Dr. Hamarnah and her staff helped me feel comfortable from the start. From initial intake to my first meeting, Dr. Hamarnah helped develop a plan to fix some long required issues. She had me deal with a top Periodontist to have some teeth extracted. That went very well and then she somehow worked with a lab (magic?) and had me fit with temporary teeth the next day. The cost was very fair and I felt well taken care of. The follow up from Dr. Hamarnah and her staff was excellent. I signed the agreement for care credit but the very next morning I called the office and spoke to office manager, Jackie, and told her to cancel the crown as I did not want it to cover a tooth that was very sensitive. She said she would but on the next appointment again I told him to extract the tooth and he kept saying I should wait until the tooth settles down. This went on for close to 3 months. the day before my next appointment she called to say they moved to a different office.. When I got there he said I needed a root canal but I insisted on him pulling the tooth. After he pulled it he said the reason for the pain was that I had an abscess and the root canal would not have helped I then asked for a credit to my account for the difference of a crown vs. an extraction. He tells me that he put in the crown and I would not get a credit I think I would know if a crown was put in my mouth. He is nothing but a crook I paid him $1100.00 for a tooth extraction. The doctor looked at my teeth for less than 30 seconds and decided I needed to have a special treatment that stops bleeding. I had brought in my schedule of benefits and that really made them mad because they thought they could get one over on me. I am here to tell you that whatever you do or where you go you should be informed. I let them know my cleaning was $5 and my office visit was $5 so they decided to tack on a $65 per tooth to stop bleeding which is absolutely ridiculous because they had never met me or knew anything about my dental history. I looked at my schedule of benefits and this treatment showed $65 per tooth however they lied to me and said, "Oh no, that is a one time charge." but I know that they are liars and would have come back later to charge me the remainder from all the reviews I have seen. They are scammers and liars. Do not go to this dentist unless your mouth is on fire and still even if you can avoid this place do not go. As a result, I had avoided going to the dentist out of fear and worry for over 7 years. I was afraid of being yelled at and afraid that my sensitivity needs would not be accomodated. I knew I was overdue for a visit, and stumbled upon Tomalty Dental Care and I couldn't be happier. From beginning to end, everyone has been a pleasure to deal with. From scheduling the appointment over the phone to arriving to the office. Everyone is positive, upbeat and understanding. I went in with firm expectations of wanting to express my needs and concerns with the doctor before being touched, and was able to do so without question. Dr. Jordan took his time to listen to me, and was willing to grant my wish of being completely numb before my mouth was touched. Within 10 minutes, Dr. Jordan had gotten father with me than any previous dentist had in over 2 hours. He was gentle, explained everything thoroughly, and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable (even when giving the numbing shot, which I barely felt AT ALL!). In addition, I have Cerebral Palsy and have a service dog to help me control my muscle spasms, and she was able to stay with me the entire time I was in the chair, which was amazing! Dr. Jordan mentioned that I should have my wisdom teeth removed (which is something I have known for a long time, but have avoided). Due to his compassionate care, I am actually feeling comfortable with moving forward and getting that done within the next few months. The level of trust and comfort in this office simply cannot be beat! All in all, I can't say how thankful I am to have found Tomalty. I am feeling determined, comfortable and confident about getting back on track with my regular cleanings and annual checkups. That is saying a lot considering I used to lose sleep the night before dental appointments and avoided going at all costs.
