Walking in, there is a dive bar vibe with dollar bills stapled to the wall and lively atmosphere even on a friday during lunch time! Service was quick. I ordered the crabby patty and a sweet tea. The first thing i noticed upon receiving the sweet tea was that the cup wasnt fully clean, it was still kinda slick from maybe not being washed all the way through. I was the first to review Hott Leggz in 2011 when initially opened. Though it is somewhat divey, I gave it four stars back then and am happy to give it four stars again. It's in a location well known for having experienced every type of restaurant and bar failure in the past. I was doubtful Hott Leggz would make it selling frog legs and softshell crabs as their specialty, but not only have they made it, they've thrived. I confess that I simply adore a good dish of fried frog legs and Hott Legg'z delivered some of the best I've had. Though somewhat on the smallish side, they served a good full portion that came in a basket, all properly battered, fried, and prepared. There aren't that many places to get good frog legs around Lauderdale, with the only place nearby being Catfish Dewey's, and by comparison, I would rate those of Hott Legg'z as being better than those of Catfish Dewey's as their legs, though larger are smaller in the proportion of the dish served as well as tending to be much more on the greasy side. I was delighted to see that they have expanded their menu and added more varieties of burgers, drums-only wings, Po-boy sandwiches of oysters, Philly Cheesesteaks, Chicago-style dogs, and others. So, my four stars to Hott Leggz, again in this, my updated review. read more

Ordered the buffalo wings, medium, well done. Strangely they only come in one size of 10 wings. I guess you just order multiples of 10 in case you want more. Hott Leggz is such a great spot in Fort Lauderdale! We usually make it a point to stop at least once during our trip every year. The peel and eat shrimp with Old Bay and wings are amazing! Love the loaded tots too and they also have pretty good king crab legs. This spot can get packed and sometimes hard to find a table. I will say sometimes the TVs are too loud but it is a good spot to watch the game! Service has been good every time we have been there. The environment, wonderful, the drinks, cold and the food... you can argue with a wall if you think there's a better burger in Fort Lauderdale, the chicken wings have to be in the top 3 conversation. Another sneaky excellent recommendation would be the pretzel bites. If I had a nickel for every bad cheeseburger I've had at hott leggz, I'd be homeless. The food is decent bar food, but they have small roaches crawling on the chairs and walls, they admitted that their food (waffles) is frozen, and they automatically charge a gratuity and credit card fee (even if you're paying cash). I once enjoyed going to this restaurant until I met the manager after I won a bunch of the pull tabs from the machine they have and after I won a month passed and I went to claim and the manager could not be more unprofessional and condescending. Refused to pay out and and accused me of not buying the Pull Tabs from them. The place is extremely dirty and filthy with a biker bar feel that feels like any moment a fight will break out. DONT PLAY any of the games with them or bother to file a complaint with the nasty manager. read more

This is a dive bar, but don't let that turn you off. It's a great dive bar. Top-notch food, even for vegetarians. I had a Beyond burger and they brought out these excellent onion straws for the table. I covered the burger with them. Delicious. Drinks were nice and strong. Shots are substantial. The wait staff was excellent. We came in to pregame before a soccer game at Chase Stadium and wanted to watch another soccer game while we drank and noshed. No problem! They let us sit at the second bar at the back and changed two of the TVs for us. The short, brunette bartender with long hair and the quiet voice took very good care of us, checking on us frequently even though we weren't right there near the main bar. My friend was craving wings and so we decided to give this place a try. We were seated right away and they took our order pretty quickly. First of the place is way too loud cant even speak. I ordered some "jerk" jamaican wings well nowhere near jerk! Then switched it for thai chili and my friend ordered honey garlic and we were not happy with either flavor. The sauce was way too watery and not the flavor its supposed to be. We also ordered a side of tots and they were so dry and hard we barely ate it. So here we are a month later and wanted to give them another try for their lunch time menu and right as we walked in the female bartender said "hey guys you're more than welcome to come on inside but we don't have any food"...we looked at her and waited as if she was going to give a quick explanation as to why they don't have ANY Food...WTH? Did the power go out last night and the food got spoiled, did the food just walk out, etc...? So everyone in there is just drinking alcoholic beverages without even a salad, fries, or even peanuts at the bar??? Hilariously Sad. There quite a bit on the menu, many seafood items as well, crab legs are popular along with their burgers and wings. Po-boy caught my attention, love oysters and fried aren't easy to come by...there's a peppered egg and applewood bacon burger which has an very tasty and large. Nice size portions especially for the price. I'll be back! ..its definitely nice to know there's good food available even after 1am, I would of thought more places would be open a bit later then 10 or 11pm or even 12am in this area. Ordered 10 Lemon Pepper wings, a Oyster Poboy and 2 orders of fries. The wings weren't coated with anything so all the lemon pepper seasoning was at the bottom of the box. I recently tried the chicken wings at this restaurant, and unfortunately, I was not impressed. While the wings were drowned in sauce, the chicken itself lacked flavor. Additionally, the waitress behavior was unprofessional. She was overly touchy-feely with my husband, kept placing her hand on his back or shoulder, and being outright disrespectful. To the point my husband had to address the waitress. This type of behavior is unacceptable and detracts from the dining experience. I hope the restaurant takes these issues seriously and addresses them appropriately in the future. Not a place we would normally go but the food was great. Why do some of the sorta kinda grubby places have the best food. Go figure this was also the first place we've ate inside in over a year. Started with a crab cake. It was great and full of crab. Then iI got a Blackened Tilapia Po-boy. It was also great. Husband got a burger and it was gone in no time. Rum Runner was pretty good too.
