This is a wonderful nursery with a huge array of plants, hardscape materials, and everything in between. The 'shop' has a wide range of fresh fruit, vegetables, refrigerated items, candy, gifts.....it just goes on and on. The staff is friendly, very knowledgeable and eager to help. read more

Excellent place to stop for produce! I wish we had something like this close to where I live. A wide range of apples from Maryland are just one of the things that brings me to the state in the autumn. So many great things thoughtfully organized in a homey space. I have been going here for years, driving over 2 hours from Annapolis to get Soft Shell Crabs. Lately and last year after purchasing crabs from them, when I go to thaw them out they're supposed to be Whales which is the largest they have, however these are more like mediums. I also noticed both times that a lot of the crabs are missing their biters and sometimes 3 or more legs. I don't appreciate having to pay too price and end of being over charged for smaller crabs. read more

This by far is the best nursery around on the eastern shore with over 10 acres on route 13. Brent and his gang are awesome he has been a great resource for actually saving me money. I buy my Leyland cypress and green giants all from "How Sweet It Is". But this nursery is so much more to me I buy all my natural grass fed meats, craft beer, local wine, and local crab meat as well. I come to the Eastern Shore often to visit family and vacation at the beach. I stop here almost every time I'm in town. The flavor of the cantaloupe seems to be so much better here than where I live. This visit we ended up also getting strawberries and blueberries. My husband raved about how much flavor they had. Kids loved them too. Great place to stop and check out! read more

How Sweet It Is -- much more than just a produce market. It's also a nursery for plants large and small, as well as a place to purchase mulch, decorative stones, etc. I am a huge fan of the produce market. Everything is very fresh and they have many local and organic choices also. If you want an idea of how good their produce is compared to others, look at bok choy at Giant and then compare to How Sweet It Is. That about sums it up. How Sweet It Is, is probably the best place to buy crab in the Salisbury area. During the season, they have backfin, lump, jumbo lump, and claw available. The crab meat is very high quality with very little shell/cartilage and "orange nuggets" to pick out. We just went prior to Thanksgiving, and they had pasteurized canned crab (the season is over...). We were skeptical, but we bought a can for crab dip anyway. The meat is from Cambridge and is from the same factory that they get their fresh crab. I am happy to say that this canned crab was surprisingly good -- almost as good as fresh! They also sell soft crabs. read more

The best food and plants on the Eastern Shore. Period. My wife is hooked on the freshly made ground almond butter and my kids wolf down the fresh fruits and veggies. How Sweet It Is' products really are fresher and tastier than we can find elsewhere. The wine selection and craft beers is good too. The nursery is filled with gorgeous plants in really good condition. It's taken a while, but my backyard has been filled with "edible landscaping" and we're now getting fruits from all sorts of different bushes, vines and trees. There's no other local place that comes close to the selection and quality if you're looking to spruce up your property. Two thumbs up! read more

I went for a couple ever greens and a few plants for a new landscaping project at my house. I was impressed with the service and have been very pleased with everything I got from them. I also grabbed a container of cut watermelon for the road and it was gone before I got home :) Made landscaping fun. read more

The only complaint I have is that I wanted one of everything! They had a massive local wine selection, local homemade ice cream, jarred EVERYTHING, homemade fudge, beautiful but inexpensive wreaths, and some beautiful mea and produce! We picked up some peaches, local scrapple, and the buffalo eggs. Buffalo eggs? Yes, pickled eggs in what I'm guessing is a buffalo style flavoring. I'm super excited to try everything. It all looked so good. Oh, they also have trees, plants, and a decent craft beer selection. Love it! read more

I've been here a few times and I'm sure the season and my timing are factors, but sometimes the produce is really good and sometimes not. I bought nuts (repacked into their containers) and they were not of the best quality, especially the mixed nuts which were going rancid. I thought most of their stuff was rather pricey. If I'm going to pay that much for produce, I'll stick to the farmers markets around town. I may go back and update my review if it improves IMHO. read more

Brought some crab meat about 2 weeks ago and it was loaded with shells will never purchase crab meat again from here. I was better off going to skip jacks and pick meat out of crabs myself . My wife made crab dip and had to trash it because of the shells. If I can remember the meat came from a Cambridge Maryland company. read more

The strawberries are the best around! Lots of flavor! Lots of selection of fruits, vegetables and even nut butters!

I don't think the mulch they delivered is the 5 yards they claim to have delivered. Called to talk to a manager yesterday...twice. I was assured someone would call me back. Still no call. I'm disappointed...I had heard such great things about them. The mulch they did deliver is great quality.... totally happy with the product. read more
