I was kicked out of the school without warning or any further investigation or meeting because of a small arguement that happened with an employee at the externship site. The employee literally would not stop following me and getting all in my face. However, the administrator did not care. She kicked of the school, took the states money for my enrollment and left me without any grades or transcripts to try to go to another school. Seriously WOULD NOT recommend this school.

I'm not sure when the pool was built but in the early 1970s sounds like from what I was told there, making it a full decade newer than I presumed based on the architecture. But what architecture it is! That façade--you just don't get public architecture for mundane things like parks and rec very often anymore. Despite the mid-century modern understatement, it still has something to say and I wish we'd see more of that today. People have commented on the restrooms/locker rooms. Personally, I was not bothered that the men's locker room was showing its age. It still worked fine. What surprised me was the individual shower stalls instead of a gang shower given its date of construction. And I think the whole men's locker room likely is original and without major updates beyond minor fixtures like soap dispensers. For a public facility at this time of construction to have individual stalls would have been considered a bit of luxury. The current state of the mens' locker room is no worse than many pools I've been to for diving and better than the much newer Cecil Aquatic Center in Jacksonville. The dive well: There's a 1m and a 3m board, which is nice. Both are older but in fine shape. The dive well itself is 14ft but tapers off away from the boards to around 6ft. It's safe, but trying to get a dive a good ways out I was concerned by how it looked from the 3m I'd hit bottom but didn't. It's just a visual illusion and I'm used to pools 16ft deep in their dive wells, too. The dive well is located centerline in the pool between swim lanes, which is cool. All the lifeguards and staff I spoke with were awesome and endured my nerdy questions about the history of their facility. Besides open swim, they have a great program seems of water polo, artistic swimming, and other things going on keeping the facility busy. Overall, I highly recommend!

When my previous gym closed, I was devastated, but one of my coaches recommended I check out Aalon Cruz's new gym, and boy am I glad I did. A concern I've always had with a lot of the top schools in the Tampa area is that their focus is narrowed. There are plenty of great jiu jitsu schools in Tampa, but their striking classes tend to be limited. There's also a few good striking academys, but their grappling programs tend to feel like an afterthought. At Tribe there is literally at least one striking and one jiu jitsu class every day. It's the perfect balance if you're someone like me looking to cross train. And if you have MMA aspirations it's the perfect place to develop a well rounded skillset. Tribe is also extremely beginner friendly, and I've seen my fellow teammates progress from absolute beginners into competent grapplers and strikers in an incredibly short amount of time. I myself had limited grappling coming into Tribe but Coach Aalon and Coach Austin not only got me moving with jiu jitsu quickly, but in a short time have really imparted to me a newfound love of the sport But the thing that really makes Tribe special is coach Aalon Cruz. A UFC / Belator veteran, he brings a depth of knowledge in the martial arts that ensures you learn something every class. But beyond just the teaching, he really goes far above and beyond for his athletes. Whether its jumping in to hold pads if we have an odd number of students, rolling with you in jiu jitsu and putting you in the exact positions you need to hardwire the skills you're learning, or putting himself on the line in sparring rounds to ensure everyone gets quality work in, he goes the distance to make sure his students are getting as much value as they can out of the program. On top of this, he puts together events almost every month that have really helped build this gym into a community. If you're looking for a place to start or continue your martial arts journey, Tribe is it.

Each camp had a different theme and kids could sign up for the one they liked. -Covered riding area. Rain or shine, the kids could ride. -Kona Ice day. The truck came out and the kids could purchase a treat halfway thru the week. -End of the week presentation. Parents were invited to a Friday performance that showed off what their kids had learned. So why not five stars? Mainly because of the lack of communication. Leading up to the start of camp, the only information we had was from the sheet we filled out months before to reserve our spot. An introductory email would be incredible. Also, the paper handed out to parents about the presentation had the wrong time on. I was only able to confirm the actual time because we attended with a good friend who had the owner's phone number. Tightening up the communication would take Suncoast's Summer Camps from being amazing to perfect!
