I think this office's booking practice for a consultation for a tooth implant is sneaky.I had a back tooth pulled at this office without complications. I thought I would get an implant and the office put in for the paperwork for the implant. I didn't realize that there would be an additional charge for an implant consultation on top of what the insurance company was paying. Yes, I signed lots of papers without reading each one in detail. I now cancelled my implant date because I viewed this practice as being unprofessional. I called the office and told them that the workers should be more patient centered They even checked with my insurance company before booking the consultation. This to me in sneaky.I feel "duped" for not asking if the consultation would be an extra fee.I feel hurt and embarrassed. and won't go back. I advise others to verbally ask questions about cost and get it in writing. I am concerned that if I went back for the implant, the office would find more charges that Stanis did not cover. read more

I had a severe toothache, couldn't eat or sleep, couldn't see straight. They bent over backwards to get me in ASAP and to get my insurance approved. Got right in and out with no pain or discomfort. The doctor was extremely personable while I was there, then he called me after hours on a Sunday to see how I was doing. Definitely recommend, it was by far the best dental experience I've ever had. read more

I had wisdom teeth on the top I needed out because they were causing me all this pressure and pain, also causing my teeth to shift. They couldn't get me in for weeks even though it's a 30 min procedure. I kept calling to see if there was a cancelation so they can move me up but nothing. Finally date arrives and I go in but the girl I talked to sounded a little annoyed I was even there and was even a little rude when handling me in the chair. (Putting on bib napkin, iv, etc) nothing was being explained as it was happening which bothered me bc I've worked in healthcare and with handling patients. Especially when they Velcro restrained my arm and put in my iv without even giving me a heads up. And the whole facility needs a renovation. Won't be going back. read more

I went for a consultation with Dr. Wiston about an extraction and socket preservation in preparation for an implant. At the time I did not have insurance so I paid out of pocket $225 which I was told would be applied to my bill of the future work. Over the month I obtained insurance through my wife's new job. I called and the office told me that they accepted Cigna and they would send a predetermination. They did not tell me that he was out of network and does not have a contract with Cigna. They also told me that my $225 was lost. I knew that I would not be totally covered so I wondered why the money could not be applied to my share of the cost. Meanwhile Cigna told me to switch to Dr. Payami in the same office who is also very highly rated and under contract. The costs were significantly less with a savings of roughly $500 to me. I tried to do this but I expressed that I was not happy about losing my money and not being told that their other doctor was in network. They refused to let me make an appointment with the other doctor and the front office was very rude. I'm disputing the charge because I did not receive services past a office consultation. Unfortunately, I wanted to go to the other doctor but now I can't because I expressed my dissatisfaction. read more

My wife was referred to Dr Payami for a specific oral surgery issue that had nothing to do with her teeth. After an hour wait my wife was told that she needed an X-ray of her teeth. My wife explained that she had just been to her regular dentist (hence the referral) and had the X-rays there. She explained that the insurance will not pay for another set so soon. Obviously the dentists know this but seemed to not care who pays for the X-rays just as long as they get paid. The nurse went to discuss with Dr. Payami. His exact response was "If she doesn't want the X-rays then she can go elsewhere." My wife was left with either pay for the X-rays out of pocket or leave. She left. When my wife left they escorted her out the back door. Obviously they realized how poorly they were treating her and didn't want to take the chance of any other client in the lobby hearing of her experience. The appointment had nothing to do with her teeth. Dr payami seems to only care about money and not his patients. He wouldn't even see her to decide any course of action. I can't imagine the type of arrogance and indifference that you would need to treat people like this. read more

Had a problem molar, my primary dentist suggested it should come out and referred me to Dr. Winston. I remember visiting him several years ago at the Spring Valley location. Was happy to learn that he now had a Newburgh location. Called for an appointment. With little information from me the staff was able to find my prior record/hisory immediately and set me up with an appointment for the next business day. I arrived at the office and was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the high tech equipment used. Dr. Winston assessed the problem and agreed the molar should come out. I was anesthetized and the next thing I knew I was walking out of the office feeling no discomfort. Not sure what the issue was with the other reviewers, but I could not DISAGREE more. My experience was great! And followed up with a call after hours to make sure I was ok. Nice touch that more healthcare providers should employ. I'm taking the time to write this review because of the excellence of this company and its employees. I've honestly not had a good experience the last several years with oral surgery or dentistry in general. I've had a nagging wisdom tooth remaining that has caused me a lot of pain, swelling, and misery the last 2 years. Two other oral surgeons would not touch the tooth sayings it's on a nerve. The tooth finally caused me to have severe pain and caused and infection destroying the tooth in front of it. I was referred to this company by my general dentist. I went in feeling completely miserable with 9/10 and needing strong medications to keep it under control at this point. The front desk staff was excellent and efficient. Dr. Payami introduced himself and his staff. They were all very friendly and reassuring. Dr. Payami presents as a very calm, professional, and friendly practitioner. He assured me he could help me and went over everything he would be doing, and letting me ask all the questions I had in the process. He recommended the best course of action was carefully removing the wisdom tooth and damaged tooth in front of it. I was anxious and honestly afraid of doing so with what I've heard previously about temporary or even permanent numbness risk that was involved. Dr. Payami was confident that he could successfully help me and end my misery with this. We agreed to sedation with the pain and anxiety I was experiencing, and was made very comfortable and put out. I awoke feeling completely different having great relief of pain. After discharge I've experienced almost zero pain or swelling. The best part is I don't have an ounce of numbness. I feel like I've had a world of relief wash over me and I owe it all to Dr. Payami and his staff. This was by far the best dental/medical experience I've ever had. I've been through so much with this tooth and pain and feel like it was completely rectified by this great company. When others couldn't help me Dr. Payami and his staff confidently delivered on their ability to take care of my issue. My hat is off to Dr. Payami and his staff. I couldn't ask for a better experience in dealing with something that has been so difficult for me. A+ and five stars to this outstanding company. A true credit and blessing to this community.
