Once again, the door had issues with closing properly. There were black burn marks on the shower curtain, there was a smell so bad that I needed to buy air fresheners and candles. The towels and linen had stains and looked dirty. I had to go to the Dollar General behind the hotel to buy towels and wash clothes. Day 3 of our stay, we spotted a roach and had to move our bags to the car for the remainder of the stay. Unfortunately, that was not the only roach we saw during our stay. When we told the front desk, the lady shrugged and looked bored as if to say Not my problem. On our last night, their someone in the room above us blasting music for hours, it didn't stop until 4 in the morning. Once again, when we brought it to the front desk's attention, we were ignored. This was truly a horrible experience.

If I could post zero stars, I would. On July 1, 2023, I made a reservation via the Wyndham…read morecorporate site for a 1 king bed room at Super8 South Boston for August 24-27. The reservation was confirmed. On August 24, approximately 45 minutes prior to my arrival in South Boston, I received a call from the hotel. I was told that my reservation would not be honored because the hotel was overbooked for the evening. I asked what the hotel would be doing for me to procure a room at an acceptable alternative hotel (in such situations, it's customary for a hotel to "walk" the customer to a new hotel, paying any difference in price). I was told that the hotel would not be doing anything on my behalf. Later that night, after I managed to find a (significantly more expensive) room at a hotel in a nearby town, I received an e-mail from Super8 South Boston, notifying me of the cancellation of my reservation, and blaming it on an inability to process my credit card (actual text: "In order to qualify for the advance purchase discount, you must provide a valid credit card that can be charged for the entire stay at the time of purchase. I would be happy to reactivate the reservation if you would contact me with another credit card within the next 48 hours."). Note that, when I made the reservation via the Wyndham site, a valid credit card was required. Further, checking with my credit card company indicated that no charge was attempted by Super8 South Boston. In short, it appears the folks at Super8 South Boston lied on the e-mail in order to divert blame for the cancelled reservation from themselves. Abysmal customer service.

I really honestly hate to do this because the people there are absolutely phenomenal. They are so…read morepositive. They are so helpful. They are kind and they are absolutely wonderful. However, the room itself I do not believe was properly cleaned. We open the drawer, and there were some old open Doritos, as well as some children's gloves. There was dirt on the wall by the trashcan. The windows were disgusting. The shower caulking is all brown and some of the tile and trimming is falling off there's scrapes and bumps in the wall that look like they need to be repaired. The bed looked very clean. It felt very comfortable and we were there for a karate tournament so we did not bother to complain about it all we didn't plan on using all that other stuff. The breakfast was great. We do not eat pork so I wish there would've been some non-pork meat but the lady that works at in the morning is absolutely fabulous. She's so friendly. She's on top of her game. She's always refilling things asking how she can help making conversation with you. There's toast, bagels, butter, cream, cheese, cereal, gravy, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, coffee, like six types of teas three different juices, cold and hot water a toaster probably more oh and muffins it really was a great breakfast. But probably the best part about it is how friendly the lady is that runs it and how dedicated to her job.

Our family booked the Clarion Pointe South Boston for a large family reunion, with relatives…read moretraveling from Baltimore, Washington State, Philadelphia, and South Carolina. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a special trip quickly turned into a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, the property appeared poorly maintained. There were large bugs in the lobby, no air conditioning, a filthy pool area with a rat trap, and staff who were not dressed professionally. But the rooms were by far the worst part. MOLD. MILDEW. RUST. BUGS. HORRIBLE ODORS. We found mold in multiple rooms, including around tubs and showers and outside room doors. The smell of mildew was overwhelming, and some carpets felt damp and sticky. We were literally moved from room to room trying to find accommodations with "less mold." One of the most disturbing comments came from the manager, who told me my room only had "a little mold, not a lot." There should be ZERO mold in a hotel room. This was especially concerning because our group included a cancer survivor and children with asthma. Several of the children experienced coughing and wheezing at night and needed nebulizer treatments. We had to purchase our own bleach, Lysol, and cleaning supplies just to make the rooms somewhat tolerable. The ice machine was dispensing ice with visible dirt particles. An exterminator sprayed the lobby while guests were still present. Staff were spraying Fabuloso on the carpet to address the horrible smell, which only seemed to add more moisture to already damp carpet. We also witnessed extremely unprofessional behavior from staff, including a cleaning employee smoking inside a guest room. Management's response was just as disappointing as the condition of the hotel. Instead of taking responsibility, we were initially offered only 10% off at a nearby bar. We were eventually told we would receive our money back, but when we left, the new acting manager said he was unaware of that agreement and that we should wait for an email. This was not a minor inconvenience. This was a serious cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service failure. Do NOT be fooled by the pictures online. Our experience was completely different from what was advertised. We traveled from multiple states for a family reunion and deserved a clean, safe, and comfortable place to stay. Instead, we spent our trip dealing with mold, mildew, bugs, poor sanitation, and dismissive management. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you would like to see videos and photos please let me know. I am creating a Tik tok and instagram to expose this place. As they refuse to give us nothing back
