We get to an impasse where we can't finish my taxes because they're just a bit more complicated than a basic 1040 form and his father, the actual CPA, is unavailable. I made an appointment with a CPA because I knew I needed one. I did not get one here. I left with my taxes unfinished and a business card and was told to make another appointment when I was ready to complete my taxes (without a CPA as I understood it). Needless to say, I did not return. Why would anyone want to pay to have their taxes done by a person with no tax experience or certification? I could do that myself on Turbo Tax with probably better results.

A less honest CPA could have charged me all kinds of fees without me even knowing it, since I'm not a tax expert. I also love the Highs gas station nearby, but that's another story. :) They are great for quick and easy tax preparation, financial consulting, IRAs, 401K rollovers, etc... I can handle doctors, dentists, needles and even surgery, but financial advisors give me the willies. However, CFP and especially Julie, made me feel so much better and I finally feel as if I'm in control. It's really worth making an appointment and just get in there and talk to them! I can sleep better tonight knowing they are helping.
