I'm a member at Hourglass Women's Wellness in White Plains and really enjoy the experience and am happy I joined! The gym is always clean, well-maintained, and offers a range of services like a large fitness area with tons of cardio machines, weights, and strength training equipment, two bathrooms & lockerrooms, and saunas (my favorite to do after class), and variety of classes. Plus there optional add-ons at $ to enhance your wellness routine. There is also a hair salon, nail salon, and smoothie area, daycare, and more to meet women's needs. My favorite classes are Monday's Core & More and Thursday's Body Shred Bootcamp led by Sam. She brings the kind of energy and intensity I've experienced at top NYC studios and is incredibly kind and relatable. If you need to make adjustments to the workouts, she's always willing to help and accommodate. Her classes have upbeat music and a motivating atmosphere. Sam's positivity, energy, and engaging style make each workout fun and challenging, which is what I'm looking for. I've noticed a big difference since taking her classes and look forward to them every week. Jessy's yoga classes are another highlight, providing a peaceful, calming experience that's perfect for unwinding. Enilida also leads some good HIIT and bootcamp classes as well, plus I believe belly dancing has been added for a fee, which is cool. My minor recommendation for an opportunity to improve would be to balance the class instruction in both English and Spanish (including the music) so it resonates with all attendees, as most of the class is currently in Spanish. A slightly faster pace might help it feel more like a focused workout, as it can sometimes lean towards feeling like a social hour for some. Regardless, I've still gotten a good workout and appreciate that she's very nice, kind, and funny. I still need to try some of the other classes like cycling and Wednesday bootcamp. There is a lot of Zumba too (like everyday) for this who like that, personally it's not my preferred style as I lean towards high intensity, Bootcamp type classes. It'd be great if at some point the team considered adding boxing/kickboxing class or just a boxing bag to the floor (since it's noted on the website). They also offer hot yoga and a few other classes at cost. Hot HITT could be fun too! Overall, it's a fantastic all-women's gym. The current membership skews a bit older (Gen-X, Boomer) and there's nothing wrong with that, but there's great potential to attract a younger crowd (Millennials like me & Gen-Z) as well through the type of classes. Highly recommend Hourglass Wellness for women looking for a supportive and fun workout environment. I received an email invitation from Hourglass Women's Wellness on South Broadway for a party tonight from 5:30 to 9 pm. I got there and the manager showed me around and gave me the membership fee. I told her I was going to think about it. The woman was pressuring me to make a decision but I didn't have my credit card on me and also I didn't want to commit because I am traveling abroad this summer. I have previously signed up in 2019 and visited again this year to sign up. In 2019 it was a pleasant experience. Currently it was horrible. I asked 4x " what happens if I cancel outside of extenuating circumstances " the response was deflection city. Finally I said " let me see the agreement " and when I asked about the month-to-month option, the owner, or whomever it was that " had to be called " to answer that got defensive " why would you want month to month when you live nearby?! " Horrendous. This place should be investigated by law enforcement agencies and shut down!! I signed up and within one month 75% of the classes initialed offered were eliminated. I was doubled and triple billed for several months and then the Albanian Shrepesa owners doubled talked me for several weeks back and forth through the billing center in Thailand and Arkansas before I threatened to call the police. I paid an additional $300.09 for 20 hot yoga classes that were cancelled and now a year layer I have to sue them in White Plains small claims court for a refund. SIX MONTHS AFTER I CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP FOR THEIR FAILURE TO PROVIDE ADVERTISED SERVICES.... I initially signed up for the yoga classes on the weekends and the fitness classes that I only go to in the summer. I've attended both for over a year now. The gym is well kept and clean. The staff is welcoming and friendly. This gym has a lot to offer. HOWEVER, the lack of respect and courtesy for clients' time is disgraceful. When a class is canceled or changed, whether they know the morning of or the night before, they won't take the time to send an email or text their clients to let them know. Is it really too much to ask for? There's no excuse for this lack of communication in this day and age. It's been suggested over and over. They just don't care. It's inconsiderate and unprofessional. This is the only reason I hesitate to recommend this gym to anyone. read more

If you join this gym, you will have a super hard time cancelling your membership, regardless of what the contract says. I wish to cancel my membership due to COVID - they did not charge us during the NYS shutdown, but then started charging us again without asking if we wanted to continue. They don't seem to have installed any extra COVID safety measures such as air filters, although they do seem to be requiring masks, but that is not enough for me. I'm concerned they are not taking COVID seriously. They're having an indoor holiday potluck, for Pete's sake. So far this is what I have experienced trying to quit: 1. October 17, 2020 - I emailed the gym at their published email address, which bounced back. 2. November 24, 2020 - I read the fine print of the contract and, as it requests, sent a letter outlining my reasons via Certified Mail to an address in Colorado. I also sent a copy of this letter to the gym itself. Neither letter was accepted (the Colorado address was no longer valid and the letter was returned) and I did not get a return receipt from the gym. I suspect the USPS person could not find anyone to sign for it. 3. December 12, 2020 - I had called the gym several times with no answer and no way to leave a voice mail. I finally got a real person on December 12 who wouldn't talk to me about my cancellation and said she needed to have the manager call me back. It is now December 18 and no one has called me back. 4. December 18, 2020 - I had hoped that the manager had simply cancelled my membership as I requested, but I got charged again. I called the number on my credit card statement and reached someone (I think at a billing company) called Marvin. Marvin could not cancel my membership without my having filled out some paperwork AT THE GYM where I do not want to go due to COVID. He gave me the phone number of the owners and I have left a voice mail there. I am so frustrated that I am leaving this review hoping it will help others. read more

No air conditioning, no pool, no hot tub, and no weekend yoga classes (only hot and Ariel yoga are offered weekends) If you want to boost your membership, add classes that fit into working women's schedules. That means after 7 PM and full class offerings on Saturday and Sunday. So disappointed. Also, the gym is overcrowded with WAY too many machines, which is ironic because there is hardly ever anyone there. Smoothie bar is a nice touch so I added a star. read more

I love this gym! They have so many nice amenities including a very nice smoothie bar which by the way I had one of the coconut mavas and it was extremely delicious! It located right across from the Wetchester Mall on South Broadway. There a Sauna, SaltCave, Daycare and a very beautiful spa in the wellness center. You must go there if you haven't yet it's the largest women's facility in White Plains. read more

Tried cancleling- instead had to call MULTIPLE times to get things rectified and every time I called they either 1. Did not answer (with a full mailbox might I add) or 2. Said someone was going to call me back in 5 mins and never did. Plus their email doesn't even work. Very disappointed with my membership here, when I signed up I was told they were extending their morning hours and that the saunas would be ready "soon". They never extended their hours and they had a subcontractor use the wrong paint in the saunas (eek!) so they were closed for a long time. This is really only an issue for me, not everyone, but the way that it's been handled was very poor, a lot of excuses and I've felt ignored and pushed off. Here is my last message to the manager which has gone unanswered (sent 2 months ago): Hello - Today at the gym there was no toilet paper in one of the bathrooms, I mentioned it to the front desk and she said it was on order(!). The lock on one stall is broken. The mats are pretty dirty, one was super dirty and had something spilled on it and I left it at the front desk. There are no wet wipes or cleaning spray to wipe things down so I think the staff should keep things clean. 2 of the elliptical machines did not work correctly, one starts to make loud noise and is off balance when you get up to speed, the other wouldn't speed up past level 1 (I told the front desk about this as well). There was also no kettle bells heavier than 15 lbs. Was told again by the front desk that they were going to be ordered. We spoke about this maybe 3 months ago (i have been requesting these since March) and I was told they would be ordered that day and "my name would be put on them" (not necessary but it sounded like it was going to get done). It was just an overall shitty experience today, I'm super unhappy with my membership. The last time we spoke on the phone, the manager mentioned all these other activities, which I'm not interested in (i.e. dance classes with my husband). I just want a solid enjoyable gym experience. Without the sauna and without the earlier hours that I was told were happening, I think I've been very reasonable asking for kettle bells. I'm paying for a gym that I can basically only get to a few times a month and when I do get there, it's such a bummer! read more

Joining this gym you might as well join a cult because they'll never let you go. I specifically told them I go to college ON THE ORHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY, before signing up. She said no problem you can put the account on hold when you're at school. I've been at school since August it is now November and they have charged me for every single month. I have called I have emailed I have done everything and gotten no response. Sometimes they charge me $35 other times they charge me 65 depending on how they feel that month. When I do call the woman at the front desk seem to have little to no answers they tell me the same thing every time "i'll write it down in the system, for the manger" I don't know who this manager is I've never seen or never spoken to her but obviously her "system" doesn't work. I'm guessing she doesn't let the girls at the front cancel memberships upon request because she wants to keep everybody's money as long as possible, so she makes the process extra long extra hard so she can scam you out of your money even if you're just a college student. If i could give it ZERO stars, i would. No air conditioning & they have no plans to fix it - it's actually cooler OUTSIDE than in this gym. Also nobody thought to put in something as basic as a water fountain - but don't worry - they DID think to put a vending machine in the women's locker room so you can pay $2 every time you want some water. Very thoughtful...they thought of that but couldn't put a simple bench in there for you to sit on or put your things on as you change. read more
