This hotel is under a different name now - the Kittanning Plaza Hotel. But you can definitely tell…read moreit was a big chain hotel at one point. It's in a fairly quiet location right near a Walmart and some fast food. The hotel itself seemed clean and the girl at the front desk was nice. The rooms are standard for hotels. It was clean enough and the bed was comfortable. Biggest issue with this location is the price. Kittanning is nowhere near anything remotely fun to do and is a good 40 minutes to Pittsburgh. I'm not sure why this place is priced so high. The only reason I can see anyone staying here is if they are visiting family in the town or if they are traveling through and are just exhausted. Okay, but not great, especially for the price.

The price is a full standard deviation higher than the other sister brands. It ain't worth the money. It's KITTANNING for crying out loud! A $115 a night hotel should be palatial. Say what you want about masks, if it is company policy to wear them, compliance becomes part of the brand. Signs all over the place requiring masks. Front desk staff are not wearing masks. Hey management, grow a pair and either enforce your policy or tear down the signs. They still charge full price during the pandemic, yet NO HOUSEKEEPING and no hot breakfast. Not even sure if they had more than 3 total employees on duty. Obviously IHG or the franchisee has figured out how to print money during the pandemic. Although there are promises of cleanliness throughout the hotel, the facts prove otherwise. The cutest little sleeve was on the TV remote, yet it felt so greasy I had to wipe it off with a towel. In the refrigerator was the half consumed remains of food fof some previous guest. Insects in the shower seemed to be having a good time. When such a great disparity between the corporate brand promise and guest experience occurs, it damages the the brand. In this market, IHG could dominate, but not like this. The staff was friendly and while there is always room for improvement, I had no complaints with the way they handled my stay. Business is a reflection of Management. My review says it all.

This is an older-style Hampton property, but it is clean, has large, spacious rooms and is well managed and maintained. This hotel has an Indoor heated pool with a hot tub, a fitness center with a good blend of older and newer cardio equipment, free weights, and features a Peloton that anyone can use with the hotel's account or their own account with a free account. My room was a large King suite with plenty of floor space, a refrigerator, coffee station, a separate sink and additional storage space. The wifi is a bit slow for my liking, but I was able to surf, check emails and do other general tasks. There is a premium Wi-Fi offer for higher-tiered members or for a daily fee. Breakfast is buffet-style with a choice of hot and cold offerings as well as cereals, breads, eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit and other items. Overall, a problem-free stay in a well-maintained property close to highways, gas stations, restaurants, schools and an outlet mall.

Why I can't give this 5 stars..... you will have a Red Hot Moment. No matter how low you set the thermostat, (we had the lowest) the air only ran 1 time at night. It's August guys. I can't imagine how warm July would have been. I finally woke up sweating and did donuts in the middle of the room trying to set off the sensors. It worked and at 3am we finally got air. The ac did not kick back on till 8am. The other setback are the thin ceilings. Think 5 year old running around at 6am on your ceiling.

The location is really convenient. A 5 minute drive will get you to dozens of places to eat (both unique and chain, sit down or quick service). The cafe and lobby area are very well maintained, and the front desk staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool is small, but clean and maintained perfectly. There's also a hot tub. Looking into the pool area is the workout room. As is generally the case, both require room key to enter. We booked a suite, which had a King bed and a sofa with pullout. Both the bed and the sofa faced a television. The sofa had a larger TV with game station hookups. My only complaint is that the photo and description of the suite showed a pull across room divider (to separate the couch area and bed), which was the primary reason we booked the suite. But there is no room divider at all; it's essentially one big open room. The room had a newer mini fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was updated and well stocked. The bed was fresh, and comfortable. Marriott could certainly take a few pointers from the Hilton brand - in app check in, app keyless entry, app requests, etc. However, our stay here was perfect and we would certainly stay again.

I was Very pleased with my choice, The Heritage House Suites! It was affordable for one night, close and very charming. The Master's Suite: 15 foot ceilings, large windows that had shutters for privacy ( which I Loved personally), beautiful hardwood floors, large square deep bath/shower, full kitchen with microwave, fridge, oven stove, coffee maker, dishes & silverware, two extra large wine glasses for the wine I brought along. The suite was quiet and very cozy. They offer free wifi, and free parking. They have a Beautiful wraparound porch to sit on during the afternoon or early evening but we didn't get a chance to enjoy, will the next visit !! We will definitely stay again as well as Highly recommend to family and friends... The only think I would suggest to management would be more of a cable or TV package, viewing was limited and nothing to watch. They offer a DVD player to watch a movie but we didn't bring any and the suites didn't offer any collection. ( bring your own movies ) Tracey was Wonderful !! Thank you for your help and patience on our arrival

I had the pleasure of staying two nights at Heritage House Inn and Suites, and I do mean…read more"pleasure." Sure, I could have stayed at a cookie-cutter chain hotel in this university town, but for just a few dollars more, I rented the Master's Suite, literally half of the second floor of this beautiful Victorian mansion, which came equipped with a huge sitting room, a full (private) bath, and a complete kitchen. The kitchen was the selling point for me when booking the room, since I'm on a strict diet and need to be able to cook fresh food (rather than rely on fast-food and takeout). To be clear, this is NOT a bed and breakfast. There are no common areas in the house, and the innkeepers do not provide meals. It's really more of a furnished rental, available for short and long-term stays in Indiana. Pros: Comfortable bed and sitting room furniture, full kitchen, WiFi, cable TV service, full bath, complimentary bottled water and snack basket, off-street parking, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Plus the staff is very friendly and helpful and their pre-arrival communications (confirmation emails) are excellent. Cons: Neither of these should reflect poorly on the innkeepers or Heritage House. But I have to mention them: 1. Noise. Bring your earplugs (I always travel with mine) because 6th Street is apparently a major artery and every pickup truck with a bad muffler in Indiana County must drive past the house between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. 2. Street construction. Indiana is tearing up a bunch of streets, including School Street, which requires the roads crew to barricade the street to any motor traffic. Unfortunately, Heritage House's private parking lot is accessed via School Street, so it's impossible to get to the Inn between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. According to Becki (who clued me to the secret of taking the alley halfway down School Street to escape the lot during the day), this construction has been going on for months, so be aware you may need to delay your arrival until after 5 or sundown, whichever comes firts. Bottom-line, this was a wonderful stay and I would heartily recommend Heritage House Inn and Suites to anyone looking for a comfortable, private alternative to the Comfort Inn.
