They show up for their appointments on time and stay in touch with you by phone and/or text, etc. See our previous review from 7/15/2024. When we call Mike, if he is available he comes that same day to review the work that needs to be done. Communication with him and his team is great. It might say House Doctors, but they do interior and exterior work. This time we had an exterior sliding door that the wood trim around it needed to be replaced. Ken totally replaced and painted the outer frame. Mike saw a few of our siding strips that need a little work and paint. They took care of everything at the same time. No projects are too small and they always have great suggestions. Hired Mike and his crew to help me convert a large bonus room in my house into a home gym/teaching studio. As is often the case with any contracting type of work there are often delays and hiccups, and occasional mistakes along the way. Mike was fantastic with communication and when things didn't turn out quite right the first time (wrong hardware or missing pieces etc), he was quick to fox the issue without charging me for it. I've used House Doctors twice now. The first time was about a year ago when I used them to do some sheetrock repair in my previous house which had some cracks due to foundation settling over many years. I'm sure their excellent work was a factor in a quick sale. Now a year later I used them to install a grab bar in the shower of my new place. Usually this is something I would do myself, but because it required drilling through ceramic tile, and not wanting to go out and buy special drill bits, and not wanting to risk breaking or cracking the tile, I decided to give House Doctors again. I'm sure glad I did. They did the work quickly and professionally, and at what I considered to be a very reasonable price. This is the worst company ever. I called them and set up an appointment. They came out to my house and gave me a bid. I accepted the bid and then they set an appointment. They missed the first two appointments and foolish me went for a third. They showed up the day I called and the person fixing my repair was slower than mollases. Yes you got it! I was having to pay by the hour not the job! One of my door handles was stuck from moisture in the handle. He drilled out the area where the lock comes into the door. It took him one and one half hours. This was a ten minute job. Sorry I asked. Just taking the window boards out of the window took him one and a half hours. On these two minor jobs the technician utilized all of the time in the bid and NOTHING was repaired. He left to go buy the materIals and I never heard back from him. I called the next day and the day after that and was assured that the owner would call me back. When the owner called he lied to me and told me he had been calling the day before. I have a cell phone and nothing was recorded or time stamped. That was it!. I do not want liars and slow workers in my home. The owner tried to excuse the slowness and the leaving by saying that I was on the phone and that is why there was no contact about returning and that the first time was just an assessment and If I did not pay his bill of $300 he would place a lein on my property. I do not want this company near me or my home. I do not deal with unprofessional people who lie and try to make excuses for their lazy behaviour!
