The D.A. polished my teeth with a flavored mint on top and a flavored Cherry polish on my bottom teeth. What nice treat? The polish was not too gritty either. She also flossed my teeth and really got in between them. Such a nice feeling! I have not had someone floss my teeth like that before! They offer a free Dental Kit for their Patients. Had a root canal done and then went in for a check up when I was experiencing pain and teeth shifting. My dentist, Dr Saheb (she was kind, and I should've waiting till she was back) was out that day, so I saw Dr Al-Gaissi instead. He was extremely condescending, cold, and rude. I have never been so disrespected by a health professional in my life. He completely dismissed my pain - cut me off to tell me "you'd be screaming if it hurt," when using air to check for sensitivity. Told me I had "horrible" build up and that I was past due for cleaning (I had gotten my teeth deep cleaned the week before). And asked no additional questions, really driving home his complete apathy for my situation. I could tell even the dental hygienist was shocked at his behavior, because while he left me in tears - she provided more comfort and advice for if the pain persisted. She was the best part of my multi-appointment experience. I do not recommend this office to anyone. While they were quick to get me in - I wish I had gotten care elsewhere. read more

I do not understand how this place is so highly rated. Went in for a cleaning yesterday, after taking forever with my x-rays, Dr. Al-Gaissi came in a did his exam which was one of the most painful dental exams I've had. He measured almost half my teeth at 5mm and told me I had bone loss. which I was shocked by - I've always had bad gums, but have never been told it was that bad. They showed me X-rays that I didn't understand and were not very clear in explaining it. It was all super rushed. To make it worse, he became very rude about it all and I felt very shamed about the state of my teeth. I know they were not in great shape but the way I was spoken to was condescending. Then, the office manager came in a showed me it would be almost $600 for the deep clean they were recommending. When I said it was too much and asked if they could just do a regular cleaning a dental hygienist told me it wouldn't do me any good and they refused to do it. They were extremely pushy about doing the deep cleaning same day. The appointment at this point had been an hour without a cleaning so I was able to get out of it by scheduling it for the end of the week. I just had a bad feeling about it all so I was thankfully able to get in for a second opinion at another dentist. At this appointment, none of my teeth were at 5mm, no regression, absolutely no bone loss and they caught a cavity that this dentist missed. It was inflamed which I expected as I do have bad gums. I was able to get an upgraded gingivitis cleaning, an exam, paid for new X-rays out of pocket, got my cavity filled, and an antibacterial wash for $250 - almost half of what I was quoted for one deep cleaning at Hulen modern dentistry. TLDR: Do not waste your time or money here. Especially if you have sensitive gums because they'll likely tell you that you have conditions you don't have. Cash hungry and rude doctor. read more

I am no fan of going to the dentist but Dr Algaissi has been my dentist for the last 9 years. He and his staff are wonderful and so caring. He haa taken me from having severe periodontal disease and needing root canals, extractions and implants to healthy teeth and mouth. He is my dentist...no matter where I live. Just spent 1.5 hour for an initial visit only to be told they will not do my regular cleaning because of my periodontal disease. I've been told I have receding gum line before but never to the point where I was denied a cleaning, nor have I heard a regular cleaning is contraindicated in this situation. I'm 34 and dentist here just told me I'm the second picture on the five stages of this disease. (The first is perfectly healthy.) The reason I'm very upset is it really felt like they were pushing really hard to sell the treatment plan. They took a long time between each person and eventually they showed me the prices. I had already said no. So once I said no to the treatment they said sorry we can't do your cleaning. At which point I was like really??? Okay I guess I'm done today and left. WOW read more

They do not have sufficient staff. I had multiple visits where I never saw the dentist but was billed for his services. I ordered a retainer and never got a call that it had arrived, after several months. Therefore, I changed dentists and eventually moved out of state. The people are kind, but the billing is inconsistent and disorganized. They sent me several bills I had already paid through insurance for months and also sent me to collections. Only after calling and calling for months, plus going into the office in-person to complain, did they finally resolve the insurance issue. During the process, no one at the office took responsibility to resolve the issue - I had to be very persistent for anyone to listen to my situation. And almost every time I called, no one knew why this was happening on my account and I had to re-explain the whole situation to a new person. Only when I talked to a manager did anything finally get done - and even that took over a month. It was very disorganized and frustrating. People were kind for the most part, but the lack of accountability was very frustrating and simply not good customer service. read more

I see there's a lot of negative reviews for this place but they're kind of outdated now so let me give y'all my experience. I came here because my company was purchased and we had to switch plans. My normal dentist wasn't in network anymore but that only mattered for a second. I knew I was leaving said job, so I just wanted to use some benefits before I left and returned to my normal dentist. That's how I found this place. Everyone I encountered was very nice. The exam and xrays, then my cleaning was all very speedy. My cleaning was actually done by the actual dentist who did my exam. I was surprised by this because that's why they have hygienists and I actually inquired about that. She said that's what we get some times so I'm not sure if they were having staffing issues but that was a small red flag regardless. But didn't really effect me so I did not care. The only thing I was concerned about was that my previous dentist said I'd need a filling redone in the near future but this dentist didn't indicate that. Not even when I asked a second time if they were sure. This is also a good thing because you know they're not trying to squeeze all your pennies out haha. But concerning still because my normal dentist is a friend whom I trust. So based on my positive experience, I would recommend this location for anyone interested in seeing what it is about. I had a wonderful experience during my first office visit to Dr. Al-Gaissi's. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable about everything he does. Extremely respectful, polite, and welcoming. I felt right at home. Him and his staff went above and beyond and made sure I was comfortable with everything. They took their time explaining everything they did and the hygienist took her time cleaning my teeth and talking to me during it. I loved my experience. My wife and I are very dissatisfied with the service we received at HMD. Pros: the facility is nice and the equipment is state-of-the art. The hygienists and x-ray techs are very nice and do a good job. My son had a small cavity needing a filling and they did a sufficient job. Cons: As mentioned in another review, the front desk staff will basically tell you whatever you want to hear to get you in the door, and then once you are there, it is a different story (usually involving a different price). The dentists seem young and inexperienced and reluctant to tell you if your problem is more than they can handle. I had to have an implant (done elsewhere) but HMD told me they could do the crown and that it would work with the implant system hardware that my Oral Surgeon was using. That was false - I spent the better part of a day going back and forth between my oral surgeon and HMD trying to get to the bottom of the story. Ultimately I found out that HMD's crown system was not the ideal solution for my needs and would have left me with a very ugly crown. I am glad I chose a different route. My wife's experiences have been the worst. She had a cracked crown that needed to be replaced. Instead the dentist filled it with a temporary and it only got worse. In the mean time, that dentist went on maternity leave and never came back. My wife was then assigned a different dentist who attempted several times to fix the issue without much success. Ultimately he ended up doing a horrible root canal procedure without enough sedative/anesthetic. They were supposed to put the crown on that day but they were too overbooked so she had to take off yet more time to come back a different day to have the crown placed. Now the tooth is infected again and she will probably have to have an Apicoectomy - and if that doesn't work the tooth will have to be removed completely! We are still trying to get the root-canal money back for all the pain and suffering my wife has had to go through. Overall the service has been less that stellar and the work less than acceptable. If you just need a cleaning or a small filling, they are probably okay for that. But if you need something more, you should look elsewhere for a more professional and established practice. read more

I would not recommend this place. I have filed a complaint with the State Board of Dental Examiners and they are currently under investigation. They have taken no responsibility for the terrible work they have done. I have decay under the crown they placed a year ago and the bridge they made never fit. The bridge came off several times and each time I had to pay them to put it back on. Finally, they made a new bridge, which they charged me for, and it still doesn't fit. It has come off again. I need a new bridge and I need another crown put on but my insurance will not pay again. So, now I am out all the money I paid and the money the insurance paid and I am back still needing the dental work done. read more

So, since moving to Texas, I've been here quite a few times for my dental care... Mainly because the place is really near my apt (I know...). Overall, I really liked the dentists here. The main dentist that took care of me was also the owner (or one of the owners), Dr. T (T for something long I can't pronounce lol). She was so nice, thorough and personable, although a slightly all over the place/ mentally occupied. I didn't really have a problem with the dental work though. The endodontist that was contracted there was excellent as well. I had to get 2 retreatments for previous endodontic work from years back :( but everything went well. Now, the front desk staff were strange and not friendly at all. The main guy at the front desk gave me a weird vibes every time I had to talk to him. He wasn't personable at all, and at times, pretty short. Just made me feel uncomfortable all around. Billing wise.. Hmm... Double check your insurance statements and keep a copy of everything the office hands you. I found some discrepancies between what my insurance sent vs what they charged me for. Office manager said she'll call me when it's fixed and it's been a few months and still nothing. Also, the front desk guy tried to charge me twice for the same procedure... I had to explain everything to him and the manager had talked to him before he would remove the extra charge. Idk if they're just disorganized here or maybe a bit behind in the billing department or just sketchy... But I don't want to stay tune to find out. So, even though I really liked the dentists here, I didn't like the front desk people or the billing process here. I Won't be back. Will now find a new dentist. read more

I see Dr. Baldwin and he seems to know what he's doing. The place is laid back and comfortable but he and the hygienist are very professional. I have been to see him for two reasons (besides cleanings): wisdom teeth extraction and issues concerning a filling/root canal I had about 10 years ago somewhere else. The wisdom teeth extraction when perfectly. There is an oral surgeon who comes in once a month and performs all of the procedures. Both my husband and I had these procedures without issue. The filling/root canal thing was addressed very professionally, and Dr. Baldwin told me to visit Dr. Loth on Camp Bowie to have my filling looked at. She ended up redoing the root canal. I still haven't seen Dr. Baldwin again to get my root canal area crowned back up but I plan to in the near future. read more

Hmm ... where do I start? I had an 8am appointment and although it was unusually crowded for such an early appointment, all was well. I was a first time patient so I had to do the typical "first time patient procedures". That went smooth. Then I had to complete the painstaking X-ray part which wasn't too bad either. The reason why I give this location only 2 stars is due to the primary dentist. HE was clearly uninterested and very rushed. He took a glance at my teeth, poked my gum and was done and was in a hurry to go to the next patient. I had no idea what to expect, or what would be next. I had to ask him questions ("does everything look ok") before he hurried out of the room. Overall, I will not be back. I felt like a number .. not a patient. I had all four wisdom teeth extracted on a Saturday at Hulen Modern Dentistry and it was an excellent experience! The office was recommended from my primary dentist for oral surgery and I could not be more happy with the outcome of my procedure. Tanya had amazing customer service and was a warm and friendly face the morning of my surgery. Dr. Yoo did an phenomenal job on my teeth! I was in and out within the hour and had minimal swelling, pain, and feel almost 100% again after just 6 days post - op. I highly recommend this place for getting wisdom teeth removed! Had a VERY EXPENSIVE crown done here in May of 2015. Moved out of state, 6 months later having pain, being told by dentist in current state that the tooth has significant decay under the crown. (FYI I brush all the time, floss, and use Act mouthwash). Telling me I need the crown removed, root canal, and a new crown. This was within 6 MONTHS. (End of Oct 2015) Hulen Modern Dentistry informed me in May when I got the crown with them that I did not need a root canal. It was a TON of money that has been wasted. VERY disappointing. I believe I have found a permanent dentist. I had an awesome experience and felt very cared about by all staff members. The staff valued me as a person. I also experienced one of the most painless cleanings ever. The person cleaning my teeth would even ask me throughout the cleaning how I was doing (pain wise). Throughout my appointment I was explained at all times what they were doing etc. I was never clueless of what was next or what was happening. I arrived about 5 minutes before my appointment time and didn't even have to wait for more than five minutes to be called in. My first experience at this office was not good at all, the dentist wasn't, in my opinion, a good dentist. That being said, when I went for my follow up to put on my permanent crown there was a new dentist! Obviously I wasnt the only one who had issues. The new dentist is Douglas Baldwin and he is AMAZING. Seriously, I have had major dental work done my entire life and this guy takes the cake! Today I had two crowns put on and they are perfect, beautiful, and im hardly in any pain. His office staff is wonderful, they remember you and treat you like an old friend. I loved my visit at Hulen Modern Dentistry. I chipped my tooth and called and they were able to squeeze me in within a couple of days. When I got there the office staff were very welcoming and warm. I was taken care of by Dr. Falah Algaissi and he did a great job! He made sure I was comfortable and took care of all of my concerns. I was in and out within the hour. I loved the service and treatment I got there. Truly a great atmosphere. Not to mention, they are very up to date with both their equipment and their techniques. Dr. Baldwin has been a great dentist since I began going to this practice. I have been through several dentists in the past 7-8 years who were absolutely incompetent. Dr. Baldwin has repaired all of the crowns that those dentists screwed up. I am far from an expert in dentistry but I can tell the difference between the old poorly fitting crowns and the ones I have now. When I floss, I can tell how much attention he and his assistants paid to making them fit perfectly. read more

I just called today to make a payment they said someone would call me right back two hours later I had to go up there. They said sorry we were busy and there is no one here! My root canal and crown cost me 2200. After speaking with many others that is ridiculously over priced. After my 2nd visit to get my crown I went to pay and a man took over 20 minutes to process my payment I finally just left without a receipt. Then I called to see why after I picked a crown that could be made that day I left with a temporary? They said someone should of told u but they did not, I tried to schedule the final and third crown appointment the lady told me no I had to wait for lab results? She says she will call me back that day and nothing. I call the next day and another says we don't do lab results are u sure? I said yes and she said she didn't know what I was talking about. I had gas during my visit it was held together with tape! Yes tape! I hear the dental assistant ask if was getting fixed she said its been like that for a year! I needed to be seen rather soon for a retreatment of a root canal. I was scheduled within a week to see a root canal specialist. Dr.Tountas did an amazing job, and was very helpful in keeping me informed and at ease. The dentist that saw me for my crown and fillings was awesome! The front staff and dental assistant were amazing the whole time. I absolutely loved my dental hygienist, Chandler! I am very satisfied overall! I just returned from Modern Dentistry on Hulen in Fort Worth. This was the worst cleaning that I've ever had. Rough, Clumsy, Unhygienic. The hygienist gouged my mouth with x-ray film, stabbed my gums with dental tools until they bled in some places, she polished ONLY in a few places between my teeth and proceeded to flossing. Flossing- I told her that I was done. She didn't clean my teeth with it, she pulled it down hard into my gums and then pulled it out. She repeatedly touched her face then put her hands in my mouth with gloves on. No, my mouth doesn't feel clean and fresh. I feel injured and abused. I left before I saw the dentist. read more

Back on 2/13/2012 I had just over $2000 worth of dental work done. Well, I called the office on 3/06/2012 to discuss getting another appointment scheduled, and at this time I was told by one of the ladies that work there (I believe her name is Jana) that I had a $250 credit. This of course was a surprise to me. Jana goes on to tell me that the credit is from something called build up, which was a service which the dentist did not render to me. So naturally this did upset me, I was told I had to speak with the office manager Kerry, about getting my money back. When I spoke with Kerry he did agree with Jana I was charged for services not rendered. When speaking with Terry, his tone was very unpleasant, and he sounded as if I was inconveniencing him, by asking for MY MONEY back, as if I had no right to ask for MY MONEY back. I then asked why I had not been informed of the credit and that it was almost a month since I had been into the office. Basically what he said was it wasn't his fault and that, refunds usually don't show up for 30 days, and that he would've gotten around to it. He goes on to tell me that he had to talk to the dentist to make sure he didn't forget to charge me for a service. I spoke with Terry again later the same day and he then tells me the dentist can not remember if he rendered the services to me or not so the credit will be given and that it would take 7-14 days, I said fine. The next day (03/07/2012) I went into the office to speak directly with Kerry, at this time I just wanted something showing that I was due a refund and a receipt for my appointment on 2/13/2012 that shows the actual services that were rendered to me. When I asked Kerry for a receipt he words to me were, "I told you I was going to put the refund through", in a very snotty and rude voice. All I said to him is, I just want some type of proof. I have never experienced such rude customer service in my life, especially in a situation where the other party (Hulen Modern Dentistry) was in the wrong. As of today I have not received my refund, and I will be changing my dentist office just to avoid having to deal with the rude customer service I experienced with the office manager Kerry. read more

This place was clean, professional, efficient, and honest! I have only been once, but my visit was very pleasing. The doctor was kind and explained everything he was doing as he was doing it. He gave me an honest report (I was in for a second opinion) when he very easily could have told me I had more cavities like my other dentist did.
