I went to Dr. Housel after being diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma prior to moving to New York State. I was told by everyone I asked once I moved here that he's the BEST, both medically and cosmetically. The results of my procedure are perfect- the cancer is gone and there is practically no scar; the surgical area is on my face, so that's very important to me. Dr. Housel is very nice and always so professional. I'm very grateful for his expertise. I've also been treated by his PA, Jennifer for other issues and she's also wonderful: professionally very smart and so knowledgeable, yet very easy to talk to. I highly recommend this office, regardless of your level of need. The office itself is brand new and beautifully appointed. Dr. Housel and staff are exceptional, with such a large patient base it is understandable that they may run a little behind, but what Dr. office doesn't . Thankfully Dr. Housel is local, because if not my mother would have had to travel hours every time she has needed Mohs surgery. They are also very respectful of their patients and contact them after procedures to check up on them. Since I work in a medical field, I understand that some people may become disgruntled about waiting, but you need to understand they are taking their time with each patient and listening to their concerns. So instead of misjudging the practice for timeliness, understand that it is a specialized field and you may be required to wait. I have been a patient at this office since they have opened. I had a great experience there from start to finish. I thought it was refreshing to come into an office and be greeted with a smile! I was thrilled that Dr Housel finally diagnosed me after several years of a struggle with my skin condition. He spent time with me, did a complete skin check from head to toe and also took a few biopsies. I feel he was very personable and informative. Dr. Housel is amazing. His knowledge of skin conditions is very vast. I had incurable skin rash lesions, myself, until I went to Doctor Housel. He knew what antibiotic to prescribe for my condition. I started seeing Dr. Housel when my dermatologist retired. He and his team are extremely professional which eased my concerns over seeing a new doctor, as I have basal cell cancers quite often. I have had several procedures done by Dr. Housel, including the Mohs surgery. They were virtually painless and his entire staff, including Gabby, the R.N., were professional, delightful and caring. I have seen Dr. Housel and his PAs over the last five years. He is outstanding. He identified basal-cell carcinoma during regular skin checks and has done three removals for me on my face. I had an excellent experience for my first visit. I was seen promptly, ended up needing a mole removed, and was treated with compassion and obvious expertise. Jenn (and I believe her assistant's name was Kelly) made me feel completely at ease while they completed the surgery on my face. Jenn called me personally when my biopsy results came back. Worth the wait! Although it took awhile to get an appointment, I can understand why. From start to finish it was a pleasant experience. Making the appointment, front desk, nurses and Dr. Housel were all wonderful. First time going to a dermatologist I was nervous, but everyone put me so at ease. I went in to have surgery on my eyelid. It had a basil and needed to be removed. The staff was friendly fast and efficient. The doctor even took the time to call me on his personal time later on evening to make sure I was feeling OK from surgery.
