My husband and I have had an account with First Citizen's Bank for 26 years. We chose First…read moreCitizens because it was the only bank in Franklinton, but this branch shut down years ago. It has been easier to just go with the flow rather than change banks, so we drive to the next town for our banking needs. We went to the Henderson branch to open an account for our grandchild on Thursday, April 7. (We live much closer to the Youngsville branch, but that branch does not open a new account for walk-ins with no appointment.) The account manager in Henderson told us some paperwork needed to be corrected before we could open the account so we spent several days running between government agencies. We got everything corrected, copied, and notarized as requested. The problem started when we went back on Wednesday, July 12 with the new paperwork only to be told "All of the forms have to be corrected for a period of 90 days before OUR SYSTEM at First Citizen's will allow us to open an account. WE CAN NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT FOR HER FOR 3 MONTHS." What in the world? We were dumbfounded. When we asked about options, the manager said there were none. Why wre we not told about this on July 7? I guess First Citizens doesn't want new business or understand that children tend to stay with the bank their families use for a lifetime. We left and drove to the Truist Bank down the road and started a new account for both us and her. Shame First Citizens Bank.
