Plus, a man getting a haircut with the barber was literally facing straight at me -- awkward!!!! The new space feels unfinished, deenergizing and sterile. I'm sorry but I can not stand that passerbys in the mall can see me in my unkept state due to the two large panes of uncovering windows. Couldn't there at least be frosting on the windows for privacy? Sadly, I would not go there if it weren't for Tifini. For the cost of services, the environment should be MUCH better. First Choice Hair is even way better. Sorry for the complaints, but this place needs serious work and more space. DM

Their new facility is crowded and noisy and not the least bit inviting. It's windows are also open to the mall and clients feel like they're in a fishbowl. So much for a relaxed quiet visit to Angles - it's now tiny, crowded, noisy and the exact opposite of "relaxing".

Brought my daughter in for a consult and service to get her hair done for her Gr 12 grad photos…read more Had emailed Rees 2 inspiration photos a month prior to this and was told one looked like a color starting at $70 and the one looked like a root melt starting at $180. During the consultation with Rees a plan was made for proceeding with service. 2 weeks later we confirmed the appt but was told Rees was sick and had a different stylist to step in. My daughter had platinum blond hair and we explained to the new gal that she wanted low lights to give depth & dimension but absolutely no brown tones and no silver or ashy colors. 2 hrs later my daughter had the color washed out and was very upset because her hair was not at all what she asked for. The fronts and tips on the bottom at the back were all silver grey and the lowlights all throughout her hair were brown. The stylist then proceeded to add a toner to remove the silver. It still wasn't enough as her whole hair appeared dirty blond and washed out looking. My daughter was devastated. I explained she wanted the blond look that she had when we arrived but just a minimal lowlight refresh .. The stylist then added yet another toner and brightened up her hair a touch more but after 5 painful hrs, my daughter said it was ok just to get out of there but really wasn't happy. She felt her hair was ruined. Then came the bill. Now remember I was originally quoted "starting at $180" and I figured it would be abit more with all the hassles but I did not expect it to be DOUBLE.. plus a tip. They expected me to pay $444 for a complete disaster!! The stylist called Rees and had me chat with her but after being spoken down to rudely and not listening to anything I had to say, I figured a review warning everyone else would be better than trying to reason with her. So I paid the bill but I'll never be back!! So here's a GIANT warning that if you go there, get them to repeat back what your wishes are and be sure to confirm what you're paying ahead of time or plan to get ripped off!!

Everything seemed to be going fine until he started washing out my hair, he was extremely rough slapping my head at times constantly pulling on my earrings (one of which was actually pulled out and I guess fell down the drain because I never saw it again) he then said he was going to put a hair mask on and didn't say anything else about it so I said ok, come to find out it was an extra $40 for it!. I had asked for some side bags so he cut and they were HORRIBLE, they were tiny whisps of hair that are not bangs of any kind and don't fall in properly with the rest of my hair. He then blow dried, I was excited to see the colour but when it was all said and done he had lightened near my roots which was the opposite of what I told him I wanted and when I told him that he just told me it "looked good" and that I should sleep on it see how it looks the next day and if I don't like it I could come back to have it fixed. I agreed and in the morning I still hated it so I went back and he did fix it a little bit but by then he had coloured my natural hair which again was not what I wanted. To make matters worse he then proceeded to tell me he likes my energy and asks if I am looking for someone to have fun with outside of my marriage.......ABSOLUTELY INAPPROPRIATE & UNPROFESSIONAL! I was over charge, my hair did not turn out how I wanted and he made advances towards me. I honestly do not know how he is still in business.

Omg !!! I have been trying to get my hair the way I want it for YEARS!!!…read moreI have lots of grey/silver hair with my naturally dark brown hair. I wanted my silver to blend in. I've gotten reddish hI-lights REPEATEDLY. Told my hair just lifts warm. I had a long time, 19+ years, stylist. I changed to a younger funkier stylist. 2x I didn't get what I wanted. I was very sad. I was leaving for holiday in a few weeks and really wanted my hair "did" for it. I asked a friend who she goes to cuz her hair is magnificent, she said Leah was her girl. Leah was booked the friendly receptionist suggested Sam and I could get in the next day. I booked then almost canceled. I was terrified of getting something ugly. I went even though I was so scared. I arrived 20 minutes early. The receptionist greeted me and offered a hot cuppa coffee and shortly after Sam came and got me. I showed him a few, many lol, pics on my Pinterest and he said yes we can do that. Not today but we'll get started. I thought oh great this song and dance again. I've heard this !!! He said I see a icy blonde and get rid of the uneven black... Balance it out. Within 45 minutes I was under the drier and then the sink, waiting for my hair to process and lift. The sink had a foot rest and was THE most comfy wash chair I'd ever been in. Sam explained everything he did along the way. He cut my hair and taught the receptionist how he does layers. He was kind and patient with her. Asking questions about her schooling and being so supportive and enthusiastic about her progress. Sam cut my hair and left it longer than I wanted but it looked AWESOME!!!! He trimmed a tad more, blew it dry then had the receptionist curl my hair. She was so sweet. Talkative and kind. She took me outside to take pics and then cashed me out. Sam came over to wish me well and thank me for my business. I took my own pics and sent them to my hubby and daughter. They both loved my hair and even commented that it's NEVER looked so good. I will most definitely be back and will tell everyone to go there !!!!!

I have been looking for a hairdresser for a couple of years after coming to Calgary. I have asked women on the streets if I thought their cuts were done nicely. Then I would go and check the salons spending lots of money and having one failure after another. Sometimes the I would go to the same place for 2-3 times until they ruin my hair or make a fatal mistake in cutting. And then repeat ad nauseum. Finally I got lucky. I saw a lady with a great haircut, I made a compliment, she said she gets great comments about her hair every time, I got the address and the name. It was early March and I had to wait for two weeks to get an appointment. " He must be popular"- I said to the receptionist. "Oh, yes!"-she said with pride in her voice. Sam is great. He is never pushy. He will ask what you want but I prefer to ask _him_ what is the best for my hair. His salon carries a line of products but he never up-sells. And the products work, too. Life is so much easier when you have a great hair dresser. ;-))

I started using Alice and a few of the other stylists after I heard from many people about how good and experienced they were. The hair stylists at Hair Booth are professional, super friendly, and go the extra mile to ensure me and my kids have a good experience. I enjoy the extra service they offer such as a head massage prior to the cut, which is so simple but relaxing. They treat you like family and the service is exceptional. The salon is very nice and clean...they even have a photo booth for their clients to use...which is unique. The staff are great and accommodating to my busy schedule. They fit me in last minute, which isn't easy to do when many of their stylist have a loyal following of clients. There are not a lot of good hair salons in the area and would definitely recommend others to try them out....you'll leave happy and satisfied. Thanks for the great service.

She recommended a weekly treatment which has made my hair even better over time. I look forward to my next appointment for another cut and highlights. Very nice modern salon.
