This is a review of the office staff, particularly the lead receptionist--one of the rudest and…read moremost unprofessional staff members I have ever encountered. For two years, I have tried to schedule an appointment with my doctor, but every time I call, she abruptly tells me the earliest date is four to five months away. When I explained my urgent need, she became defensive, told me to find another doctor, and hung up--something she has also done to other patients. Her behavior has repeatedly prevented me from seeing my doctor, as she shows no willingness to accommodate earlier appointments. This receptionist not only lacks basic manners and empathy but also displays a combative attitude and poor interpersonal skills, making her unfit for a role requiring patient care and respect. I am not alone in this experience--multiple Yelp reviews report similar incidents. Below is a summary of eight reviewers' comments showing how this one receptionist has damaged the clinic's reputation in the East Bay community. Unfortunately I had to change my Doctor whom I liked very much. Here are some highlights from reviews posted on this Yelp page: Kenneth O. "Just spoke to staff that was completely rude unreasonable and unwilling to schedule my wife's appointment " " In all of my years as a Blue Shield patient have I been so disrespectfully treated" "Horrible customer service" Topden T., "Rude as others have reported before me, she immediately started scolding me. " "She blamed me for rescheduling appointments with Dr. Robinson." "hung up without trying to resolve the issue " "As others before me have warned: this place is shady, unsanitary, crowded, claustrophobic, and their interactions with new patients are based on lying and cheating." "one of the worst experiences with medical providers I've had in my life." "their interactions with new patients are based on lying and cheating" Xuxu A. "The billing clerk (Her name is May )is extremely rude and arrogant, she was yelling at me over the phone" "If you are a patient, please read my horrible experience. Don't waste your time and money on this place!!!!You will be treated poorly and rudely" "After that, endless mails and rude phone calls have never ended." "After this conversation, I understood where May's rudeness come from? When your doctor doesn't care about their patient, the quality of their job, how can a clerk care?" " So far, I didn't hear any apologies for their poor management and rude attitude. "What a drama and shady place! " Margaret c. I would clarify every time the type of visit and code you are getting from this shady office clerk. Jackson H "The conversation went exactly as other reviewers experienced - unprofessional, rude, combative. " "she has not felt more bullied and humiliated by a service provider" Jimpers N. "Astoundingly rude and ignorant receptionist" "Hung up on me as I was trying to figure out insurance information. Hung up again on my insurance provider as they were trying to communicate" H Takehiro S. "horrible, horrible, horrible" Cassey H. "The office deserve zero stars. Very inefficient, rude and stupid receptionist" "This scum of a receptionist suddenly said this wasn't working out and abruptly hung up on my face! " " That stupid receptionist has no customer service skills and who is she to decide the call is not working out?! she is suppose to help and figure things out not hang up! I don't know how scum like her keep their job having 0 customer service skills!"

Came here recently due to an issue I was experiencing with my ears. I had called in originally to…read moresee if they were able to fit me in for a last min appointment, and thankfully they had a physician's assistant who was able to see me the next day. I had changed insurance due to a recent job change, so I was a bit apprehensive going to a different health care professional from my former primary care physician. But thankfully the process was pretty smooth. After having completed the extensive line of questioning posed to me during the initial phone appointment, they gave me a few pages to read and sign when I first arrived and I was good to go in fairly short order. They have a security guard in the front who asks you the standard COVID questions and has you use hand sanitizer, but I was a bit surprised there were not acrylic barriers protecting the receptionists and nurses behind the desk from incoming patients. Everyone I encountered during my visit was very friendly, and the PA took his time to listen to my concerns and addressed them accordingly. Parking is readily available for free in the lot outside. And overall the area felt pretty safe, clean, and spacious.

I had a new patient appointment with Dr. Wallace at this clinic. San Pablo Rd (the main road…read moreleading to this clinic) was closed in one direction for over 10 min. so I was stuck. I called the Sutter number listed for this location from my car to let them know what was happening and they told me they'll let the office know and no problem. Sutter has a 15-min late policy which allows them to cancel your appointment if you're late. I walked in 14 minutes into my appointment time. After checking in and waiting to see the doctor, I was told that Dr.Wallace decided to cancel my appointment. I was shocked! I asked to speak to Dr. Wallace, but I was told she needed to leave early that day and was filling out paperwork. I waited to speak to the clinic manager and complained that my appointment should not be cancelled because a doctor wants to leave early on a Friday afternoon and that I was not technically late. She explained that I was late, because the checking in process took about 2-3 minutes. I had a time sensitive medical reason why I needed to see a PCP and waited weeks for that appointment. I was crying uncontrollably in the lobby and requested again to just speak to the doctor briefly, but she refused and did not care. It is a terrible feeling to deal with a medical problem and feel that no one is willing to help you. I cannot imagine that a doctor who treats any of her patients in this careless way can be an effective or empathetic caretaker. Obviously this clinic is pretty bad also from all the 1-star reviews.

Found Dr. Fang's office through my network's provider search, but was a bit hesitant due to some of the negative Yelp reviews. Dr. Fang's office however was very close to where I live. And located right outside El Cerrito Plaza, just past JoAnn's, free parking is readily available in the plaza, and I just had to walk over. As it turned out, my concern was baseless, as Dr Fang was not only extremely kind, but listened and addressed all of my concerns, made recommendations and gave treatment options that I felt comfortable with, and left me feeling much more educated about my body in general. In fact, far more than my previous dermatologist, or any of my prior primary care physicians ever did, combined, regarding the same issues. So ecstatic that I was able to find such a great dermatologist nearby. And one whom I plan to continue seeing for as long as I live here!

She is a wonderful and knowledgable doctor. She is always helpful and I really appreciate her calm bedside manner. She has even treated my son with patience, care and understanding of his skin issues. When I came in to the office for my appointment, there was a man behind the desk (whom I've never seen before) announcing loudly for all to hear that he is the "office manager" and spoke to the other receptionists and other patients, including elderly patients with a very rude and condescending tone! Then I called the office a month later regarding my insurance and my routine appointment. I had a question regarding treatment and I recognized the same voice that I heard when I came in for my appointment. He unfortunately was the same rude and condescending person and then he became accusatory with me over the phone. He was saying that I was asking him to change my chart, commit fraud and that I would cause my doctors' license to be revoked. AND she wouldn't be able to practice medicine! He said it again even more aggressively than the first time. WHAT?! Who says that?! Umm... I had a question about my treatment and the description of the code claims according to my visit. Including my co-pay there was an expensive $195 add-on to my invoice by the office and I didn't know what it meant. I was told to call the office for clarification by my provider and the billing department of Golden State Dermatology. I didn't think a basic conversation would turn into a hostile one, causing me to feel upset for asking legitimate questions, which is part of his job, being an "office manager." I mentioned I would try and reach out to the doctor, when he became even more defensive. I have never in my life, been spoken to in that manner by a professional doctor's office. I was in tears when I called the billing department for the third time. After almost 2 hours of dealing with this mess, they were really helpful, listened and answered all of my questions. Thank goodness! I'm having serious thoughts of moving on to a new doctor. I don't want to engage with an "office manager" that treats his fellow employees with self-entitlement and disrespecting patients by belittling them publicly or by phone.

I generally dislike leaving negative reviews and have waited about three months to write this, as I…read morewanted to see if a different approach would prove my intuition correct. I wish I would have read her other reviews, I wound't have gone with her. My experience with Dr. Nett was frustrating. Despite her claims of expertise in gut health, she seemed unable to interpret a basic GI Map. While she mentioned working with a different testing company, the two most popular gut tests on the market provide essentially the same data, yet she struggled to translate the results into a functional plan. What was most disappointing was the lack of understanding regarding the systemic manifestations of gut dysbiosis and leaky gut. I presented with well-documented systemic issues--including chronic fatigue, flu-like symptoms, and muscle pain. When I described these, she didn't seem to grasp the connection or understand the symptoms. Furthermore, when I specifically asked to work on my gut, she dismissed the idea because I wasn't experiencing localized "classic" GI symptoms like bloating or floating stools. She attempted to pivot my treatment toward mycotoxins and vagus nerve exercises. This was wild goose chase that ignored the foundational issues I talked about. I eventually sought a second opinion, finished a basic 5-R protocol with another doctor, and am now back to feeling fine. I cannot recommend Dr. Nett for those dealing with autoimmune or systemic gut-related issues. She may be helpful in other areas, but for complex gut-to-systemic health, her approach did not meet the basic clinical standard I expected.

It was really difficult for me to decide to write this review because I really enjoyed my initial…read morevisit with Amy when she was at CCFM. The administrative process was very clear, the mention of tests to take to evaluate my situation seemed robust, and I really thought I would receive the help I need. When she transferred to her own clinic, I was asked to schedule an initial consult again to receive my test results. What was unclear was that this was an in-person meeting, unlike the initial consult at CCFM. The only place this was specified was in the calendar invitation, and it was not verified until 2 days before the appointment. Upon hearing there was no flexibility to meet virtually, I was then told that I had to pay a cancelation fee, even though I messaged 2 days before the appointment time. When I mentioned that I was unable to wait another month or so to receive my results due to current health concerns, I was told I should schedule in the system, and when I do, I would be subject to a $50 cancelation fee. This floored me. The process was clearly not ironed out, I acknowledged my confusion, but there was absolutely no flexibility or concern for my care. I've been told that functional medicine is expensive, experimental in some ways, but it wasn't until this moment that I realized this is not patient-oriented care, it's revenue-oriented care. I've worked in client services all my life, and I would never turn away a patient or client who needed care, and I'd always do what I could to meet their needs. Amy's office agreed to release my records, but it's been an awkward back and forth because even that documentation is confusing, and I've met with some hostile messages. After thousands of dollars in tests, I'm walking away with more questions and concerns than ever.
