Having said that, you get what you pay for. For $430 a month (rent and utilities), I never complained. Now, what really set them apart was their customer service. I typically hear horror stories from other people about their landlords. Fortunately, in my year of living with Cherry Hill, I never had such a problem. The only time I needed to call maintenance, for a leaking toilet, they had a guy out the next day. Literally, the next day. I wish I could remember his name, because he was super friendly and fixed the problem right away. I believe the landlord's name was Tim, and he was a good guy, very professional. He even had my security deposit returned to me within two weeks of moving back home. The location is awesome. Some native Lincolnites may call it "a bad neighborhood," but (no offense to native Lincolnites), if you're from any kind of a developed city, it's absolutely nothing to worry about. I would go for walks around there at night and never felt afraid. If you go to UNL, there's the 24 bus (IIRC) that stops right in front of the complex on Vine St. There's plenty of great restaurants within a short walk, plus a Walgreens and a 24-hour McDonalds. So yeah, in conclusion, the housing stock ain't that great, but for the price, and the location, you're getting a solid deal. Management and maintenance are above-par. Definitely a place worth checking out.

I lived at Highpointe for 2 years and the first year was great the manage Liz was helpful and my needs were met quickly and efficiently. Then she moved and her assistant took over and I thought that she would be a good replacement because she was nice. She began to hound me and target me for everything that she could possibly do. I never had a noise complaint and never missed a payment always paid in full on the first. Maintenance began to leave messes in my unit and not clean up I had to have them come back multiple times for the same issues over and over again. There was a bleach stain on the carpet when I moved in and I was assured it was going to be taken care of as part of moving in. It is still there. The garbage disposal is broken I have put in a request 4-5 time for that issue and it doesn't get fixed it is currently backed up and I do not live there so yea I left it. The hot water rarely works because the water heater gets too hot and releases it all out. If it does it's almost boiling. LITERALLY! See pics below. He keeps saying it gets fixed, IT NEVER LASTS. These problems lasted for 6-8 months. HELL. She finally out a notice on my door saying that after two years I was unable to sign another lease. The only thing holding me back was I didn't want to move my things. They are trying to charge the next tenant $950/mo for a 580 sq. ft apartment. All because they changed the shitty cabinets and flooring! I also loved the location you can walk home from the bar! I am now paying $1000/mo for a 1bdrm 790 sq.ft. I won on that regard. They do have food trucks that come for free in the summer which I have never had any other complex do that for me which is pretty sweet. The ***** Candace isn't paying for that tho so she doesn't get the credit. Parking, you had better be home before 5 or you will be walking. In the winter it's horrible. This building is older than hell don't be fooled by the nice white cabinetry and the housing office. And if you see Candace give her the bird for me here is some pictures of what you get to deal with much love hopefully you got this far you will be having all the bugs, id spray all the time if I were you. In regards to south lincoln, you really can't find a more all-around reasonable apartment complex. The apartment buildings themselves are older but the management, in my opinion, maintains them well & noticeably re-invests into the apartments & the clubhouse, often. I have a renovated one-bedroom apartment (it has its minor flaws but I have made no complaints as it is all around really nice for what I pay - see picture attached) modern & clean, the floor plan is really nice, stainless steal appliances, larger sized rooms, nice storage space. As far as utilities & amenities - I'm home quite a bit & I only pay about $80 a month on average, between gas & electric - admin covers water & trash, we have a decent gym, a nice pool, children's park, they are dog-friendly here, have a responsive maintenance team, a cleaning team that cleans the hallways regularly, & all the neighbors are kind & respectful of one another... I have had no complaints thus far. The employees at the clubhouse are really helpful & take really great care of us. I have no regrets having signed a year lease to live here & depending on what the future holds for myself & my family, I would not hesitate to continue living here. I am writing to inform family and friends of what occurred with the My Silver Attic Estate…read moreLiquidator in Lincoln Nebraska.  My parents are in their eighties and my mother signed the contract with this company to have an estate sale and full house clean out because they were moving to an independent living apartment and selling their home. They had a 4-bedroom home plus items from when they were snowbirds in Arizona.  Their possessions were not junk, but nice furniture, decorations, kitchen items, and some tools. The estate sale was held in April and we are told it brought in around $8,300.  The check my mother received from the sale of all their lifelong possessions was $36.90. When I called Brian on June 23, he explained that they took 45% off the top, then 96 hours at $30/hour for the work they did and two dumpster charges. This just doesn't seem right!  I have asked for a copy of the contract and invoice showing the charges and told they would send it to me via email.  However, I have contacted them twice by phone and once via their website, but still have not received what I asked.  My elderly parents have nothing to show for all these possessions that are now gone!  It doesn't seem right!  This company also keeps some of the furniture and can resell it at other sales and keep the money for themselves! Had my mother understood this when booking this company, she would not have signed to have a full house clean out, but moving is stressful at their age and she trusted these people.  Isn't 45% off the top of the sale enough?  Who knew they took all these extra fees too! Beware!
