I love chatting with her because we laugh between the rips - I am tempted to yell out OH KELLY CLARKSON - but it has never been more than a bit of a discomfort. We did my underarms this time too and that was quick and effortless. The only think I have to say is that the shop always seems like it is under construction. It never feels like it is fully in business. The newer building space (one building over maybe 20 ft away) is bigger and a nicer space. It just is still unfinished. They had wipes in the bathroom of the old shop too so that you could freshen up if it was later in the day. They do supply snacks and drinks while waiting which is a nice touch. I do adore Sofia. She has been a gem and made my experience so great. We even discuss our favorite online gal - the waxing queen. If you are looking for someone to actually talk with you before and during your experience who will make you laugh, Sofia is wonderful.

I was specific and reiterated, a couple of times, that I had a sensitive scalp. (While processing the hair was so unbelievably painful, I cried.) The stylist obviously didn't know what she was doing, hence very substantial hair loss. I had a beautiful mane of hair, now I am almost bald. The next morning I went into the salon to ask what I could do to stop the burning, blistering, and the rapid hair loss and was treated with hostility and aggressiveness. Never in my life have I been treated so deplorably - I still have no understanding as to why - I think they might have been overly defensive. Shocked and disappointed is an understatement and, obviously, I will not be going back. I did speak to a lovely stylist - at another salon - who suggested I try rinsing my hair with Apple Cider Vinegar. What? Vinegar? It WORKED! The blistering, burning, and hair loss subsided. If this ever happens to you try using that.

While I understand paying for quality, it's frustrating that gel polish is still a $15 upcharge. At this point, who even uses regular polish anymore? By the time you add the gel upgrade and tip, a basic pedicure ends up costing around $95. That said, the salon itself is a much nicer environment than many others charging similar prices. At least here you're paying for a beautiful, updated space instead of sitting in a salon surrounded by storage boxes or outdated furnishings.

Add the mini facial massage (Deluxe package) and you have a 75 minute golden ticket of self-care. Just Relax Massage and Spa, in Spring Hill, is nested in an office park just off Mariner Road. Its spa like interior is quiet and easy on the eyes. I was really happy to see that as too many spas, in the area, are a sad attempt at what a spa should look like. A spa experience is for the body and the spirit and Just Relax Massage and Spa recognizes that. My appointment was with Jasmine and she greeted me at the desk,I filled out paperwork and she escorted me to the room for my Head spa and mini facial. Calming spa music was on the speaker, and she shared how the process would unfold and ensured me that everything, from the temperature of the heated table, the water, and the room was easily adjusted to my needs. Jasmine began with the mini facial and it was heavenly, especially the hot towel wrap, she then began with the head spa and it truly was heavenly. The lotions and potions used was such a treat and I could feel the nerve endings in my scalp do a happy dance. Half way through she then worked down my neck, across my shoulders and to my finger-tips with a massage. She then returned to my head massage, another shoulder massage and then finished up with the last half of my mini facial. I was a happy puddle when she helped me sit up. You will leave a head spa massage with wet hair but Relax Massage and Spa provided you with a towel to wrap your head or place on your shoulders as you drive home. Additionally, they provide you with the wide tooth comb used on your scalp during the massage. My face felt as smooth as glass (not bad for 72 years of wear) and my hair was like fine silk after the head spa. I cannot say enough about this experience and am a huge advocate for this type of self-care as it is so good for your mental health as well as your physical health.
