    Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
    Robert S.

I had heard about this place and I am so glad I went. The place was busy when we arrived with all parking spaces taken in their private parking lot, so we had to park at another lot (the waitress was really good about telling us which spaces were OK to use). We got a table on the outside patio and it was really pleasant. The food was delicious....I had a blackened salmon with vegetables and I would get that again and again..... My husband got a grilled chicken Caesar salad which was also delicious and our friend Bob loved his Mojo Chicken. The service was prompt and the prices were very fair. The bill comes with pricing for cash and also for credit cards...they gladly do separate checks as well. A great spot for comfort food......although they do have many healthy choices....

Been stopping by for years and never gave them props. A cute little place with outdoor and indoor seating. The best service without a doubt. Huge entree portions. Yummy soups and sammies. Tasty apps. I always try their soup of the day which today was shrimp & corn chowder. Decided to order the blackboard special: a spicy Thai chicken wrap. Fried chicken with a spicy slaw and lots of goodies. Mason Jar has the best sides. I chose steamed asparagus with bleu cheese. I could've eaten a plate of those for lunch. Dining companions had 1. bacon/cheddar burger 2. Waldorf salad. 3. salmon salad with beets and feta. A great lunch with good friends at Mason Jar Pub is a very nice day.

What a great hidden gem this is. People at the art store said we could not go wrong here and they were right. The place is bright, clean, and cozy. Nicely decorated-simple. The menu is varied with sandwiches, wraps, salads, and more. I chose the shrimp wrap. It was AMAZING. The shrimp was grilled and everything was so fresh. My friend had a chicken wrap and loved it just as much. We both got the sweet potato fries and they were out of this world! They were so good I ordered more to take home to the husband. Don't miss this place if you are in the area. It is so worth it.

As soon as we walk in the door, the place is very warm and cozy. Great selection of wines and beer. The waitresses helped us right away and we are big wing fans so we ordered three different kinds of wings and the Chef sent out a couple extras for us to taste and needless to say they did not disappoint. Everything was amazing. I highly recommend the chicken and the pasta The lemon pepper wings were my favorite. My husband loves a lot of sauce, but I'm more on the dry side, but everything was delicious ! The way were cooked to perfection because that is the most important beside the sauce If you're in this area, I would definitely give this place to go. It is so cute and quant , reminds me of my home back in Alabama and the chef definitely knows how to put all those delicious flavors together everything we had was to die for and we will Be back !

This restaurant is amazing. I've been here twice. There is so much to choose from on the menu that looks great. I need to come back 14 more times to try everything. Tammi and Michele were fantastic. If you don't try this place then you are missing out.

Unlike most folks, I'm not a big fan of their sister restaurant, the Mason Jar. I'd had a few not so good experiences there -- service and foodwise. So, I put off coming here thinking I'd be disappointed, as well. I can say wholeheartedly that this restaurant will now be one of my favorite places. We had a very good meal and service here. We came during the busy lunch hour. Almost every seat in the restaurant located on the south side of Oakland Park Boulevard was taken. Two seats opened at the counter, and we took them. This turned out to be a great vantage point to see all the different dishes coming out from the kitchen. Plus, we got to chat with our fellow diners and see what they were ordering and eating. We were greeted immediately and given menus. We ordered sodas and browsed the menus. My husband heard they had a meatloaf special and after getting a brief description ordered this. Meatloaf is one of his favorite dishes. A gal sitting next to me ordered their pork sandwich. It looked good on the menu, so I ordered this, as well. After ordering I found out that she'd never had this sandwich before, but that it had been recommended by the server. Our food came out fairly fast. His portion of meatloaf was large and came with two sides: his choice of mashed potatoes and gravy and corn bread. My sandwich came with my choice of one side: the corn bread. As the serving of meatloaf was quite big, I expected he'd eat half and take half home. He thoroughly enjoyed it. And ate every bit of everything on his plate. He said it was one of the best meatloaves he'd had. My sandwich was served on crusty bread. It was like an elevated Cuban sandwich. The copious amounts of chunky roast pork were fork tender. There was melted cheese and pickles on there, as well. The horseradish mustard was mild and moistened the sandwich. I might get the mustard on the side next time. The corn "bread" that we both got was amazing. It was a warm square that was more like corn pudding than bread. It was soft inside with lots of corn pieces. I should have taken an order of just this to go. One neighbor seated at the counter said I had to try their Brussels sprouts with pistachios next time. That's her favorite. They had a number of other daily specials on the board that also looked appealing. But the regular menu has lots of choices from soup and salads to wings and dinner entrees. Their fried chicken sandwich looked like it might have my name on it. We will definitely be returning back here. Great food and very good service. Can't wait to try more of their menu.

How is it that I've been here a few times and yet I've never left a review? Shame on me. If you are familiar with The Mason Jar, located on Federal Highway, then this spot is like its little cousin. Here you will find some of the same favorites, especially as it relates to those amazing side dishes...to include the very much loved and adored brussels sprouts with pistachios. If you have never had the latter and you typically are not much of a fan of brussels sprouts, then please give this side dish a chance. If you still don't like these brussels sprouts, then you truly do not like brussels sprouts and that should settle that question. For lunch, you will find lots of sandwiches and wraps, along with a nice salad and soup selection. Be sure to check out the chalkboard on the back wall as it will list the soup and lunch specials of the day. Our server was efficient and friendly. Today, I enjoyed the blackened mahi sandwich. The fish was fresh and cooked well. We were able to be in and out quickly as we had a meeting to get to. Unlike its cousin on Federal highway, more than likely you will not have to wait for a table. At least that's been my experience when I have gone here for lunch. Inside, it's fairly small (quaint?) with some tables as well as stools along a lunch counter. The decor is homey and country-esque with cute little knickknacks on the walls. Outside, you'll find tables under a shaded canopy. There is a decent amount of parking here as well. This is a great little lunch spot and one I like to return to when in the neighborhood!

There is a part of me that doesn't want to write this review because i want to keep this place hidden, but it's too good! I've been 5 times in the last few months because it had been consistently delicious and the service is always impeccable . It's also the only place i know where you can still get 10 wings and fries for $10!! I stumbled upon this spot after driving down Oakland and wanted to give it a shot. Small little side of the road spot, but comes with lots of charm. 6-8 tables inside, a bar and 6 tables outside. We prefer to sit inside due to the spot being right on Oakland so the noise can be a little much. The first time i went, i got the wing special. 10 crispy, meaty, flavorful wings with a huge portion of fries for $10!!! What a deal! I went with hot, teriyaki, minced garlic (my go to triple threat) expecting an up charge for mixing flavors and/or minced garlic but nope! Just $10!! Another time, the special was a shrimp poboy. 5-6 jumbo shrimp, lightly breaded, crunchy and seasoned unbelievably well. Topped with fresh veggies, mayo and the bread couldn't have been better! Again, served with a PILE of fresh fries I'll also throw some love at their jalapeño poppers. Normally i expect a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese/nacho cheese battered and fried. These are SO much better. It's almost like a piece of cheese with diced jalapeño in it, battered and fried. So crispy and then dunked in the ranch? YES PLEASE! I try and go back whenever I'm in the mood for wings or just want a good, solid meal. I'll be back as long as they are open!

Even though it is a freestanding restaurant, I am told that it can be difficult to find a spot. The venue offers live music on weekend evenings, but we finished eating before it began and were too tired to stay. The restaurant oozes the Irish pub decor and theme. Our waiter, Jordan, was exceptionally friendly and jovial. And he was a master at suggesting alcoholic beverages, once you let him know your likes. We had 2 orders of Irish potato soup, 2 Shepherd's pies with cheddar cheese, 2 orders of the Guinness beef and mushroom pie, 1 cabbage rolls, and one fish and chips. The soup was filled with bacon bits and creamy and luscious. The Guinness pot pies were a bit small, especially because they were so savory. The accompanying mashed potatoes did not come with gravy and there wasn't enough from the pot pies to cover it. The veggies that came with all the entrees were freshly made and without any seasoning. (But it is better to add salt and pepper than to try and remove it.) The fish was a decent size serving, but again, no real seasoning. Nothing that some salt, pepper, and malt vinegar couldn't rectify. The coating was light and crispy. Our alcoholic beverages (Guinness, wine, and a couple of specialty cocktails) were thirst quenching and satisfying. (I loved my prickly pear margarita.) Dinner for 6, including 2 soups, 6 entrees, 8 drinks, tax, and tip was $300.
