My experience with this firm was ever PAINFUL! In over a year of working on my divorce, not once was I able to meet Mr. Hughes in person. Not even certain he resides in Sacramento, but just my opinion. Slow to respond and made communication very exhausting. If you think these folks are interested in resolving your case ... think again. My solution forward after bleeding out financially was hire a mediator, who actually got the divorce finalized in three sessions and less than $5,000! If I could give zero stars I would. Every bad thing you hear about divorce and divorce attorney came true using this group. The amount of money I gave them for nothing in return is sickening. We spent 30 minutes reviewing the details of my case every time we spoke. They proved time and time again that lawyers only want to drag things out to get the most out of their clients. They worked without my approval and I was charged well over a thousand dollars before I even had a chance to stop them. And I was obviously charged for their unauthorized time. I hoped I would have an attorney that was on my side, fighting for me, but they conceded at every opportunity and basically said this is how they all typically go. Honestly I bet if you happen to get lucky, and by chance actually cares about your case then maybe he would be ok but he certainly didn't about mine. One time I spent over an hour on the phone with him just to not hear back for 4-5 weeks then when I did I had to go back over everything because he literally didn't even remember what we had spoke about the previous time. I not once felt like I had someone on my side. Absolutely the worst service I have ever received by anyone that has taken money from me. Hughes law group grossly overcharged me in my divorce case. I came to them in my darkest day for assistance in dissolution of my marriage. After 11 months and $59,000 I still sat in the same place. No spousal support. No child support. No access to my joint checking accounts, joint investment accounts, joint business accounts. Nothing. They charged me paralegal rates for secretarial work. The only saving grace was the fee arbitrator who agreed that I did not need to pay the additional $12,000 they kept billing me. I highly discourage any one from using this law firm. Very unprofessionally transferred my client file to substituting attorney with no organization and my new attorney had to pay a courier service to copy and transfer file as they would not take the time to do it and I had an upcoming hearing the next day. read more

I wish yelp had negative stars, this firm doesn't deserve a 1 Star. BEWARE!This firm is horrible!!!Absolutely money hungry and no job is done. The wife loves to send the emails for money and act all nasty. It's her husband NOT doing his job!! I had two offers come over from opposing. I spent money on phones calls and emails being read, for a billing fee by Marc, for this offer to decline. The offer came back again in May and I was asked to read it and it said in the email this was a second time of sending over(from opposing). So more phone calls and emails sent and nothing was ever done the second time. They accused me of asking for services to be done but me not paying them more money!! How about doing what they were suppose to that I DID PAY FOR! Responding to the two offers that I paid money for to be answered. Then opposing had sent paperwork to Marc Hughes for court in October. I had been asking for months about this, because of nasty texts opposing was was sending months before, referring to October all the time. March from Hughes Law Group said they didn't receive it because it was sent to their old business address from 6 years ago!!?? (I have emails to prove that's what exactly he said). Seriously!!You're a law firm!!! It took a new paralegal to make one quick phone call from her connection to find that info out that there were in fact two court dates for Oct. So, more of my money needed and spent, for their error, of not giving the courts the proper address, and I couldn't go to court, I was out of state for ill parents. That's just some of the lack of skills of this place. I obtained new council. I got my file from Hughes Law Group, not all letters and communication/correspondence were in it. I had to add by making copies of those items and get them added to it. The offers mailed and emailed and so forth, yup, missing. Big parts of this divorce, missing from my file. Disgusting!!!! I also found out that two items were sent from opposing and were suppose to be presented to me to make a cand I never even heard a peep on that. I was being kept on the hook to take money from and to be forced into a court date for them to make another $10,000!! This guy is GREAT at taking money and being nasty on emails, along with his wife. So, if you like to spend money and get a horrible lack of help in your divorce, this is the guy! They are the bad apple that spoiled the whole bunch. The cliche of attorneys are out for money!
