I have called this business several times and get an answering service in the Philippians. This is not helpful. The people that answer the phone are sometimes not understandable. Why can't they use an answering service in the US? Also, they make you give them a credit card to bill for your CPAP supplies then send you a bill with a return envelope. That can be very confusing to old people. read more

Horrible customer service and billing irregularities. I went to pick up my CPAP supplies today and I was told that my order was canceled because my prescription ran out 4 days ago. I called to put in my order over 7 days ago. The customer service representative never said anything about my prescription expiring, but if anything gave me a date of today to pick up my 6-month supplies. Today, the customer service rep reviewed some notes and said I was told of the expiration date. It seems that not only are the customer service reps at Howard's incompetent in performing their job from the beginning, but they also falsify customer notes. On another note, I have experienced unethical billing from Howard's on rental equipment. They tried to charge me a late fee for a rental bed that was due on a Monday and because it was not received on Sunday (when they were not open), I was charged and told that I should know that on a monthly rental the item is due back on the day before the 30th day of the month. My Daughter to this day is out of a wheelchair because of this Company plus with the wheelchair they ordered our daughter feel straight to the ground face forward twice!!!! My life partner needed a hospital bed as a result of a stroke and stage 4 cancer. Doctor sent script to Howards on July 17th for a wheel chair, a bed and a commode. They contacted me after a week went by wanting to make an appointment to fit the wheelchair but said they needed more infor from doctor and he had not responded. After 12 days, I asked what info they needed. When I looked at the form the doctor sent on July 17th, it had all the info they needed but they claimed they never received that form. I emailed it to them and it took them another 3 days to respond. By that time, I no longer needed it as my life partner had to go to a nursing home because I could not take care of him. For almost 2 weeks without the proper bed, I went thru hell! These people are incompetent and uncaring! They should be ashamed. Go anywhere else for medical equipment, not Howard's !!! read more

I have already written a review at the end of November and have to reiterate that this company is without a doubt the worst to deal with for any reason, 2nd only to Comcast/Xfinity but it is close. Have been waiting for a call back for over 2 and a half weeks and it seems that if they are out any money, they should be taking care of the billing for a damn wheelchair. Shame on you for running a business like this and pretending to give a crap about people that unfortunately have to go there for medical supplies. I know I am not the only one who is ticked off at this place, I have family that said "don't even THINK about going there for any reason! Customer service is only good if the employees feel good, management cares more about their own well being than those of their employees, patients, vendors, and partners. No stars for Howard's. They have decided to adopt Verizon's worst-in-the-county customer service model. Since they cater to people in need and not just cell phone users, I nominate them for worst business! I came in to quickly pick up a called-in prescription. A guy took my first name only and then the waiting began. That was it. I tried to tell someone I was leaving, but there was no one to tell. I waited ten minutes. They were all busy, but not with customers and there were at least three people ahead of me. I spent many years in retail and I know customer service. You won't find it here. Maybe as the largest provider in town, they think they are too big to fail? They're not. Goodbye Howard's. You did it to yourself. read more

I have dropped them in the past and will do it again. Waiting 2 weeks for supplies that we need. They have promised to call me back 3 times and have not done it. I refused to get off the phone today until I talked to a supervisor. I will leave them as soon as this is settled. What a nightmare. read more

I am writing this review out of total frustration and the hope that others will not be similarly treated. Over two months ago I contacted Howard's Home Modification/Medical Supplies office to get an estimate on adapting my home for safety for a 91 year old. That included adding ramps indoors for steps, and for steps from the front door. I called again today and was told that nothing more had been done. I asked that I be contacted for explanation and was told that couldn't be confirme (i.e., they probably won't call you). Unfortunately, this is the only business in town which may explain the rude treatment. Since I began this endeavor, my husband has experienced two falls. I will be having to seek a general contractor for help. I suggest that others don't bother with Howard's and for the sake of safety, go directly to another source. I am writing on behalf of my father who has experienced crappy assistance from this place. He was ok'd a prescription with a copay, paid it, then recieved the items over a month and a half later...the kicker is that after paying the copay, a bill came in for $90 additional. When he tried to figure out why, they said it was because insurance would not cover it...even though they originally said it was. Then he said he would return the "unused" prescription for a full refund but they would not because it was over 30 days...funny...the darned prescription took 90 days to even arrive. Be careful dealing with these people. Check your bill, make sure what they say is there and only billed one time. I have a billing that shows a mask as part of a kit, then they billed for a separate mask on second line. Also, if they don't have what you need in stock they will try to get you to take something else, like a smaller c-pap mask. i.e. a medium instead of a large. Be real careful dealing with these folks, they have good stuff but charge a real premium price for their items. read more
