I'm a curious person, so I asked LOTS of questions throughout the inspection and Andy was very generous and patient in explaining his inspection to me. He is knowledgeable about Pittsburgh-area homes and what to look for based on the time period in which a home was built. Our home was built in the early 1900's and he talked us through how our basement and home structure was a product of that era and what we could do to best maintain it. His inspection was thorough and we received a well-organized, detailed report on the home within about two days. Wish I could give zero stars. As if the home buying process isn't stressful enough already…read more.. Despite being very turned off by Gary's unprofessionalism from the start of the scheduling process (telling my realtor one thing and me another; texting sometimes and emailing other times), we went ahead and hired him to complete our sewage inspection, as he was recommended by the home inspection company. After waiting for 20+ minutes, we called to see where he was. He told my realtor that he had texted us an hour prior, which was untrue. He did send an email 15 minutes prior to our appointment, at which time we were all already en route to the property. He stated that the driveway to the property was impassable due to ice. If he had called (rather than sending an email), we could have driven him to the top of the slushy -- not icy -- driveway to complete the inspection, as all three of us (realtor, husband and I) made it to the property just fine. When he did finally phone me 30 minutes past our appointment time, he was very disrespectful, interrupting me and hanging up on me twice as I respectfully expressed my frustration. My husband and I had both taken time off of work to be there, and now we are in a predicament to find another inspector in short notice. At the very least, I would recommend he improve his customer service practices, especially the disrespectful way in which he speaks to his customers. A phone call (not a cop out email) could have remedied the situation, and we may have been able to do business today. But now, I am without inspection and a day's pay, and Gary is without my business.
