It was definitely unlike any massage I've had; everything hurt in the most positive and progressive way possible. Additionally, he gave me a tutorial on everything he was doing, the names of muscles and ligaments and how they're fighting each other, as well as very helpful suggestions regarding what to do on my own to build on the progress we made in the session. I wish I had the option to give Dave more stars!…read more I pulled my left hamstring about a week ago and I was doing everything I could think of to try and make it better - foam rolling, heat, ice, stretching, strengthening - and it was only getting worse. So a friend recommended I go and see Dave. Thankfully, I was able to get a same day appointment. This was my first ever massage and I went into it being skeptical that it would work. Had anyone told me Dave could fix a week long issue I created for myself in one 30 minute session, I would have bet the farm against it and lost everything. When I met Dave for my appointment and explained the issues I was having with my hamstring, he told me my left hamstring isn't the problem. My right quad is causing the issues I am having with my left hamstring. I almost said the words "you're nuts" out loud. Dave explained how the body is a system of pulley's and my right quad controls my left hamstring. Once he got to work on loosening my right quad, glute, hip and hamstring, my left hamstring felt 75% better! I was in complete amazement. Dave told me I would be able to run later on that evening and would be nearly perfect by the next morning. By the time I left his office, my right leg felt like it could run a marathon and my left, while just still a bit achy in the one spot I dug at repeatedly, felt like it could give me a half marathon. As Dave predicted, I woke up this morning felling 95% better in my left leg! I had the slightest lingering ache in the spot I dug into with my foam roller - I really did a number on it! I wearily got dressed and went for a 7 mile run and didn't feel an ounce of discomfort! I could have ran to Dave's office and hugged him! I am no longer a skeptic and have already requested my next appointment for next week. I HIGHLY recommend you go and see Dave at your earliest convenience. You will not regret it and your muscles will thank you for it. I know mine are super thankful this morning!
