I began this review a while back and never wrote the first word. I had a knee replacement procedure with Dr Martin Roche who is part of HHS. My surgery was done at another facility as he wanted me to stay overnight which they didn't or don't accommodate. However ny initial and two hookups were done at HHS IN West Palm Beach and it's a great facility. Parking was easy, and from the minute you enter the building, you get or I got the feeling of cleanliness and professionalism. Dr Roche is the best and made this procedure as easy as possible for me. The care quality and type of care is great Dr. Simović did my shoulder surgery. He's a major. The administrative at the front is horrendous today when I checked in the woman was nasty. I came up just to make sure I had done everything correctly and she gave me an attitude and said. "well do you have any paperwork in your hand"? I said no and she said well do you have any paperwork in your hand? She said it again and I said well I don't think so but my phone she was completely nasty. That should be attended to. when I needed a second opinion for surgery that another hand surgeon recommended, I saw Dr. Butler at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). both my wife and I were impressed with how we were acknowledged as soon as we walked in the door. My original appointment was for 10 o'clock, but we were told to arrive at 9:30 as they were going to do x-rays. I told the woman that I made the appointment with that x-rays were done less than a week ago and she responded that Dr. Butler still would like to do another set of x-rays. When I arrived at 9:30, Dr. Butler's physician assistant saw the current set of x-rays that I had submitted on the patient portal previous and said that another set of x-rays would not need to be done. Even though my appointment with Dr. Butler was for 10 o'clock, knowing that another set of x-rays was not necessary he saw me at about 945. He concurred with the recommendation for surgery. Given the attentiveness of the staff at HSS and Dr. Butler's own shall we say bedside manner I decided to have him do the surgery. The surgery was done two weeks ago and was a success. Dr. Butler saw the hand and the results of the surgery. He then suggested that I begin therapy in two weeks. I saw the occupational therapist at HSS Nikki who examined my hand and made a custom brace that I will be wearing for the next few weeks. I am very pleased with the results of the surgery. I would recommend HSS and Dr. Butler for issues that you were having with your hand and or shoulder. read more

Amazing care from start to finish. We are so fortunate to have HSS in Palm Beach County. Well worth the wait to get in for surgery with one of the top shoulder doctors really in our country - Dr. Ryan Simovitch. I see other top ortho doctor we have seen in area is here- Dr. Nicolas Sama. From initial appointment, to scheduling surgery & now physical therapy, we have been so pleased with HSS. Easy to do paperwork, get approvals from our insurance, access their portal - even their valet parking makes things easy. Did I say - appointments run on time?! Expecting to only need to pay $60 co-pay for the initial doctors exam and the difference in cost with my insurance from x-rays, I received a bill 2 months after my appointment for $521 for the outpatient visit (which the $60 co-pay was for). I met with the doctor for 3 minutes and received my physical therapy script and pain med rx. Absolute joke. I don't know who is worse here, United Healthcare or HSS for not clearly advising the costs of the service here. read more

I completed the HSS "Request for Release of Information" to obtain my MRI that had been done there. I faxed it to the fax number given on the form. I went there NINE days later to pick it up since I had 30 days to do this. I tried to call in advance but could only leave a voicemail with my doctor since no one picked up. When I got there, they searched everywhere for my disc. It could not be found. I had to complete a new form and waited for a very long time as my wife waited for me in the car. Inexcusable! When I finally got the disc, we of course hit rush hour traffic. There was no explanation of where my fax ended up and why my disc wasn't ready for pickup. Very frustrating. read more

Best experience ever, in all my 76 years!!! ALL of Dr. Summers' staff participating in getting me there were SO helpful, cooperative, so humanly personable and committed to taking the best care of me. I feel so welcomed, like I was checking into a fancy hotel on a vacation - and it actually worked out that way! Surgery with HSS at Good Samaritan was an amazingly successful, comfortable experience. I regained the use of my right hip to ride my horse again! I haven't been able to ride without severe pain in over a year, and I had ZERO PAIN, walking again in 1 day, riding again 8 weeks after my procedure. My balance even improved. I wish I had done the surgery years ago. The physical therapy afterward was wonderful! The absolute worst!!!!!! This facility is good if you're independently wealthy, money is no object and you enjoy ordering off of no price menus. I wanted a second opinion re a knee replacement. I made an appointment at an In Network Facility with an In Network Doctor to seek to get a second opinion for confirmation of knee replacement At HSS. I had one appointment to overview simple knee X-rays. A second appointment to meet the surgeon. Fast forward 4 weeks, I get a bill for $800. I had an appointment with an in network facility in an in network doctor. How in the world can I have been sent an additional invoice for $800. I paid my copays and my health insurance pays the agreed to costs for services. Sure I need to cover my deductible but who knew the services I received, described above, would be at a charge of over $1,500. I would have no problem covering reasonable additional costs, but $800? 10/6/23 I leave a voicemail for the office to understand. No call back. 10/9/23 I send a Fed Ex letter to the office. In this letter I specifically asked if we could work to reduce the $800 and that I was now concerned for the price of the surgery. So I requested in writing a Personal and Specific Estimated Cost for my upcoming knee replacement. The Fed Ex letter was signed with confirmation of delivery and yet no communication from the office. 10/19 I call and was placed on a long hold, but I really needed to speak with an Office Mgr to find out what the heck is going on. She tells me that there's lots of conflicting communication within HSS, and to please e-mail her my questions. 10/20 I send the e-mail request. 10/24 a forwarded email was sent to me with zero answers to my personal request for cost of surgery and an then an offer to place me in a payment plan to pay the $800 balance. I don't need a payment plan. HSS should be charging fair and reasonable prices as an In Network provider and In Network facility. HSS is like going to a restaurant with a no price menu and ordering a grilled chicken caesar salad and getting a bill from the waiter for $800. Final answer - HSS, no prices published anywhere for typical and normal services rendered, affords them the privilege and economic gauging opportunity of setting their own prices at their own discretion. And their excuse? "You need to cover your deductible." HSS is an elite, arrogant set of health care operators who know how to take the greatest doctors known in their field and weaponize them against an innocent public that just wants to pay for honest services, under an honest health care system, which apparently no longer exists in this country. Seek Any other opportunities than HSS. Unless you're independently wealthy. That's their target market. read more

My family is in the Physical Therapy field and Dr Wang was highly recommended. I chose him for my hip replacement and am so glad I did. His expertise is phenomenal. The WPB HSS facility was superior. First class, with efficient and kind personnel.Too many to mention all, but Sandra the surgery scheduler was so helpful. Karen, the surgery coordinator with many hats was the best! Several years ago I broke my wrist, the physician was wonderful, at the end of the course of treatment I learned he was leaving the group and going to HSS. Approx 2 yrs , was when I experienced HSS..I was able to get an appointment quickly, since the Dr had previously seen me, even though it was another group. After that consult, it was recommended I see another Dr who specializes in the care needed..since then, I have seen a Dr for my knees. Who offered treatment to avoid replacement. And recently I developed carpal tunnel, the procedure was done under local at their facility. Every person, nurse, technician, PA, office staff and doctor have taken the time to answer every question, took the time to assure that at that moment I was their priority not just another patient. Wait time has always been minimal. Some say, won't you like one orthopedist for all your treatment.. answer no.. I have taken my mother there for several issues with different doctors. It's very professional and well run. Dr. Sama is outstanding. I went there for myself and saw Dr. Butler for a trigger finger. He also was excellent. He gave me a cortisone shot that resolved my problem. I had a cortisone shot elsewhere on a different finger years ago and had to have surgery. Both doctors explain fully and answer all questions. If you have a hand problem, make sure you see a doctor who is board certified in hand surgery like Dr. Butler. read more

They used the wrong anesthesia. I had to spend the night at Good Samaritan. What a nightmare. This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. They didn't do a metals test to see if titanium was a good fit for me. The non stop rashes are ignored and I'm told to go to a dermatologist so they can tell me I have a non specific atopic dermatitis. Go somewhere else. read more

I recently broke my ankle and needed surgery to repair it. The ER at Good Sam hospital hooked me up with the orthopedic team across the street at HSS. I had the outpatient surgery a few days ago at HSS and I just can't say enough good things about my experience there! The whole building looks brand new. Everything inside is open and clean and quiet. The Staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating, yet Professional: clearly not "Amateur Hour". I'm a health professional so I was very aware of how thorough everyone was with their documentation - they clearly are aiming for zero errors. The anaesthesia and surgery itself - if I dare use the term - was actually pleasant! In recovery the Staff hovered over me to make sure I was completely ok before they released me. It's now a few days postop and I am completely comfortable and have not had even a moment of significant pain. It's a great testament to the skills of the Surgeon, Dr. Sama, his Team and the Staff there at HSS. Highly recommend. read more
