Went to a Rockets game and I'll give them credit -- the atmosphere is fun. Lots of stuff to do, tons of entertainment, big energy. Cool. No problem there. But now we gotta talk about the men's bathrooms, because whoever designed those things clearly hates humanity. I don't know if the architect lost a bet, got dumped that morning, or just woke up and said "how uncomfortable can I make this for everyone?" but congratulations -- mission accomplished. You're packed in there elbow-to-elbow like it's a hostage situation, trying to handle your business while some stranger is basically part of the same zip code. Personal space? Never heard of it. It's like the designer said, "What if we removed dignity from the equation entirely?" I've been to stadiums all over and I've seen some questionable bathroom setups... but this one? Hall of Fame bad. This feels less like a restroom and more like a social experiment on how quickly people can lose their will to live. And the wild part is someone looked at those blueprints and said, "Yep... perfect. Build it." No one stopped it. No one raised a hand and said, "Hey maybe men don't want to stand shoulder-to-shoulder like we're forming a defensive line." Great arena energy, but the bathroom architect needs to apologize to society immediately. read more

Hard to believe that for as many concerts/sporting events that I've been fortunate to attend, I haven't done Toyota Center. Until recently. Girlfriend won some Rockets vs Kings tickets on a Wednesday in late February and invited me to accompany her. We managed to make it to our seats in section 423 right at tip-off. Getting up there took a minute as you have to take the escalator up cause the elevator operates at a snail's pace. Fortunately you get a solid view of the court area and the fan interaction is quite passionate about their Rockets in H-Town. Since it was a Wednesday, it was not a packed house with lots of empty seats. I was a bit bummed as I love basketball games and the Rockets have a lot of NBA talent but I guess not everyone is aboard the NBA train. Oh well, their loss. Getting to/from the arena is a pain due to traffic and roads being closed for the events. So if you're doing Lyft, you are better off getting dropped off/picked up from a few blocks away from the arena due to the all the congestion. Fortunately for the location, the arena is right smack dab in the middle of downtown near the convention center so there are plenty of eating/drinking options if you want to pre-game or celebrate/commensurate after the game. I'm sure I'll be back for more NBA games and maybe a concert or two here. read more

I was in town for work and just so happened that the Rockets were also in town. It was easy to get into the stadium as I went with a season ticket holder. There is a separate entrance which allows you to get into the building quite rapidly. We made our way up the escalator to the upper deck to get into our seats. No lines for concessions. The venue is in really good shape and is well cared for. And they won! Great time. read more

First off let me say that every employee that I interacted with were the most friendly I have ever encountered at any stadium or venue. What's the issue? Well, as everyone knows the prices at stadiums for food and beverages require one to secure a 2nd mortgage before arriving. With the high prices you would think that they would pay a living wage to all those working concessions. I decided for a bbq stuffed baked potato. At first I thought it odd that while the gentleman was cutting the brisket he thanked us for tipping him before we even paid. Even though the tipping culture has gotten way out of hand, I left a tip on the credit card. After walking away, I returned and asked if they had any salt or pepper. The gentleman cutting the brisket said that they did not and inquired whether I tipped him. I said that I had left a tip on the credit card as every location has a notice that they do not take cash. He then pointed to an unmarked cup on the counter and said that his tip is not part of the tip we paid on the credit card. So in conclusion, employees are not being paid a living wage even though the markup is beyond outrageous, and they expect you to tip on counter service not once, but twice. Really?!? read more

Going to the Toyota center is always fun because we get to be immersed into the game and the mini shows in between half time, time out, etc are always fun to watch. The staff are always friendly, super informative, and fun to speak to. I gave it a 3 star because of the prices at the concessions. Everything is almost triple the cost which is unfortunate. While I understand it is a business, it really doesn't need to be about $15 per drink I will still come again but probably won't be purchasing anything the next time I visit. read more

Love seeing Houston Rockets games and concerts here but it's a very tight seating situation. Don't mind if you're with a group but if you're sitting next to others it can get pretty awkward sometimes. Been here for multiple games, multiple concerts and probably the easiest entry. Just don't bring a purse! Also wish they had the food options and drink options that Daikin Park has for Astros games. It's pretty basic on food/drinks here. Parking sucks too so get there early or buy garage parking ahead of time. read more

Came here for the Boy is Mine concert. The staff was very accommodating, we decided since we were traveling with a large group (13 ppl) that we would do a suite. That process was seamless and the gentleman walked me through everything and was available if I had questions. As it got closer to the event someone reached out to get us setup with food and drinks. As a forever Warriors fan and Bay Area native walking into Game 2 of the Warriors vs. Rockets playoff series at the Toyota Center felt like stepping into enemy territory. The sea of red, the chants, the energy, it was hella loud, intense, and hostile, just the way a playoff atmosphere should be. Even though the Dubs didn't come out on top, the experience itself was top-tier being my first playoff experience in H-Town. Believe it or not, despite all the trash talk flying around (That I engaged in myself) the Rockets fan sitting next to me was actually really cool. We joked back and forth the whole game, and he even gave me a little side-eye respect for staying loyal in enemy territory. To top it off, pre game I went to the concession stand and got a free super-sized pretzel from one of the vendors--no idea why, but I wasn't asking questions. Soft, salty, and a win in its own right! Yeah, the loss hurt, but being in the middle of that intense energy, repping my team with pride, and having a surprisingly solid time in a hostile crowd? Got an invite to this event on Saturday and what a time we had. Did so many things saw so many faces, we cheered, laughed and enjoyed the show like no other. This is your typical sports arena - no outside food, purses have to be a certain size (which is VERY small, check the website!), somewhat decent bathrooms and junk food galore! One weird thing, however, is that they don't allow beverage caps in the seats. That makes sense for screw-cap bottled beers because it prevents people from trying to take them home, BUT the same rules apply for nonalcoholic beverages too! Such as water bottles, Gatorade bottles, etc. This is a terrible rule because the cup holders at the seats are hardly 2-inches tall, so beverages sit crooked in them and easily topple over. The guy in front of us spilled his ENTIRE beverage because he didn't realize he knocked it out of the cup holder and wasn't paying attention to us yelling at him. So just be mindful of your beverages when at your seat! Otherwise, enjoy the game/concert/performance you came here to see! read more

Though I know the Toyota Center most for being a sports venue, last night, I had the opportunity to attend the Toyota Center and experience it as a Concert Venue. As the Hot Boys have reunited, the Houston stop was the one I chose to attend. The Toyota Center is hugeeeeee and takes up the entire center of the Downtown area (in my opinion. lol). The center is easy to find and has ample parking around it. As I was with Turk, I was able to experience the Toyota Center from the front and back end. Arriving at the Toyota Center for soundcheck was very efficient. We pulled up to the gate, provided our credentials and were escorted to the parking area. Once parked, the security area is right near the dock. Everyone had to go through security and I do mean everyone... I was so happy to see this. Once through security, we were escorted to the dressing room. The room was spacious, the bathroom was huge and everything was clean. The furniture was simple but perfect for the space. The main hallway area was vibrant and super bright which was perfect as there was sooooooo much going on. Furthermore, the wide hallway was ideal for the way the artist and entourage were walking back and forth. Executing the sound check was easy and I was able to see the venue with no one in it. I loved the space and the way the seating was structured and the standing only areas were added. After sound check, we departed to get ready for the night. Arriving back to the Toyota Center for showtime, the access process was the same. Efficient, safe, and systematic. As it was now show time, the venue was loaded and the sound was jumping. The sound system was super clear and consistent throughout the entire arena. The backstage area was set up to ensure the flow of traffic was smooth and things could get done. The staff of the Toyota Center was very pleasant and helpful. Though tensions were high and the show was sold out, the staff maintained their composure and ensured all ran smoothly. I am in love with the Toyota Center and so glad I was able to experience it from the concert aspect. read more

Went to see Twenty One Pilots at the Toyota Center for the Clancy tour and it was a good time! Now the line was longggggg and it was pretty confusing figuring out which of the multiple lines to stand it. Once inside, it was pretty simple to get to our seats, and the staff were very helpful. The actual performance had good visuals and acoustics. Now if someone in front of you stands up, you won't be able to see anything at all. Leaving was also all right, though some routes were blocked due to crowds. Overall, good concert spot! And Twenty One Pilots rocked! read more

Attended a concert here which was fun! But i do wished I payed closer attention to the bag policy. Because my bag and those in the same line were out of standards. Luckily my hotel was a 2 minute walk from the venue. (They do offer a locker storage) But what baffles me is there were others with the same bag as me and many with drawstring bags that were able to enter. Not the best experience with that situation. Next i went to the wrong area for my seating. Thinking I could just walk across the seats to get to the other side. (Row 114-115) The workers were rude and told me I couldn't do that. read more

It was our first time there watching a Houston Rockets game. Although the venue was busy, the entry process had a good flow. There were plenty of food options throughout the arena, though the prices were on the higher side. I loved that they had a variety of options that ranged from pizza and nachos to pulled pork mac & cheese and a chimichurri steak sandwich. We saw Usher Thanksgiving weekend. The arena/center itself was fine, but the service of this one older African American lady at the entrance was disgusting. I wish I had her name. Basically, it was freezing, I had no idea Houston, TX got cold. We are talking 30s with no jacket. They had the doors locked after security check and she had us along with others standing in the cold waiting to have the ticket scanned. My friend was parking the car, he of course had the tickets and didn't send them to me, and she basically said I had to wait for him....outside! I was pissed. There was an Asian ticket woman that was much nicer, but the employee really ruined the experience. Usher did a great job though. read more

This is really one of the better stadiums I've been to. The way the bowl sits low here means it has several advantages. It's lightning fast to get through security and ticketing and if you plan it right you're right by your section. Concessions are good, drinks are strong and they have clean bathrooms. That and the fun Houston murals, photo opps around the stadium make for a great experience. They've also got a good selection of unique merch. read more

Home of the Houston Rockets, the Toyota Center is an indoor arena that can seat up to 18,000-19,000 patrons. I've been here multiple times for concerts and Rockets games, but my preference has always been a good ole home game. While they have a private lot in front, they also have parking garages and plenty of street parking, which I love about Houston. Since this is downtown, be aware of your surroundings, there are homeless living in the area and crowds get rowdy, especially after a win. read more

Went for the Deftones concert. Seats were excellent although we paid a premium for them. I loved that we had a club like area for drinks and the bathrooms were really clean. The show was awesome! Great sound and engaging crowd. My only complaint is that my purse was just a wee bit too big so I had to pay 10 bucks to store it in a locker, I had to download an app to use the locker- what a pain. Other than that it was a great experience. read more

I had not been to a Rockets game in years. Came here on NYE 12/31/2022. Uber'd there so didn't have to figure out parking. Easy check in process with e ticket. The bar and food places within the venue remain sky high, pack your money bag if you plan to eat here. $14 + for 1 draft beer? Come on now? And now they have this new policy where you aren't allowed to keep the cap of ANY drinks. I mean twist off alcohol cap I understand due to not wanting alcohol outside the venu, but water bottles and soda with no cap on it? Explain the logic. Despite that, good time, tons of options on food & drink, lots of staff and workers to assist or help. Rockets lost that night, too bad, but good game. read more

Went to see the Rockets played against the Kings and had a great time. It was a weeknight which means the place wasn't packed so checking in and leaving out was a breeze. We parked about a block away from the stadium and walked. It was perfect because we avoided the traffic plus parking was cheaper. The concession stands are typically junk food/snacks/soda/alcohol like any other stadium but the line moved quick. Because it's a weeknight and Texas kids school is still in session, I saw lots of kids in school colored t shirts on field trips. The memorabilia stand pretty cool even though I'm not a fan of the Rockets but a fan of NBA and it's nostalgic to see legends. read more
