The first time, it was super spicy (so much so, that even my Indian dining partner was reaching for water and coughing). The second time we asked for medium spice, and it was barely spicy. Perhaps it was just an off night the first time-- my partner orders from them all the time and says the patatas bravas are the best he's had (and they're a favorite of his, so he's tried them many places.) Also tried their sangria, and it was tasty. The staff is very nice. If I had more time in Darmstadt, I'd definitely come back again.

Im Sommer fühlte es sich draußen an als wäre man wirklich in Peru. Der Pisco Sour ist der Hammer. Wir haben uns gut unterhalten und gegessen, später stellte sich heraus dass es ein Teil der Familie der Besitzer war. Beim zweiten Mal hatten wir unseren Schlemmerblock (Gutscheinheft) vergessen und sie haben uns das Angebot trotzdem gegeben unter der Voraussetzung dass wir ihn am nächsten Tag vorbei bringen. The food lacked the usual flavor key in Peruvian cosine - aji amarillo - equivalent to not having basil and tomatoes in italian food. The causas didn't taste right, lomo saltado was bland, and the ceviche was terrible. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt this one experience merits the extra effort. So let's check the boxes for the review: Service: - first impression was that there is a problem in communication between the owner and the ppl working there. We had a reservation, but since the final check was via phone it seemed they didn't get the name right. So my gf was first there and she told them the reservation on my name, they couldn't find it and I stead of helping they showed her the door. That's a no go. So I stormed in when I arrived and clarified it also with phone logs. So that wasn't a good start. - the restaurant was full and clearly they couldn't keep up with getting orders, serving drinks, serving food and cleaning. Let's say everything took more time than expected. I understand that maybe one more waiter is not in the budget but still they should read the room and see who waits how long. - when more friends arrived they were asked if they would eat something, but in a way that suggests them that it wouldn't be welcome if they want, they still did. Now to the interesting part, the thing we all go into restaurants. Food: - the meat was really good. They didn't really hit the desired cook level but still top meat and quite authentic (as much as you can replicate it here) - the dessert also way better than expected. And we were able to try something new they are trying. Amazing. - it wasn't out of this world but still one of the best in the price range. On the other hand: - the house wine was OK to drink, but that's kinda it. I mean sure they have other good wine but house wine shouldn't be the cheapest, it represents the restaurant. - we also found pisco sour, and as peruvian "experts" we were excited to try.
