Howard County Circuit Court - Jury Assembly Kitchen (June 2023)

June 2023…read more Disclaimer: Review based solely on jury service experience I was summoned back in April for jury service, but was sick so was excused and resummoned for June. If you are summoned for jury duty, note that the parking garage is a zoo so plan to arrive early. Fortunately they don't start promptly so it's ok if you are several minutes late. Upon arriving at the courthouse, you will need to go through security. The jury assembly room is upstairs to the left. Upon entering the room, you sign in at the desk on the right, then you can be seated anywhere. There is plenty of seats including counter seats with outlets if you need to work on a laptop or charge your electronic devices. The jury assembly room has a kitchen with vending machines, a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and two dining tables (each seats 4). There is also a water dispenser (accessible for bottles), coat room, and restroom. The judge came out and spoke to us and thanked us for our time and service. Later, a circuit clerk called our names and gave us a badge with a number on it. This would be used as our personal identification instead of being referred to by our names if we were selected to be a juror. We were then instructed to go in line to get our parking validated and to receive our $30 expense money. We were informed mid-morning that we were dismissed from service and given documentation to provide to our employers as evidence of our service. It was the funniest thing to see how quickly everyone bolted out of the courthouse. It had the same feeling to me as Black Friday. Lol. Getting out of the parking garage was comparable to leaving a venue after a concert or an event. It was jam-packed and slow getting out. Note, the gate was open so it wasn't necessary to check out at the kiosk. I liked my jury experience in Howard County much better than when I served in Montgomery County mainly because parking was more adequate and I am slightly more knowledgeable of the process this time around.

Looking forward to my case completely being resolved in a few years. Hopefully, I can improve my review to 5 stars by then if what I was told actually happens.

Josh and Beth misrepresented that they were legal representatives, gave a false sense of urgency that the opposing counsel was proceeding with a sense of urgency, lied about having a retainer agreement with my son (that to date has NEVER been provided to me, took my oayment via internet under false, fraudulent, intentionally misrepresented and misleading pretense, and after I made payment and realized they were not the lawyers we intended and they misrepresented themselves, I demanded a full refund not even an hour later. This law firm began to dodge my calls, in my numerous request for immediate refund. Finally, I was sent to a highly elusive "senior" lawyer, who refised toidentify his name, the law firm, the owner, the head lawyer (in charge), and he kept asking me auesions, but told me I didn't need any of yhe identifying information about who he was and the law firm is... though these people just stole $1,500 from me. I finally spoke with James E. Crawford Jr, who denounced his employees actions, promised me a refund, and told me he too would send an email confirming his promise to refund my full payment (the same way Beth Taby told me she'd sent an email of mynson's retainer agreement-NEVER HAPPENED TO DATE), but James E. Crawford lied-never sending me the email and NEVER REFINDING MY MONEY! James E. Crawford Jr'd action are learned behavior after investigating his family's past. His practices are predatory, against people already struggling, and his practice to steal other lawyers clients by way of hi jacking them by fraudulently misrepresenting themselves over the phone, as another law firm, stealing the lawyers intended payment, then refusing to refund the money though they have no retainer agreement and I am not the client... it's despicable. Then, James E. Crawford's law firm used combative delay tactics, asking me to wait until the end of the day (but I reiterated my demand for an immediate refund to my account). Without even having a retainer agreement, and in a despearte attempt to keep my money (though I am not a client, I never siught representation from his firm, I immediately demand my refund not even an hour after making the payment, his senior lawyer refused to identify himself because they knew they fraudulently misrepresented themselves and were caught in a lie, now... this unethical law firm rushed to file actions in my son;s case despite my demand for full refund prior to this DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO JUSTIFY STEALING MY MONEY BY WAY OF FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION, though James E. Crawford Jr. promised me a refund. I have all this recorded! He is just like his father, a rotten apple from the same toxic tree. As per multiple source providing reports about this law firm, and his family, they are all rotten apples from a disgracefully rotten tree. This law firm practices predatory fraudulent tactics, BE WARE!! These have been my direct experiences with James E. Crawford Jr, a legacy of disgrace.
