The lovely ladies that guide you room by room through the house know the history and have great stories to tell. The house itself is stunning; having been beautifully restored to Victorian splendour, it's charmingly reflective of the way its former residents would have lived. But it's the docents who are the real stars here - they're a group of incredibly passionate, lovely people who take every group of visitors around to introduce them personally to both Avery House, and the history of Fort Collins as a city. We especially enjoyed being able to explore and ask questions about all the small details in the house, from the furnishings to the lifestyles and stories behind every item. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone living in, visiting or passing through Fort Collins for how it lets you take a great look at one of the most interesting portions of the city's past.

Taking a ride on this historic streetcar really makes you feel like you've traveled back in time…read more The journey takes you along the original route and down a street of Victorian style houses. The craftsmanship of the streetcar is a beautiful. The ride takes less than half an hour for the round trip. The conductors are a great source of information and are happy to share the history. The entire operation is run by volunteers. It's incredible what the team has done to restore the streetcar and how much effort goes into operating this historic attraction. For only $2 for an adult and $1 for a child - this is a cheap and unique treat!
