The presentation you are being asked to attend is for a vacation membership. My family has owned…read morethis type of thing before and experienced great success with huge savings, so we were not completely against the idea. However, we were promised a complimentary 2 night stay in Niagara Falls, On just for attending. I have just received my certificate for the adventure only to find I must pay $210.00CAN upfront, in US funds to a California company who states $50US may be refunded - so no complimentary stay here. As for the product / presentation, I found the example costs for different get-a-ways were misrepresented, simply put, numbers on paper are nothing more than that. My husband and I were very interested, having had great cheap vacations with a membership similar to this one in the past. We even drove the 30 mins for a second meeting after asking for "proof" of the discounted costs for the type of travel we currently enjoy. Unfortunately, we were presented a sheet of paper typed with "Expedia costs being compared to "membership" costs. Not what I consider "proof" I asked to have these prices for the properties we requested pulled up on the computer through their "concierge service" but was told they could not. I proceeded to search Expedia on my cell phone and found each of the 3 Expedia cost examples that had been given to us were inflated. My searches showed Expedia prices were only a couple hundred dollars more then the membership prices. Ultimately, we were disappointed and did not purchase the membership, we really had hoped the staff could present "proof" of their large percentage discounts, as they stated. ** They claim to provide online access to a huge inventory but for some reason each time we asked for this, there was a reason it could not be done for our request. One comparison cost that was pulled up seemed too good to be true, so I asked "does this include airfare", "is this an all-inclusive cost" to which we were told, I don't know and no, sorry. ** On our second visit, an employee not there during our first visit recognized having some mutual friends with my husband. Not long in to our meeting she stated this membership was not for us. She actually made that exact statement 4 times in appx. 30 mins. Made me feel as if she didn't want to have ripped off someone who might know where to find her personally. ** The proof is in the fine print. I asked how many days before we would have access to the online system after we have paid our deposit and signed up, I was told 10 days. I then asked how many days do we have to cancel / change our minds and I was told 10 - coincidence, I think not. Buyer beware, it sounds awesome and if proof was provided rather than us expected to take the salespersons word, we would have purchased. Stacye - Bradford, On
