Used to be good when it was a family business, but recent experience was disappointing. Parts person didn't listen well, though there was plenty of up-front information provided. Maybe if he gets some training in actually listening, it would help. He couldn't even get my return phone number correct. He lied and said they didn't have records on us, then called our other number on file (from before.) So, again, he was well aware we had two bikes. I hate to think of this version of the story, but I wonder if they were trying to rip me off. He said he was ordering tires for the two bikes, and when we arrived, he tried to pass off only one set of tires, that were truly only $350/set check that fact online (max) for $650. He knew I was ordering two sets (I said I had two bikes and he had our records, proof was he called my alternate phone number,) and they're smoking something to think can pass of that kind of markup for only one set of tires. Deal was canceled and I'm not going back. Glad to have gotten out before other issues presented themselves. Smh read more

Automated reply for email contact quickly responded with 'we will contact you shortly' never materialized into any kind of reply. I do not think this business really exists! read more

Bought a CMX1100 Rebel from here, rode it for 360 miles and the right fork started leaking, bad enough to take it back for service under warranty. Now I realize that this was very unusual, this is a Honda, and they are high quality and high performance, and they stand behind their products, So I called, and they said bring it in. I took the bike over there on June 14th and on June 21st I called to check the status, the guy told me that they haven't ordered the part. I asked why not? He gave me a count on how many customers they have, I told him that was not my problem are you going to work on the bike? He said yeah, I said, next thing I want to hear is when and what day will it be done? He said, "ordering the part now, it takes 3 days for delivery", I said then 2 days to find my bike? He said he'll put on when the part arrives. I called back on the 28th, part not there yet, so I called Thursday the 30th, they got the part, well I asked will it be done today? he said yes. My feeling is if I had not called, it would not have been fixed. My Dad bought his and my bike, a CL350, CL100, from HOWARDS HONDA, in 1973, How times have changed NOT for the better. Sure miss Mr. Howard, I will not go here for my scheduled service on my bike. I am religious about the recommended service on my bikes, and yes, I have a 1999 Honda VT1100C Spirit still running, my business will go where they want me. I bought my bike back there in 2010 and have had nothing but positive things to say when I take it in for service. I dropped it off for a oil change and they even dropped me off at work I was going to call a uber . I was incredibly disappointed with the service we got at Howard's. We brought our jet ski there for maintenance, and it stayed there for over 8 weeks...we had to constantly call for updates because we weren't receiving any information. Each time we called, we would get a different answer as to when it would be ready and multiple times they promised it would be ready by a certain day and then it wasn't. We were very inconvenienced and not once did they acknowledge the poor customer service. To top it all off, we had a giant bill at the end with no discount of any kind, and I truly believe we were up-charged in terms of the hours of labor billed versus how many hours actually went into fixing our jet ski. I hope that by writing this review, I spare others the horrible experience we had...and that Howard's evaluates and improves their customer service. read more

What a great experience I had at Howard's this week! My Honda Metropolitan's battery was dying so I called this bike shop, spoke with a very friendly man who quickly checked inventory and said that they would be happy to put it in for me at no charge. I arrived after work as they were closing, but the owner was most accommodating, gave me a great price on the battery, offered me birthday cake!, had the garage remove/dispose of the old one, checked my charging system to ensure that there were no issues there, checked my tire pressure (and filled them), and sent me on my way in less than 18 minutes. Super nice guys, professional, and knowledgeable. Customer service doesn't get any better than this. read more

I left a review regarding my previous experience. It was horrible. Please read that first. Anyway, when I received a call from the general manager a few days ago, I thought, "Good! He's calling to do the right thing!" Was I ever wrong! Brent, the General Manager, called and left a voicemail so I immediately called him back. He says, "I want to talk to you about this online review you left." I asked what questions he had, thinking he was digging for more information on how to correct his businesses problems. He says, "Well I guess I need you to tell me exactly what it is that we did wrong." I immediately realize that he's extremely defensive, and isn't calling because he is concerned at all with my service.  I was floored. Is he serious? I said, "Well you read the review so what is it that you have questions about?" He responds, "Yeah, I read it. I don't see where we did anything wrong." So I explain my experience to him AGAIN and he AGAIN says he doesn't see where his people did anything wrong. I say, "Well, you sound like a General Manager who missed the basics of customer service." To which he replies, "You sound like a guy who just doesn't want to pay for his stuff!"  Seriously, Brent?  I'm surprised that this guy is someone's general manager. I digress. So the two of us go over the timeline of my service again, from July 29th (part was dropped off) to August 24th(Received a call to pick it up). There was one discrepancy. He insisted that they had called me on the 8th of August to tell me my part was done. I did not receive a call or voicemail. One would seem to understand that penciling in a note on a service ticket that you called someone would be a lot easier to forge than phone records. That's neither here nor there. Let's just say, for instance, that Howard's Honda HAD called me on the 8th and I obviously missed it. Is it satisfactory for you to wait an additional 16 days before you attempt to call me again? I think not. He then says, "So, you're not responsible enough to pick up your part on time and it's our fault?" Is this guy serious? Cue Ashton! I'm getting Punk'd! I then discuss with him the fact that I had been speaking to one of his employees at the counter when another customer walks up and asks the employee a question and his employee just ignores me and walks off to help this other guy. Wait for this! You're going to LOVE this! He says, "Well, life isn't always going to be fair! Don't get bent out of shape about that!" This guy is telling me that life isn't fair! Apparently, the standard at Howard's Honda is extremely POOR customer service. So we hem and haw back and forth about this for the better part of 12 minutes. I repeatedly tell him that my Yelp review was not about money, not about wanting something for free. It was about how I was treated. Plain and simple. Then he finally gets down to the real reason he called. He tells me that he will give me $50 bucks back if I rescind my Yelp review! His phone call was never about making it right. It was never about apologizing, which he never did. It was about getting me to remove my bad review. I told him I would have to think about it, and that I would get back with him. Well, Brent, I thought about it. You can KEEP that $50 and I'll KEEP my Yelp review! I see a few other poor reviews on here too. I wonder if you called and tried to bribe them.  Stay away from Howard's Honda, unless you enjoy poor service and even worse management. It's a shame too. I used to love that place. NEVER AGAIN! After two wretched experiences over the past two years I will NEVER trust these people again. I though it was worth a second try, but holy cow- this is by far the worst excuse for customer service/business I've ever experienced and it just won't end. They've sequestered my Honda Scooter for *months* at a time in both cases, reneged on EVERY promise, and ignored me as a customer. Last time they returned my scooter not working. This time they've had both my AND my husband's scooters practically all summer in spite of my repeated promises to deliver it "absolutely by tomorrow!" I call often and they merely provide me with lame excuses and certainly NO EFFORT at reparation. Had we been able we'd have picked them up weeks ago though they won't run. I want to make certain Nashville's other scooter riders don't experience the incredible frustration, dishonesty, and loss of time without a ride as we have thanks to Howard's. I feel certain that if ours were full motorcycles our experience would have been quite different. read more

My lawnmower died and I didn't feel like reviving it. So I bought one at Lowes that I had to assemble. But the handle was deformed, so I put my old lawnmower's handle on it, but it didn't start. I took it back and decided to buy a Honda lawnmower. I found out the local dealer around here is Howard's Motorcycles. Well, they are great. I apparently put bad gas in it one day and brought it in, and they diagnosed it and sucked it out, and didn't charge me. Anyway, this place reminds me of the type of service I haven't seen since the 70s. I recommend them. read more

Went to have my motorcycle looked at because of a subtle sputtering issue, but I also happened to mention that my radiator wasn't hooked up completely since the radiator can be a pain to hook back up and just had to get it good enough to ride it to the "dealer" to get the bike looked at and fixed, and also mentioned it was low on coolant, just so they'd know and maybe put some more in. Well, it took over a week before I heard anything back, and when I did they said it's ready and didn't even ask me what I wanted done with it before they did it. All they did was focus on the radiator issue and not the main sputtering issue. They said it runs good, no codes, etc., but it still sputtered; nothing had changed. I'm not happy with the service, the length of time it took, lack of communication, and kind of your stereotypical stupid, careless mechanic. I won't be going back again. read more

After giving Howards my business for three years I'm taking my scooter elsewhere. It seems I'm being scammed- perhaps b/c I'm a woman and shouldn't catch on? My Honda Metro scooter is my primary transportation and after 6 weeks of run-around and three "repairs" I still have no working ride. Worse yet, the mechanic (a good 20 years my elder) decided to take the opportunity of flirting with me and inquiring whether I owned my home and whether I am single. Initially, my scooter throttle got stuck so they picked it up for repairs, replaced the *battery cable* saying it must've shorted(?), then tried to return it to me with no real repair (I'd had no battery/starter issue whatsoever). I complained that they'd not found the problem, so they glued the rubber throttle handle and returned it. The throttle was then stuck in *full throttle*. They again picked it up, broke my kickstand lock, and replaced the throttle cable (is there one?), then returned it as is to my home at which time Nice Mr. Mechanic was flirtatious. The scooter ran for the moment I tried it; I immediately parked it for my holiday week out of town, tried to start it this morning, and it won't go at all. I called Greg at SOUTHERN CYCLES (no, I didn't know him before, we're not related, and I'm not being paid for this), and he assured me that he's in business to treat his customers better than this. He was much more helpful and respectful than the people at Howards, so I'll be using them from now on. read more

I was travelling on my Honda CTX1300 going through Nashville TN on my way home to KY. My rear tire blew. I had roadside assistance. So they picked me up and said I had two choices, one was Howards Honda and the other name I forget. I chose Howards. To be fair, it was quick service, BUT they really screwed me on the price of the tire! They promised me they would take it easy on me, but that did not happen. I paid $400 for a $190 tire! The technician did his job perfectly, but it's just that they sold me a tire at a really over inflated price. For this reason, I would not recommend this shop. read more

We were on our way from Apple Valley, Minnesota to the 40th annual Wing Ding in Knoxville, Tennessee, when we had a problem adjusting the suspension on our 2004 Honda Goldwing trike. The problem surfaced in Memphis and my husband hoped it was a problem with the switch or a relay. He called Howard Honda from Memphis and indicated we would be in Nashville the next day. We arrived at the dealership at about 12:45 p.m., hot, tired, hungry and in a hurry to get the problem fixed and on to Wing Ding. Everyone at the dealership was phenomenally friendly and helpful. The owner's father even used his own truck to take us down the street to a restaurant so we could get lunch. They got the bike right in -- unfortunately, the problem was bigger than a relay and would require that disassembly of the entire rear end suspension and replacement of a new motor. Fortunately, it was only a comfort and drivability issue; not safety or the potential to damage something else, so we opted to wait until we returned to Minnesota to get the problem repaired, but we definitely appreciated all the help provided by everyone at Howard Honda. If you are in the Nashville area and need service, we definitely recommend Howard Honda for fast, friendly, top-notch service. read more

Howard's Honda does business how business should be done. The first time I walked in there, they talked me out of buying the motorcycle I was looking at. They could have made a sale, but instead they made a customer. Their parts and service department answered a million questions I had about working on the bike that I bought elsewhere, and they were patient and helpful in making sure I ordered all the right parts and knew what to do with them. They could have insisted that they have to charge to even think about what work it needs, but instead they made a friend. I've bought two bikes from them since, and won't look anywhere else. I trust Ken and Josh to do the work I'm not confident enough to do myself, and they've always been awesome. Two great guys that do great work. Maybe I could get parts shipped to my door in two days from one of the online mega stores, but I'll get my parts and stuff from Howard's, because I want them to get the business. They've more than earned it. Brent, BJ, Jeremy, Ken, Josh, and Marley, thank you, a thousand times over. You folks are the best there is. read more

Beware! Howard's Honda service manager will not go the extra step to be a decent guy and do the right thing. Very, very unhappy with the way I was treated by the service manager. I was told the service would be completed on time when I dropped my bike off. I even explained my situation (buyer for bike would come from out of state to pick up the bike if the service could be completed on time) and they agreed it would be finished. It was not finished. They would not stay a extra 30 minutes later to complete the job. The service manager stated it was because the bike had needed a part and he had to wait in traffic for 30 minutes while going to get the part. (a part that I had asked for on the previous service, which also had been written up on that service order but not done, the service manager told me that they just forgot to put it on at that time).The manager refused to finish the service even though the buyer was on his way from out of state to pick up the bike. Needless to say, when the buyer arrived the bike was still up on the rack at the closed Howard's Honda. I have spent over a thousand dollars for service, parts and merchandise at Howard's Honda in the past but I will never ever do business with them again because of the service manager. Do not expect the Howard's Honda service manager to do the right thing. Sorry way to run a business. read more
