This place has a play space called the "backyard", which is fantastic. It is big enough for the kids to have fun, not much in the way of sketchy things where the kids can get hurt, and not too big that you lose your kid and lose your mind trying to find them. I also feel that the parents here are good at keeping an eye on their kids and there aren't any kids that are too old, rampaging around knocking the little ones over. There is also a golf pro shop and a simple restaurant, too. It is a good spot for an afternoon play date with the kids and some parents, then head to the restaurant and stuff the kids, and then off home for bath and bedtime.

There are plenty of walking trails! There is a cute bridge that crosses over the creek! There are also trails that walk next to the creek. Very peaceful and you totally forget you are in the suburbs! The playground equipment is well taken care of and no sand or wood chips! It's all rubber on the ground. There are plenty of activities to keep your kiddos entertained. There is also a basketball court, volleyball court, 3 pavilions, an open field and indoor bathrooms. If those are locked, there are porta potties. There is also a small garden with benches. Overall this is a quality park! One definitely worth visiting!

Was in the area as we are in the market to buy a home, and any home we buy needs to be close by to…read morea public park! So before my scheduled tour time, I came here to scope it out. The road up to this park (Asher) is a bit steep, but not too long. I noticed some tennis and basketball courts on the way in. The parking lot is a bit small (not many spots) if you needed to drive there, but perhaps this park doesn't get a lot of visitors. It was pretty quiet while I was there, which is nice. There's a play structure for the kids close to the parking lot, and further beyond a rudimentary baseball diamond. Personally, I was there to hike around. There was a map that showed the many trails available. All of them are unpaved and very winding, and I couldn't actually find them under all the snowpack. So I just kind of wandered the landscape and enjoyed the trees and lake for an hour. Nothing too strenuous, but there was some change in elevation. No formalized bathroom facilities that I saw, but they had a port-a-potty with hand sanitizer in it, so that was plenty sufficient for my needs.

Additionally, there have the cutest tree nursery where you can do so much fun stuff. They also have state-of-the-art biking trails! Though I haven't been on them for biking, my sneak peek was enough to make me vow to do it next time! Plenty of parking space too! Only downside to this park is there are no kid-friendly toilets. There's only one porta-potty which leaves a lot to be desired. Otherwise, great experiences all-around!

Dropped by for the Eagan Market Fest at the Eagan Community Center (select Wednesdays), but I was a…read morebit early for doors so I decided to go exploring the surrounding park grounds. It's not much in the way of hiking, as the longest path/loop is only a mile long and fully paved with asphalt, but it's got a lot of amenities that would make for an excellent visit during warmer months. This includes a kid's playground, an extensive fitness zone, a splash pad (with toilets and water fountain-- not operating during winter), a bandshell, and a sizable festival grounds. On the other end of the park (near Pilot Knob) there's a gazebo structure with more seasonal restrooms/water fountain, with a multitude of picnic tables, trash/recycling, and grills that would be excellent for outdoor get-togethers. There is parking at both this location and by the splash pad, as well as the massive lot attached to the community center. There's a couple small lakes and plenty of trees, so it's a nice little retreat (even if right across the street is a massive outdoor shopping center...).

Now, they like to work out at the Core Valley area (we call it Ninja Warrior Park), while I walk the lovely trails around the pond area. The band shell has some free performances sometimes. My fav feature is the cute gazebo and bridge next to the pond. A very well thought out park for so many uses, including art fairs, food truck fairs, a weekly farmer's market and even a huge July 4th celebration. The Eagan Community Center building is conveniently located the middle of the park.
