I purchased a $2500 dishwasher and had nothing but problems trying to schedule again to rectify the issues. Nobody answers the phone at the location so I would keep going in to get it scheduled and settled. I trusted again and purchased a $3600 bed and base and the driver gave me a text saying he'd be there in 30 minutes nearly three hours and two phone calls and he arrived but without the mattress protector which the manager acted like he was doing me a favor by getting it a week after the mattress delivered. I picked it up but how am I to get it on an 18 inch thick mattress that probably weighs 300-400 pounds? Things happen I get it but the lack of creative thinking or a desire to fix the issues was bullshit! If I could give zero stars, I would without hesitation. read more

My purchasing of a new washer and dryer process began smoothly with an easy to talk to salesman. But it's completely downhill from there. Starting with delivery, the staff were very rushed and stated my plumbing needed work. The person who made that assessment also let me know that he was not an expert, and when we went downstairs to talk "the expert" he agreed without even seeing my unit or machine. Didn't even leave the truck actually. Then they stated it'd all be fine and i'd get a call right away to reschedule delivery and they'd let me know what needs to be done. Never happened. Today is day 11. I've called several times. Sent emails. Included my sales rep. and management. Still no date scheduled for delivery. Given that I had a hard credit pull, used their financing, wasted two days off, and have been very patient I think they deserve a 1 star. There's so much uncertainty financially, no one needs this for major purchases like a washer dryer. Especially after being told next day was possible. Two weeks later is appalling. We had purchased a Thermador dishwasher at Friedman's before they abruptly closed. We never received the appliance. I chose to go to Howard's to repurchase the dishwasher as they are listed on the Thermador store directory as a preferred vendor. I purchased the dishwasher through Howard's sales rep Eric C. The buying experience was great. Unfortunately when I repurchased the dishwasher, Thermador had changed their product line and the model I ordered was back ordered for several months. Eric stayed on top of our order and followed up with the manufacturer and us numerous times. We finally got the dishwasher. The appliance stopped working within days of installation, and the 'customer service' team has been utterly unhelpful. They told me to contact the manufacturer directly, which is ridiculous considering I bought it from them. I have purchased from Howard's before, but not at this location. Glad I stopped in. They are located in Long Beach in the Marina Pacifica shopping center upstairs from AMC movie theatre. I purchased a bed from another location and this location had a huge floor model sale on motion bases. The manager John was really helpful and gave me a demo on how to operate the motion base and went over all its features. While I was getting my motion base tutorial, John took my blazer and put it in the LG steam closet (I have added this to my wish list). John was scheduled to be off the next day and told me that he would follow up to confirm delivery. The next day the Assistant Manager, Carlos called on behalf of John to confirm delivery. I was really impressed by the level of service I received. This store has beautiful kitchens on display with appliances that actually work. The entertainment area displays a large selection of TVs that do up to 98 inches. This location just received in a new line of mattresses and they have this really cool Kiosk that demos how air circulates through a mattress and materials that will keep you cool while you sleep. I have found that between the two locations I have purchased from, each one is unique. Will definitely come back again. We purchased refrigerator from here. It took four weeks to get when they came to deliver it. The delivery person in charge was really rude. He told us to buy a smaller refrigerator, even though we measured to make sure it would make it up the stairs through the underpass and through the door With plenty of room to spare. he sign wanted to sign a waiver, stating we would be responsible damage done moving refrigerator into upstairs condo. in the end he told us he was sorry that we boater the wrong refrigerator . We decided not to take the fridge. He said sorry and laughed. Also it took us three weeks to get a refund. We. ended up buying it from same refrigerator from Home Depot The movers were much nicer no problems getting it in. Horrible experience! Bought a very high-end 17k Jenn Air refrigerator in February, paid for the pre-installation, build in installation, etc. I was told it would take 30-60 days which i understood, to my surprise about a month later they called to deliver it. When they came it was still missing a door panel but that was the least of my concerns as the fridge was still accessible. The installation took about 6 hours where i had to pay an additional $400 to the installers to go get additional building supplies. (not sure why since i had already paid for the installation) About 3 weeks later they called to let me know the door panel had arrived, when they came to install they saw that the original installation was done incorrectly, meaning the door panel could not be put on until the install was redone. That took another 3 months to get it going, Howards kept sending the wrong folks which had no idea how to proceed with the install correction. On Friday 7/8/22, they correct crew came out to correct the issue, unfortunately the new install "which took another 5 hours" has an flaw, as the fridge will not open and close easily an freezer condensation is growing icicles inside, meaning the install was too tight, they are supposed to be sending a crew out today as I expressed my concern after they left. As of yet nobody has shown. The entire process which has now been almost 5 month total has been unbelievable and unacceptable. Will not be purchasing anything else from Howards, will go with Friedman's or a different sore in the future. In the meantime, I can only hope this nightmare will be over soon. read more

When my 13-year-old over-the-range microwave oven went out, I went to the new Howard's location at Marina Pacifica to shop for a replacement. I went in with a specific GE model in mind that fit my limited budget. Unfortunately, it wasn't in stock, and I didn't want to wait a couple weeks since I use my microwave oven a lot. I was shown an LG model that was over $100 more, but the helpful salesman who assisted me, Carlos Pacheco, was able to offer free installation though so the overall cost still worked. I also liked that there was no upselling or high pressure. Installation was scheduled for today (5/30/22), a holiday, and I received updates on what time to expect delivery and installation. The installation went smoothly although I was dinged for an extra $100 to drill 2 screw holes into the solid surface material on the backsplash. I had been advised there could be additional installation charges, but this seemed excessive. Overall, I'm happy with the sales and service from Howard's. read more
