If you're a local or just visiting Houston, Miller Outdoor Theatre is definitely a must visit! Took…read moremy kids here last Friday AND Saturday to take advantage of seeing some free shows (FYI all shows are free) Friday was a light crowd, plenty of space on the lawn. You can reserve your tickets 10am on Fridays on their website however tickets go FAST! I prefer the lawn it's space for my kids to run around and we can spread out on a blanket and bring food, drinks and snacks. SMOKING IS PROHIBITED! Which one guy on Saturday decided to break this rule. Lawn chair are permitted to use. I prefer Friday night events as opposed to Saturday nights because Saturdays are CROWDED. Also parking can be a nightmare. However it's great family fun. There are restrooms available they also sell snacks and beverages (I bought a bottle of soda for $4!! Definitely bring your own food and drinks)

After eight or nine months of Miller being closed for renovations, my friend, and I went to see…read morewhat they had done yesterday and have to say, I was disappointed. I can only assume that most of the renovations were behind the scenes in the theater itself because the outside left me wanting! Firstly, there were some nice improvements like trees. They did try to put in some plants, but I have to say that was the biggest disappointment. It looked like someone had just thrown some random plants around those trees in. It seemed like a very amateurish job. The second big disappointment was they have this huge Miller sculpture sign on the top of the hill where people sit to watch shows. People completely cover that hill during major events and that big monstrosity is only going to keep people from being able to see the show, not to mention that I'm sure some kids are going to try to climb that thing so it won't just be an obstruction, it will be a potential safety hazard. If they had to put it up at all,, they should've put it at the base of the hill on the back side. It will still be visible from Herman Park Drive. Other than those things I can't really see that much improvement. I love going to Miller! My one big suggestion is to take that sign off the hill before someone gets hurt. And there's probably going be a ton of complaints because of the obstruction of the view.

Had the pleasure of seeing Moon Taxi and Sparkle City Disco here on 9/4/2021. First live music…read moreshow since the pandemic started and it was much needed and rewarding! Very impressed by Sparkle City Disco as the opening act as they played classic disco infused by their own styles. Moon Taxi was amazing as well. They get the crowd into their shows and the energy was off the charts. As for the venue, the shows are on the second floor so be prepared to climb some steps. It has a bar and merchandise table next to the stage and there's plenty of standing room to watch the performance. Standing only from what I saw so wear your most comfortable shoes. Location is in EaDo next to a few bars and eats so it makes for an adventurous night in town. Look forward to more shows here; now they need to book some solid upcoming artists!

This music venue has been here for years and I've seen a few concerts at this location. I saw…read moreBelami in the small room a few years ago. That was a very intimate setting and I enjoyed it. I've also been to a couple concerts in the big room like Miguel and most recently Masego. The bigger room is one huge space. It has two bars, one on either side of the stage. You also can go into the smaller room to get drinks in that bar as well. It has a lot less foot traffic and the bathroom in that side is typically cleaner than the main room. Drinks prices are average to what most lounges charge. $8 for a 16 oz beer can and around $15-17 for a drink. Depends on what you get. More if it's a double. You have to get there really early to have time to park and get close enough for a good view. Parking can be crazy and expensive especially if there is an Astros game or a dynamo games going on that day. Sunday there was a soccer game and it took us about 40 min to park. We looked for street parking first, which there was none. And all the lots were up charging because of the games. The one closest to this venue was charging $30! So we found one like 4 blocks away for $15. Wear some real comfortable shoes with good cushion and arch support because you will be standing the whole time. It honestly sucks being short or average height trying to fight for a view. You have to get there right when doors open in order to get close enough to have a fighting chance at having a good view. But who wants to stand for an hour before a concert starts? Doors opened at 7. By the time we got ready, found parking, waited in like and got inside it was about 8:30 and the first act had already started. I've tried to do the window thing where you stand in the middle behind too people. I was able to see for a little while but people of course jam, dance and move. So I couldn't see the whole time. I've had instances where people push past you to get closer and it makes the space tight. At least the sound is good. So even though I couldn't see the whole time, I heard the music clearly. Masego was awesome! I love his music. And I love when artists sound the same as they do when they record music. He is super talented.

How much do we have to spend to get the A/C turned on?!…read more I went this past Sunday to see the Devil Wears Prada 2 (for the second time; first time I saw it at iPic). Tickets are cheap: $30 each. Wine was a rip-off at $20 a glass for table wine (cocktails at iPic are $10). We ordered two glasses without realizing it'd be $40. The bartender had already pour our glasses before we could change our mind (and wish she would have alerted us that for $10 more we could have purchased the entire bottle... So almost $100 later, we are in theater 7 where it was stuffy and hot as hell; people were sweating. I had my jeans rolled up to my knees and eventually went to the concession stand for cups of ice water and they gave me cardboard boxes to serve as a fan. That's just ridic. Def can't blame the staff because they're mostly teens. But management, corporate, and even Nicole Kidman--take notice and fix this stat. For now, we're just gonna go to iPic because you spend about the same amount and for a much more enjoyable movie experience.
