I used Hullaway for my junk hauling. First, they don't work on Weekends. So don't schedule any junk hauling on the weekends. It does make things inconvenient. But I don't mind it. I like how they take breaks. Chad is the one who sets everything up. You text him photos of your junk, and he gives a quote. I thought the quote was competitive. Like other places, they quote on how much of their truck they fill. The junk guys came on time. They also give you a heads up when they're heading over. The truck they brought was like a big dump truck. They were good about throwing things in there. They did the job fast. They had great personalities, were professional, and did a great job. They are flexible if you need it. If you can't be at your home on the appointment date, you can set all your junk where they can reach it. And they'll come in and pick it up. After the job was over, they send you an invoice. You can add on tips to the workers to the final bill. Make sure to tip the workers! I loved my experienced with them. It was a FULL DUMPTRUCK. (Say what?!) * They swept debris and cleaned up after. My job ended up being bigger due to my own off estimate of how much junk I had. I ended up with having pretty much close to a full truck. The price I paid was still less than other companies I reached out to, which made me feel good to have some leftover cash to tip them. Fabulous experience! I spent months trying to find an affordable, reputable junk removal company to empty out my mother's entire house. Finally, I came to my senses and searched Yelp. I discovered Hullaway based on their wonderful reviews and reached out to them with a few questions. All of my questions were promptly answered and the price structure was clearly outlined along with an estimate of what my job would cost based on the items I listed. On the day of the pickup, they arrived on time and quickly got to work. I was a bit nervous that I would get emotional once they started removing everything from the home, but these guys were so respectful and took so much care with the house that those fears quickly dissipated. I loved that the guys really listened to me and remembered what I wanted them to remove and leave from room to room. I didn't have to follow them around or supervise them. If they found anything that looked valuable, they always asked if it was trash before throwing it away. They even found a laptop tucked under one of the sofas and one of my mom's rings and brought them to me which I really appreciated. I grossly underestimated the amount of stuff in the house and they never complained or made me feel uncomfortable. The entire experience, although it sucks to empty out a loved ones house after their demise, was made pleasant by Hullaway's friendly team. Even the fact that I didn't have to go through and empty out kitchen and bathroom cabinets was such a huge relief, they did it all themselves and really made my life so much easier. This was a totally stress-free experience, I really wish I had discovered them sooner. In the end, they were even able to remove about 95% of the stuff from the packed attic, which I never expected to accomplish on this one trip. To give you an idea of the scope of the work, Hullaway removed 3 full loads from the 3 bedroom house and they did it quickly and efficiently, within about 6 hours (including the numerous trips to the dump). I never felt cheated on the loads, I could tell that they tried to take advantage of every inch of space on their truck to save me money and I greatly appreciated that. I did the standard Yelp quoting and got a response right away from Chad at Hullaway. I moved out of an apartment at the beginning of the pandemic and left behind numerous pieces of furniture that didn't fit in my new house. The short: Awesome guys, quick responses & scheduling, great service & price. The longer: As an avid Yelper, I tend to check here before using any services. However, though I historically would have used the site for food and event spaces or maybe salons... I find myself branching out and using it for more home services now too. Who would have thought to use Yelp to find great Junk removal? A Uhaul or friend with a truck is cheap, but is your time? The closest Dekalb dump is 45 minutes away from me and I can leave things on the curb due to HOA restrictions. With ads littering google for "1 800 got junk" but me seeing nothing but terrible reviews and people who can't give you a quote in advance I thought, "huh... well why not give Yelp a try". I requested a quote and within an hour had about 10 responses from various vendors. Need I say that out of 10 vendors, Chad was the most prompt to respond and (now that Hullaway has come and gone I can easily add) most personable experience I had. I was trying to get rid of two couches today as I am having two more delivered this afternoon. I told him the couches would be by the door and ready to make for easy grabbing. He quickly worked with me on price and schedule for next day pick up. He arrived EXACTLY when he said he would with a 15 minute courtesy call in advance to let me know he was on time.
