I called around and found CrossFit SISU in Plymouth. It wasn't the closest CrossFit gym to me, but it had great reviews and the schedules they offered seemed to fit with my day. They put me on a one week trial. I was in constant contact with Christina. She answered my questions throughout the trial process. After the first few days, I fell in love with CrossFit and SISU. The workouts are amazing and highly motivating. There are no dull days. The coaches are super friendly and help me work around my injuries by tailoring the workouts to my needs. A few months ago, a female rep of the Rogers/Elk River clubs (I believe it is Jennifer Mueller, who…read moreowns these clubs, as she fits the behavior description below) called and harassed me about signing up at another location (after multiple attempts to reach her or anyone at the Rogers location). She angrily quizzed me about where I live, how much I was paying, where I'd be working out, etc. I told her she was extremely inappropriate. Needless to say, I have avoided going to the Rogers or Elk River Clubs due to Jennifer's bizarre behavior. (I've since learned this is par for the course for her to be abusive to those who don't sign up with her. So she figures out ways to violate the Anytime policy of club reciprocity? I'm guessing that's going to be an issue for her with the franchisor). But despite not wanting to be around Jennifer, our local club is undergoing renovations so today I stopped at the Rogers club. Just now, I got an extremely rude email telling me they had done a "security sweep" (reviewed security footage) and threatened that I faced a cleaning fee or lock-out because I had violated some kind of shoe policy that required a change of shoes upon entering the club. Um, first, my shoes are new and clean and it was dry outside when I came in. Second, there was a male staff person onsite I interacted with who didn't tell me anything about such a policy. Third, this club isn't that clean anyway, so acting like anyone could ruin it by not changing shoes is a bit much (I spent years at a high-end club in Minnetonka that never raised an issue like this with members). Fourth, I was the only person (that I saw) who was wiping down each machine after I used it. I'm sure if I hadn't, Jennifer would have threatened me over that, too (by the way, I didn't even see any cleaning wipes at this location...I had to spray down paper towels to use). Finally, it is pretty sketchy that they just happened to decide to do a "security sweep" and suddenly noticed someone not changing shoes who they previously chastised for not signing up with them. From what I hear about Jennifer, she saw a name of someone entering the club who hadn't signed up with her, got mad, and watched video of me throughout the entire time I was there, looking for something to criticize. Has she yelled at all the people who didn't bother to wipe down machines? I'm betting not. Now, that's more of a hygiene issue than clean dry shoes. Retaliation much? Jennifer needs to get some training on how to effectively deal with the public. And maybe she needs to get some help with her issues, too. UPDATE: Now Jennifer is (on google reviews) denying all of this, denying any contact with me, and threatening to sue. Hilarious! Bring it, Jennifer. Discovery will be delicious! This place is the worst. The owner or manager is overly strict, locking members out for minor…read morereasons. I visited the gym twice and was unexpectedly locked out on my third visit, without any explanation or warning. Today, I experienced the same problem as two other members: one was locked out for wearing gym shoes, and another for letting in a friend, who is also a member. It's both upsetting and frustrating not knowing why you've been locked out or if your fob will unlock the door--especially when you're just trying to work out. Something needs to be done about this--members aren't your kids
