Houni's is my go to for light, flavorful dessert options with personal treats, quart and gallon size "save it for later" options, and available for your next event. On opening day of "new add in's" and launching their summer flavors, I ordered a peach gelati with vanilla soft serve, and added in gummy bears. Each layer had gummy bears and they were still chewy goodness for each bite. Houni's vanilla soft serve is perfect for soft serve lovers, and is a great addition to any Italian ice. The peach Italian ice has the perfect consistency for Italian ice and doesn't leave you with excess juice. The flavor tastes just like a fresh South Carolina peach. Houni's can do no wrong. I'm a Philly girl, so getting me to approve of water ice in the south is not easy, but this place has done it. I honestly can't even drive down Woodruff Road now with my mouth started to water for a gelati. I've had so many different flavors, and I've loved them all - watermelon, mango, strawberry, pineapple, orange, the list goes on. I saw a picture of Houni's gelati with vanilla soft serve, mango ice and pineapple ice. After realizing that Houni's is less than 1.5 miles from my house and it would be a fun after dinner convertible ride, we pulled up. But there is very little parking at Houni's. It is a short walk to the Planet Fitness (old Bilo) parking lot with plenty of spaces, but we did the drive through. Order at the window. Multiple flavors available. Soft serve was smooth and creamy, thick enough but still soft. Italian ice was flavorful. We will be back - and we have the frequent visitors rewards card. read more

I absolutely LOVE Houni's!!!! They have the best soft serve I have ever had. And the Italian ice flavors are out of this world! The combo is amazing! I've tried all different flavors and combos. I've even tried the chocolate soft serve in some, and I haven't had one yet that was bad. Some are stronger in flavors than others, which is good because I like strong flavors and my boyfriend doesn't. The staff is very friendly and very helpful if you have questions. Don't know what to get? They will tell you what is popular or what they like. If you want multiple flavors in one, that is no extra charge. They have some popular combos listed when you go there. Houni's is tucked in a smaller standalone building just off Woodruff Road (near Cookout). The brightly colored exterior makes it easier to spot! It has a drive thru ordering option which makes it a quick treat or there are seats if you want to stay and enjoy on site! There are so many different flavors of homemade italian ice to choose from and they offer several different size options whether it is single serve or packed up to go home in a quart or half gallon container. The menu showcases all of the flavors and then has options for italian ice, gelati, or softserve. I asked what gelati was and the sweet girl at the window explained it as being italian ice layered with softserve. Since I was getting a quart to go I opted for straight italian ice, but I bet the creaminess of the softserve would really balance well with it! They have a walkup window to order and an outdoor patio with seating. However, there are very few parking spots adjacent to the building (the majority of nearby spots are marked with signs reserving them for other businesses). There is a large somewhat vacant parking lot just behind the building so I might suggest parking and walking the few feet over if you don't want to go through the drive thru. read more

Yup. This is hands down one of my favorite dessert places in Greenville. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and I've been multiple times. The wait time for the drive through can be a little long sometimes but it is completely worth it (and understandable due to the nationwide staff shortages). The combination of Italian ice and soft serve seemed weird to me at first, but I decided to give it a go and tried the Hounis Classic - blue raspberry and pineapple Italian ice layered with vanilla soft serve. Stopped by on the way back home from a road trip and enjoyed some of the best italian ice I've ever had! I got a medium gelati with strawberry and watermelon. The Italian ice was fine. Im more on here to leave a review for customer service an Ambiance at Simpsonville location. We ordered an got our food an they had no outdoor seating an there is 0 indoor seating. The restaurant next door had seating outdoors so we sat there but it was wasp infested. My son who is potty trained and only has underwear on needed to use the bathroom. I asked the ladies if I could use the bathroom otherwise he would pee himself as he is 3 an newly potty trained. They were un compassionate an showed no remorse and told me I couldn't take him to use the bathroom. Lost my business. Absolutely ridiculous read more

Service was friendly, but extremely slow with the one guy manning the counter clearly overwhelmed by the volume of walk-in customers while one girl worked the steady flow of drive thru customers. They really could use the help of an additional employee to assist during peak times so there isn't such a long wait to be served. Didn't seem to be a manger on site unless that was the person in charge, which would explain the lazy, uninspired vibe of the staff. At least the coffee was hot.
