After spending a couple days sleeping in the hospital, the manager of our leasing office (Jen at Timber Ridge-also amazing) asked if we had another place to stay in the meantime and we didn't. She reached out to Ella at Housing Helpers and thankfully there was a fully furnished unit available immediately. Ella reached out to me basically instantly, offered to give me a tour, and sent over a thorough explanation of what was included in the rental cost (which frankly is a VERY good deal in Boulder). While I was working on submitting the lease/documentation/etc., they sent someone over to make sure the unit was completely ready for someone in our situation (cleaned, stocked with linens, towels, kitchenware - everything you need for a place). This was all happening at 4pm on a Friday. It took me a bit of time to get everything in and just because of timing stuff on my end, I couldn't get my payment in before their office closed. I thought I'd have to find a hotel for the weekend until I could get into the unit on Monday, but I checked my email and Ella had preemptively sent me instructions on getting access to the unit. Ella understood our circumstance and met our most desperate and heartbroken moment with generosity. We literally sobbed we couldn't believe it. For the cost, the value of the unit and what's included would alone be worth 5 stars, especially in Boulder and so close to campus. Ella embodies going above and beyond as a professional (you've never had an email responded to faster), but more importantly she and the rest of HHelpers recognize that they're working with real people - some in their most vulnerable moments - and I don't remember the last time I experienced that. Housing Helpers will be the first on the list of my housing recommendations going forward. I really can't stress enough just how down and out we were when this all happened but Ella immediately shifted our perspective and we felt like things were going to be okay after all - and they have been. When we did get positive feedback, we would be the one to reach out to them asking what the status, what the potential buyer wanted, what can we do, etc. We are very unsatisfied with this agency because of the lack of communication on their part and lack of interest to sell our home. I give them two stars because their photographer took amazing pictures of our house but I assume any other agency can do that. If you're not in a hurry to sell your home and want amazing pictures posted online then this is the agency for you. Worst company ever. I've been in my home for 7 years and they just bought out my landlord. They…read morewant over $5k for me to be able to stay in my home and are giving me 2 weeks to come up with it to sign the lease. They was additional deposits when I've already made them, they have raised my rent, they want me to take out a $15K bond, pet insurance, take their renters insurance an maintenance package, the list goes on. They start out being nice and then tell you one amount, then once you agree, they add on another cost, then another I'm now up to over $5k just to get a lease drawn up for 6 months in which they state they have the right to raise the rent again. Now a pet fee on top of the rent, which was never discussed from the beginning. So the dog is going away until I am able to find a new place and I have to do month to month on a 20% increase with no lease and they've told me they can increase that amount or evict me at any time. Bad part is, they own 99% of all of the homes in this area. I can't believe anyone would sell their business and their clients to this nasty agency. I have never met a more unorganized, unethical, poorly ran business in my life. The lady in the office in our town that I always texted with about things like rent, maintenance etc, has blocked my number. So there's that. NEVER EVER RENT FROM THEM.

As a resident of 2 years at my Four Star rental property, I have experienced mediocre service throughout my time but nothing TOO atrocious (so for that I award 2 stars)...but nothing has been as bad as the experience my roommates and I have endured this last week and a half. ***Here is a list of major complaints that I urge you all to check out before even considering renting a home with Four Star (beginning July 7th, 2020 through the current date): - No notification of workers being on our property for extended periods of time (unidentified individuals with unmarked vehicles). As a house full of women, this is an extreme safety concern - Resident's car was asked to be moved, then blocked in and covered with sawdust from the trees that were removed. This was destruction of personal property - Portion of the fence that is facing the street was down for an entire weekend, exposing all of the residents' personal items in the backyard while residents were out of town, and now the entire fence is down leaving the entire yard exposed. - Emergency line was called multiple times regarding these issues with no solution - All of the sheds were destroyed on 7/14, but residents were not notified and still had personal items in the sheds (Pots, tools, benches, a small grill, and pool toys). - Personal items (tables are covered with tools, tarp is under a pile of wood, and tables/chairs have been used and dirtied) have been used by the workers without the residents' consent - Zero communication from Four Star via text, call, or email to prepare residents that workers will be on the property. This is a major safety concern. - Multiple emails with zero follow up - Multiple calls/messages with zero follow up - Residents were able to contact a Four Star rep on 7/13 regarding the emergency complaint (fence + AC), but no follow up has been given from Four Star in over 48 hours. - Resident was able to contact a Four Star Leasing Agent (Cody, he was lovely) on 7/13 regarding the fence, and he said it would be fixed on Monday or Tuesday. No follow up has been given since. As reliable, respectful, and responsible tenants, we expected and deserved better than this treatment! Cheers.
