I also attended a weekend guitar retreat she hosted in Spring 2016 at her house. There are no words to express how blessed I am to learn the guitar from her. I find Charlotte to be a "one stop source" for music. She teaches everything from theory to reading notes, getting the right rhythm, techniques, learning songs, scales, voice, piano, etc. While she helps me build a solid music foundation, she also advises me on my posture, my breathing, my practice sessions, and my life habits to be a better guitar player. There are so many teachers out there, but from my experience it is hard to find one that continuously challenges you and keeps you inspired and motivated. What works best for me is to see her on a regular basis instead of once a week (thank you Skype!) We became a team and our lessons are much more like assisted practice time. Each lesson is unique and her method is flexible yet complete and thorough. Contrary to what most people believe, Skype lessons are pretty much similar to in-person lessons. Charlotte can really hear and see everything. I don't feel like it depreciates the lessons. Anyhow, I don't think all teachers can be great teachers on Skype like she is. One can tell that she has experience in that matter with many students living all around the country. I highly recommend Charlotte whether you are a first time player, a seasoned artist, an inspiring musician, or even a music instructor. She has something to offer everyone!

I talked to the guys here a lot before I took my amp in for repair, and everything seemed great…read more They were very friendly and sounded like they knew what they were talking about. I took my Silvertone 1484 amp head (mid '60's i believe) in for new tubes because a couple of the power tubes had blown out. The guy who worked on it, Cameron, said he'd worked on a lot of Silvertones, and even joked around asking if I wanted to trade it in after it was fixed. I had been having a lot of issues with it, so I agreed to trade it in towards a Fender Twin Reverb they had in stock after the repairs were complete. We agreed to replace all the tubes and capacitors for around $330, he even said he'd build a custom plate on the back to protect the tubes. A couple weeks later I went in to pick up the amp, or rather, trade it in, for the Twin Reverb, only I couldn't buy it because someone was renting it for SXSW. That's fine, I'll just come back later after SXSW and pick up the Fender. Came back after SXSW, went to talk to Cameron about trading in the amp again, he looked like he completely forgot who i was or what amp I had. He traded in someone else's Silvertone over mine (at this point, I had been waiting for a month, borrowing amps from other people to play shows because I was expecting the wait to pay off) because "it sounded better." Okay, so.. I spent $300 for you to put in new tubes and caps and you don't even prefer the tubes that you use?? Also, he didn't put the back plate on the amp. So I dealt with it, because there was nothing else I could do, and he didn't have a need for 2 Silvertones. I give him my debit card, take my amp home, and the first thing i notice, the tremolo built into the amp doesn't work anymore! Played it for a couple of days to see if it was just a hiccup and one of the new tubes arcs out and shoots fire out the back of my amp. Awesome!! I take the amp back and his attitude towards helping me is less than enthusiastic. He warrantied the tube, but I had to pay another $100 for the tube socket to be replaced, which wasn't part of the original upgrade of the amp. Same goes for the Tremolo, I told him to forget about it 'cause I didn't use it too much except for on one song that I play live, and the tremolo wasn't that good anyway. SO, after a couple weeks and another $100 (he put the back plate on this time too), I had my amp back in full working order. Oh darn, no, i'm an idiot, why would it be working?? Channel 2 is BARELY audible when turned up all the way! So here I am, my amp which only needed new tubes and capacitors no longer has tremolo, and the entire second channel cannot be heard. Oh, and Cameron reneged on trading in my amp which had been sitting there for a month. I've now put more money into repairing it than I originally paid for it, so at this time, I am not in a position to put more into it. Shame too, as it is a beautiful sounding amp when it's working right. Maybe some people have good time at Tonecraft, but I sure as crap didn't. Won't be going back there ever again. I've got an amazing new amp on the way and I'm going to put the Silvertone on craigslist and cut my losses.

The performance by the Lebanese lady (forgot her name) was so beautiful! She was multi talented lady. Loved her Lebanese songs, the french, Spanish and you name it-she sang it all! The African dance was fun too and the Mexican singer was fun. I was glad that they set up coffee and snacks stands as well despite cold windy weather that night make people hungry and need some warm drink. Thank you ladies, it was fabulous!

Imagine a…read moremagical place where you can make music (even if you're not talented), connect with friends in silly fun ways (without like, actually making a fool out of yourself), work out those upper arms (let's do this ladies) AND have something to talk about and impress people with that doesn't involve mass quantities of booze or epic fails. The people here are genuine, they're interesting, they're warm and generous and awesome. You should take a class (or several) at Rattletree. It's unlike anything you've done before.
