Dr. DeCastro is a gem--smart, caring, and willing to spend the time it takes to listen to you and search for answers to problems that aren't immediately apparent. Although she is very much Western and academic in her approach, she doesn't dismiss the benefits of alternative medical therapies, assuming there is research to support them. Very glad to have found her.

She doesn't take any insurance, so she doesn't have to treble her prices to handle the ridiculous coding and systems put in place by bean counters - where most of your money seems to go to the bean counters, not care. This is a very different type of practice, I suppose you can call it concierge care. The quality, and personalization of the care really reminded me of Europe. You just pay a small fee quarterly - far less than any insurance. This covers how ever many visits and in office procedures that you need. There's no messing around with what is and isn't covered, no games with deductibles - simple no bullshit. How many people avoid US doctors, because of the financial and mental health damage that visiting a US practice can cause? This completely solves the problem and is far more affordable than the normal US way of getting care. Most health needs can and should be addressed by a GP, and with a system like this - it encourages you to visit your GP. She is focused on keeping you healthy - not prescribing the most expensive things she can find. Aside from the ease of this form of practice, she is an extremely good doctor with a highly competent staff. Especial kudos for identifying the onset of shingles BEFORE the rash appeared - getting me on pills that early saved me weeks of agony. It was really easy to make appointments, even on the same day when I needed it. I'm leaving the area, and by far my biggest regret is losing such wonderful medical care. Brilliant. Refreshing. Take your whole family down there and enrol. She limits the number of patients in her system to keep the quality high - so hurry ;-)

Because she had not checked the messages my husband was put down as a no show and is "not allowed" to make another appointment at this office ever. We were informed by Christy that we could have easily borrowed the $260.00 over the weekend to pay for this appointment. That is absurd and extremely unprofessional. I suppose if we had asked her to borrow it she would have graciously lent it, since she acts like $260.00 is chump change. Do NOT give this sorry excuse of a business your money. They act like they are better than anyone trying to enroll in their programs. Greed is what runs this practice.

He's an awesome doctor…read more I've seen my share of Doctors and some of them will listen to your symptoms and give you a pill for each and every one of them without looking for the root of the problem. Not Dr. Giove.. Every time I've been in his office he's listened to what I've had to say, performed some tests to determine what the true cause is and then tells me what I need to take / do to remedy the problem. If you're paying out of pocket he's extremely understanding, and will go through the prescriptions and let you know which ones are critical and which are for which symptoms. E.G.: "This one's for nausea, and this one's the antibiotic that has the side effect of nausea, So, if you can handle the nausea or don't get the side effect you can probably do without the first one" Just. Freaking. Awesome!
