It was an amazing time filled with praise, worship, testimonies, and great speakers. (The picture is of the stage during the conference) Service times are Sundays at 10am. They have childcare if needed. The staff and volunteers are AMAZING! Very welcoming, ready to answer any of your questions, and ever filled with the Spirit. The entire church is beautiful and welcoming. The sanctuary is so peaceful and seating is very comfortable. They have a cafe/coffee shop and the coffee is very good. They also have a bookstore fully stocked. Pastor Ben is a great fit for the church. Go to their website to read about their beliefs, ministries, history, calendar, and much more. Even though it was locked and secured on a Sunday afternoon, I could still walk the grounds and take in the building from every angle, and the setting adds to its charm with the older residential streets and the Atchafalaya River only a few blocks away. The historical marker in front reads, "Originally the Methodist Episcopal Church. Built in 1886 by sugar cane plantation owenr Capt. John N. Pharr and wife Henrietta. They donated the church building and land to the Methodists in 1899." Today the congregation worships in a building that is both a local landmark and a rare surviving example of 1880s church construction in St. Mary Parish. The marker itself was erected in 1986 and carries no number, but it anchors the site's history in a way that complements the building's continued use. Modern listings note that Twin City Gospel Temple was founded as a congregation in 1951 and has occupied this historic structure for many years, maintaining regular services and preserving the building's role in the community. I wanted to check out the inside but it was locked unfortunately. I love visiting these old historic churches especially the ones you can still freely walk inside and see the old pulpits and pews that have sought to save generations of families no matter the faith...
