirty closet AND I had to buy flip flops to take a shower because it looked and felt gross. 3. The bathroom sink was way too low (and I'm short). There was no room to put toiletries. 4. No hair dryer or iron in the room. 5. The chairs in the room were uncomfortable and felt and looked like outdoor furniture. 6. No outlets near beds so the lamp on the bed side table couldn't be plugged in. 7. There was an unexpected step at the entrance to the room that both my husband and I tripped on. I have a bad knee so I was in discomfort for several hours. 8. The entrance to the room was a full glass door that let a lot of hall light into the room at night and felt like someone could have easily pushed their way in with no dead bolt and so much glass. 9. The balcony shade did not cover the door/window well so we were awakened by the sun. 10. The balcony door didn't have a screen so we couldn't open it without letting bugs in. 11. The TV wouldn't stay on and nobody came to attend to it (after they said someone would come the next day). 12. The cont breakfast had a tiny cup of fruit cocktail (no fresh fruit), no cereal, only a few slices of cheese, ham, bread and a few dried out tiny muffins, warm orange juice. The coffee did smell good but I couldn't have it because there was no lactose free option for creamer and it was way to strong to drink black. 13. The gift shop was a hot, tiny storage room that was so unorganized we actually sweat while searching for t-shirts. 14. Reservations/Communication were difficult because it only sends you to facebook and nobody answers calls. 15. The towels were very rough. The only reason the rating wasn't worse is because the employees were friendly and the music on the patio was enjoyable. We stayed in room 201

The real problem with this place, is that they are understaffed, and under construction. The amenities were fairly good, but I was turned off by the excessive use of plastic utensils and the conditions of the room. Chipped tiles and specks of hardened concrete gave it a tired flop house look. The beds are firm -but maid service is sporadic, which I suspect is due to understaffing. When the maid service is provided it's far from thorough. Dusting isn't done nor is thoroughly cleaning the bathroom. Keep in mind, the locals love this place for the bars and karaoke. The pool is a big hit with kids. If you are sensitive to loud music and partying, bring earplugs or skip it all together. They claim to have a chef but I question that. Seems to me, it may be a line cook. Lots of deep fried flavorless stuff and they need help with their Italian Fare. It seems like frozen heat and eat stuff. Everything I ate there was not good. If you're looking to eat fresh fruits and vegetables forget it. They may put some day old iceberg mix to your meal undressed and slightly brown on the edges. An interesting thing happened, when I returned to our room and wasn't paying attention to which door I was opening. My key opened the door next to my room. Possibly our neighbor left their room unlocked -but my room key fit perfectly into their room. So security is questionable. Shout out to Justin our favorite Bartender. He knows about customer service, but Zoraida at the front desk was not entirely helpful and apparently wasn't interested in providing good customer service for those of us from the States. She was very helpful to our Puerto Rican relatives though. If you want the full resort experience- Hotel Azul cannot currently provide that. If you are a local looking for a fun night, that's what they seem to be focused on.

Although he'd reserved a studio, when we arrived, we found we had been upgraded to a one-bedroom unit, as the studio's door was being repaired. Late check in was very easy. The property's deck is large and has a gorgeous view of the beach directly below. You really cannot beat the location of Villa Tropical on Shacks. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the deck whilst watching the sun rise in the mornings before grabbing our gear and walking down the short flight of steps to the sand. The gift shop within the office is a major time saver, too, when you need a drink or snack but don't want to drive. The Econo supermarket is only about an 8-minute drive away, though, when you do want to do a grocery run. It was awesome having a fully stocked kitchen and being able to cook and eat in most meals. We loved grilling on the deck at sunset! The Ola Lola restaurant is a cute spot a short walk away for food or drinks when one would rather skip cooking, too, and in each room, there is a very thorough guide compiled by the management with information on where to find all kinds of things in the area, from film development to entertainment. It was extremely convenient to be able to do laundry on the premises also. The staff are super helpful and maintain VT very well. Our unit (1B) was clean and comfortable, and by the end of our stay, we had fallen into a nice, homey routine. I was sad to leave and understand why Shacks is a place so many return to every year. The beach is clean, the big waves break far from the shore, there are interesting reefs for snorkeling, many days have adequate wind for kitesurfing, and there is a friendly surfer community among those who stay in the area both longer term and seasonally.

This is the best vacation spot ever! Super great accommodations and very helpful and friendly…read morestaff. The views are incredible and the resort is in a great location to get to jobos beach.

The hotel itself is incredible - location wise it's beach front with a pool and beautifully laid out. It accommodated my entire family to the max for an extended weekend through our wedding stay, including my uncle who is hard of mobility. He was able to stay in a room beside the pool which he loved ease of access to everything without having to go up any steps from the ground level. The staff is the most accommodating, especially the event planner, Graciela. She truly lives up to her name as she handles herself and her interactions with her clients with such grace, she is a ray of light in human form. Chris is also a wonderful host and you can truly tell he puts his heart and soul into making everyone's experience at Casa Islena a memorable one. And as for the food - phenomenal. The head chef Wesley clearly is passionate about his job and puts a very unique yet tasteful flair in every plate. Prior to having our wedding here, we already would dream about their poke bowls, empanadillas, and churrasco but post-wedding all of our guests were raving about the food being the best food they'd ever experienced at a wedding. There are truly not enough words I can say to express how perfect Casa Islena is in EVERY aspect. Pre- wedding as a guest of the restaurant/ poolside brunches and previous hotel stays I already would have rated it a 10/10. But post- wedding there is no number I can place on any scale to express how incredible it is. You'll just have to go there, and see for yourself. Thank you to all at Casa Islena for not making just my wedding day, but the entire week, the absolute best week of my lifetime. I am forever grateful.
