Darn me for trusting the staff with the TOS. I was told that it was only a 3 month commitment, so when black Friday rolled around and I decided to purchase pricey home gym equipment after about my fourth month- I thought nothing of it. Of course this fine print took me by surprise so I haven't had time to read my contract, yet- but they got a new manager in, so I can imagine the one who signed me up messed up a few people. So for those of you that need the "skinny" lol: -The workouts are hot, which really does wonders for your skin but does not "burn" the calories as you might feel or think it does. (so they detox part is true, but not increased calorie burn, as they advertise) - YOU ARE COMMITTING TO ONE YEAR - The app is terribly wonky, and most of the features don't work...at all - if you are tall, you best make sure you aren't sharing a room with ANYBODY, as you won't fit facing the screen. - They want YOU to wipe everything down, which leads me to believe they never do or hopefully they sometimes do, IDK -I did mostly studio exercises- and the instructors are pretty dang annoying and seem to even talk down to you in their efforts to empower. In all, as my two stars suggest- I don't recommend Hotworx, mostly based on the $60 monthly fee read more

Updating my review as I've been coming back recently and all aspects have been improved! This location now offers different drawing incentives and challenges monthly, saunas are on and ready when arriving for my scheduled workout, and day staff is interactive and friendly. Staff is super nice, you get your own private room right now due to COVID, masks are not required but allowed, hand sanitizer provided, showers are closed and so is the public water fountain, but the bottle filling station is still running. Provide sanitize spray and plenty of towels for members to clean up after themselves, total control of your heat, pace, and which room to schedule, love the app, super easy to schedule a room, and easy to get in and out with just a door code. Signing up for this gym was one of the worst decisions of my life. After relocating out of state to be closer to family during COVID, I cancelled my membership. (No HotWorx anywhere near the area I moved to.) During this time, the gym was shut down so I was unable to walk into the building to cancel my membership. I emailed the manager explaining my situation and put in writing that I'd like to cancel and she refused stating I needed to come in. Again, they were shut down so this wasn't an option. Also--I now live states away, and it would be ridiculous to book a flight just to cancel a gym membership, right? I'll try and attach the email correspondence from the owner... it's crazy. I've tried calling to cancel and they're unavailable. I literally changed my credit card number to get the payments to stop, and somehow they're still charging me. $60/month for the past 2 YEARS!!!! My bank issued a stop payment request that they declined. Obviously they can see I haven't been to their gym in 2 YEARS.... THIS IS CRIMINAL. So I booked a flight across the country, just so I can walk into their business to tell them I'm cancelling in person, and fly back home. It was either that or literally closing my bank account. read more

Great atmosphere and equally great workouts. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the variety of workouts, I'm down ten pounds and have strengthen my core muscles so much that my sister commented that I no longer walk bent over. read more

Proceed with caution when signing up for a membership with this location. During quarantine, over the phone I called to cancel and was talked into freezing my account for about $10/mo. This would preserve my $69/mo rate. Since COVID-19 was new, I decided to freeze instead of cancel just in case circumstances changed for me to return. I was told I could keep it in this status until October 2020. On 9/24/20, I went to the location and spoke with the manger to cancel (you must cancel in person). She informed me that I'd have to pay Oct and Nov fees. I explained that is not what I was told during quarantine: I had until October to cancel free and clear. The manager informed me that the prior manager was giving incorrect info (basically, lying) to keep people from canceling. She said she'd confer with the owner and call me back. The manager didn't have me sign anything (so why do we need to come in instead of cancelling over the phone? Is this to simply deter cancellations?) I received no call. Today, I called and spoke to another employee. (Per her words: She's just the messenger.) She told me my options are to pay $99 flat cancellation fee or pay $69 in Oct. and Nov. She told me the prior manager was fired for lying to members like me and bc I have nothing in writing, I must pay. This is where it stands-- I am completely disappointed in this organization, mainly because they acknowledge that there was a problem and their customers were taken advantage of, yet they are willing to do nothing to make it right. I was happy to be at Hotworx. COVID took this experience away and the customer service at this location made it even worse. Get everything they say IN WRITING. read more

I've been a member here for a year. When I joined I was skeptical. I generally exercise outside ( biking, running, etc) as I am always uncomfortable at gyms or studios. I really wanted something different for strength training so I decided to try it out. A year later and I feel stronger, and look stronger too. It's helped me so much with anxiety and self confidence! I absolutely love the different workouts available. My favorites are hot bands, hot Pilates, and hot cycle. Last year, before the virus, the saunas had room enough for three people at a time. It could get a bit cramped with three people but still a great work out. Now the limit is one person per room, which I have come to prefer. I'm sure that will change when the virus is gone, but I'm sure enjoying the solitude. If you are looking for something different I highly suggest you check it out! read more

Love, love, love it! I'm not a huge fan of working out, but since I joined 10 months ago I am now at the point that I go daily! Membership is affordable and if you occasionally travel the option to "bump up" you membership for a short period of time allows you to work out on travel at a very reasonable rate! read more

The staff is super friendly. There are a variety of workouts and 24 hour access! The studio is always clean, and I've seen awesome benefits from the infrared saunas! The workouts are challenging, and you'll definitely feel like you've earned the burn afterwards! read more

I am giving this review after one year of membership. I recently cancelled and here are my pros and cons. Most of my cons are with the concept/the corporate franchise versus the local owners, who are very nice people. Pros: the heated saunas feel very nice in the winter time. It is exhilarating to do a hot workout and come out into the cold. The sauna is relaxing. I did feel more flexible when doing exercises in the sauna. Staff did not try to upsell me when I cancelled. Nice mix of different classes with 24/7 access. The local franchise owners and staff are very nice. Facility is relatively clean, although it can get gross during non-staffed times. Franchise owners didn't charge when closed for COVID. Cons: Difficulty scheduling: while there are a lot of "slots," there are prime times. I really enjoyed about half of the ISO classes and it was difficult to secure times that worked in classes that worked. Often I would show up, having been unable to secure a favorite, only to see that someone booked and did not show up. Saunas: The saunas are enjoyable in the wintertime. In the summer, it did not feel good to be there. Likewise, doing cardio in a 125 degree room did not feel good or healthy. It is up to the customers to keep the saunas hot. That means if the person before you turns it up or down, or no one was in there before you, it will not be a the correct temperature when you start. App: The app is glitchy and does not synch correctly with watch/fitbit for calories. It pretty much never worked correctly and I question how accurate it really is. Cancellation Policy: The contract requires 60 days notice. But if you cancel mid month, they will still bill you for two whole billing cycles. You also have to walk in (where staff is not wearing masks) to cancel. Repetition: This is a big one. There are 8 body weight classes and 2 equipment classes that run on a loop. These classes are the same every time and rarely change. For example, in my year of membership, the yoga and pilates classes changed twice over the course of a year. Others changed only once. If you have your favorites, they get extremely repetitive. The cardio equipment class is the same. every. time. When we did get new videos, the new classes were barely different than the previous version. During COVID, I started using online content with new classes every day. Once I returned, it made classes that were already starting to get stale even more boring. COVID Precautions: while it is wonderful that people can work out on their own in the sauna, I still have questions about the ventilation and whether these rooms are really separate. I was happy to return after COVID, but I stopped visiting with any frequently and then all together because the facility did not mandate masks in the (very small) common areas and staff never wear masks -even though there is a county mask mandate. Customers are encouraged to wipe the saunas, but many do not. Most customers don't wear masks in common areas. It is just not worth the risk. read more

Soo I've only been a HOTWORX member for approximately one week and I'm absolutely addicted already! This is definitely what my body and mind needed. I haven't been this excited about working out in a long time. I love having access 24/7 and being able to sign up on the app.

I have been looking for a place to keep me motivated to return to three-four times a week for work outs. This is it!!! I have been so happy with the variety, I have yet to be bored of any of it. I joined HotWorx because I enjoy the small class sizes and the flexible class times work around my busy schedule. I really enjoy the infrared energy and heat while working up a sweat and detoxing. I always walk out of the sauna feeling refreshed and full of energy! I love HotWorx! read more
