Anna Shelter

This is ridiculous how I see animals in the shelter with no cover over the heads left in the rain…read morewhen we showed up- I bought a cat that I was told was 4 years old and spayed yet 1 week in she came down with URI and vet stated I was given the wrong meds and he was surprised- ontop of this needing a shot that will now cost over $100 and mind you shes only been at our house 2 weeks- howling and acting like shes in heat- we get no sleep as this cat does not act or look 4 years old and all symptoms of in heat yet going to vet again today over the issue ! AND ANNA SHELTER NEVER ANSWERS THAT DAMN PHONE!!!! Extremely POOR customer service and I will never go back there.

I'm going to share with you a few pet adventures I've had over the last 6 or so years and if you…read moremake it to the end, I'll tell you what all of the tales have in common. -There was the time that my late cat Paddy had to have a few extractions and when I picked him up from the clinic I was told that one of his teeth shattered but, since there was no x-ray machine on the premises, they had to guess if they got all of the fragments out. Surprise: they didn't. Fortunately my aunt started a GoFundMe to raise the $1,000 needed to fix the damage that was caused (which of course was done by another veterinarian's office). - When I adopted my late cat Sadie, I was told that she was in perfect health for a senior cat, she just needed a dental cleaning. So I took her into the clinic and after a volunteer (not a tech, a volunteer) traumatized Sadie to the point that she wet herself, the vet comes in, looks at Sadie's mouth and tells me "Oh, she's way beyond a cleaning. She needs to have her teeth pulled." I learned my lesson from the experience with Paddy, but still wasn't prepared to have to take a cat to immediately have all of her teeth pulled when I was told during the adoption process that it wasn't necessary. -My father adopted a cat for me that was a VERY handsome boy. No health issues I had to worry about. Fast forward 24 hours and he's vomiting blood. By the morning when I woke up, my apartment looked like a crime scene. My dad called the place he got the cat from and at first he was asked to keep him until they found a foster, he refused and they miraculously remembered that the cat has a bleeding ulcer, something never mentioned to him or on paperwork. -Saving the saddest, and most recent, for last: I was given a senior kitty for my birthday. He was brought to my door the day before my birthday on Friday, June 27th. His name was Lenny, he was 12 and he was buff colored. He had a smokers meow and I loved him right away. Other than him being a senior, no health issues were reported. There wasn't an FIV test done on him, which I found to be strange. Well, it didn't take long for me to notice the giant elephant in the room: Lenny was skin and bones and I couldn't get him to eat. He had a very hard swallow as well. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gotten him into a vet much sooner, but I thought that maybe it was just a matter of finding the right wet food. But none of it was right. I got him into the vet as soon as I could and they confirmed my worst fears. His belly was full of fluid making it hard for him to breathe, let alone eat. His hip bones and spine jutted out because of this. His body had been slowly shutting down the whole time he was with me. THERE WAS NO WAY THE PLACE I GOT HIM FROM DIDN'T KNOW THE SHAPE HE WAS IN. So, with a broken heart, because not long ago I just lost my Sadie girl and here I am doing this again for a poor boy that was so sick yet overlooked, I gave him a kiss and held him when he slipped away. So what do these stories have in common? Every single one of these were courtesy of The Anna Shelter and/or their clinic next door. I'm not telling anyone what to do or who to support when it comes to adopting animals. I'm only talking about MY experiences. I'm talking about MY broken heart. I'm someone that was raised to love animals, and I do. I love them enough to never, ever, entrust any animal with them again. Whether it be a stray in need or someone asking me where they should adopt from or donate, I will *never* have anything to do with that shelter again. In memory of Paddy, Sadie, Lenny and every other pet owned by anyone that was hurt, ignored while in pain, handled roughly by people that shouldn't even be handling pets in a medical setting, from all of us against declawing, here is a hearty GOOD BYE.

Glenwood Pet Hospital - 9 th week

Glenwood Pet Hospital

When I was making an appointment for a sick pet, I was asked about vaccinations. I stated that I…read moredon't get vaccinations for my geriatric pets. I was then told by front desk staff "we won't lay a hand on your pet without them being vaccinated". Very rude and unprofessional during a difficult and uncertain time with a sick pet.

I am furious with the grooming service at Glenwood Pet Hospital! I would give them a negative 100,…read moreif I could! I've brought both my cat and dog here for shots and wellness exams. While I was not overly impressed (they once messed up an appointment and didn't apologize or take responsibility and the Vet pointed out that I was "cost conscious" making me feel bad - I mean, who isn't cost conscious?), I decided to give their grooming service a try since I wasn't happy with my old groomer either. HUGE mistake. The groomer I spoke with today was not the same person I'd met when I originally made the appointment. She seemed very young and inexperienced -- I should have trusted my instincts. I even showed her a photo and made it clear I wanted a cut that would last about three months. She suggested a "short, soft" look. My dog had absolutely NO matting, so there was no reason to shave her. Yet that's exactly what they did: a total, all-over shave. This is not a "style" -- it's proof that the groomer lacked the skills to deliver what I asked for. It is lazy, careless, and unacceptable. I am absolutely livid. Terrible service. Completely incompetent. BEWARE: Do not bring your dog here for grooming.

PLEASEEE READ LOWEST REVIEWS FIRST! Save your fur baby and yourself the pain AND DO NOT GO HERE if…read moreyou care about your pet! If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would! This place is worse than bad from the pet service to the customer service! My heart is literally broken that I didn't read the reviews because the SAME GROOMER who messed all these dogs up in these reviews and went against the owner's wishes, did the same to mine as well. I have been in tears since I left Paws & Claws on Wednesday. I have a GIRL shih tzu that I was VERY, VERY SPECIFIC when I went in to NOT CUT HER HAIR. I even asked the front desk man to get the groomer so I could explain to her personally, and pointed out to both of them that she has black tips that if they're cut will never grow back because the roots are tan.) I explained specifically to the groomer DO NOT TOUCH A STRAND of her hair with a tan root, and that I just wanted her hair TIED* BACK* WITH A BOW, NOOOO CUTTING. When I came to get my dog, no bow, and HER WHOLE FACE AND HEAD IS CUT!!! She looks like a boy. Her forehead had beautiful long hair with black tips- GONE FOREVER, against everything I said. The name of the groomer who ruined my dog is Korrine but spelled differently like Carryn or something. KEEP YOUR DOG FAR FROM HER! She literally looked me in my eyes, nodded her head, and agreed the whole time I was talking and explaining to NOT CUT MY PUPPY'S HAIR to then take my Princess back and VIOLATE HER AND I !!!! FOREVER! My dogs black tips are gone forever, and I pretty much paid $100 to cry myself to sleep. When I called the manager in tears, and explained that if someone came up behind me and cut my hair with some scissors they'd be in JAIL, the manager actually said "well you'd be in jail too, because you'd probably fruitpunch on them." GLAD you comprehend! So, if someone were come in and fruitpunch on Corryn or cut her hair against her will like she did my dog, there's some understanding there. My heart is literally broken, and it can NEVER be undone. It can't be fixed. They just took my money for the worst day of my dogs life, affecting her forever, because they genuinely do NOT CARE what the OWNER wants. They wouldn't even have the girl APOLOGIZE. They just do whatever they feel like doing with no remorse for anything your poor pup endures.. She had ONE instruction. Just one. And it wasn't followed. My poor Remi I'm still crying. I paid a lot of money for my dog and they ruined her beautiful coat I paid so much money for. If you google "shih tzu" and see the picture that comes up, the dogs head isn't all shaved, it's beautifully pulled back LIKE I SPECIFIEDDD AND PAIDDDDD FOR, I don't even know what would make her deliberately go against my orders and cut my dogs hair ! I'm baffled. This is like taking your daughter who is a hair model to a high rated salon to get her hair washed, explaining how much you treasure her long beautiful hair..then they cut it off and shave her eyebrows. I'm livid. A civil suit is being filed this morning. I've contacted them twice since, and not even an apology. No sympathy. No compassion. understanding. Very harsh, sick minded environment to think this is ok. :(

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT PETSMART. I have had issues with them in the past, and why on earth I…read moredecided to give them a second chance, I have no idea. I paid for a full groom ( a little over $50) for my small Yorkie., which is supposed to include his nails being cut. I was in a hurry when I picked him up, so I didn't notice that they had not been done. A few days later when he came walking up to me on the tile floor, I noticed his nails were laying SIDEWAYS on the floor, because they were so long! I called Petsmart and explained the situation, and a very nice person on the other end of the phone said - no problem, just bring him back up and we will do them for you. I couldn't go the day I called, and went a few days later. When I walked in, the girl who had groomed him was there. I again explained the situation and what I was told... and she instantly copped an attitude with me, insisted she did them and became very defensive and rude. I said "Listen, I don't appreciate the attitude you are giving me. I just explained to you what was told to me". She told me she would not do them - she refused - and then turned and spoke on behave of the other young employee standing there and said she refused to do them as well! Alrighty then!! I explained I paid for a service, and I expect to get what I paid for. She proceeded to call her manager, all the while being completely rude to me. When he entered the room he took the exact same attitude with me before he fully understood the situation. He said I needed to bring my dog on the day I called, and that too much time had gone by (it's been a week since I called). He instantly took to her defense and was very dismissive of me. I had said to both of them "look at his toes, they speak for themselves " to which they said they didn't need to look at them... because they were done. I said listen, this isn't my first rodeo... I've been getting my dog groomed for 14 years. I think I know when his nails have not been cut. To which this 22 yr old something snapped at me and said "I think I know what I've been doing, I've been grooming for years". Bottom line - Petsmart needs better management, and a better screening process for employees. I've have owned many businesses, and if I EVER witnessed one of my employees speaking to a customer the way this employee was speaking to me... I would have fired them on the spot - no questions asked. I will never spend a dollar in that store again... and not only have I had dogs groomed there for several years, I would buy my dog supplies there as well. If you are looking for grooming.... there are several local groomers who would love your business and treat you much better. That's how you keep customers!
