They should not keep your money from a deposit. Yesterday I went to get my cat spayed and I deposited 100.00 for 2 cats ($50 per cat) to scheduled an appointment. for Sally and Lucy. I only brought Lucy there and Sally ran away from me to go there. So, I am thinking about the $100 deposit should be credited towards my account. They charge me $180 for the package to do what is needed. I had to pay $130 instead of $80. They refused me to give $100 credit towards the service. I ask them if I bring Sally on another day, they told me no credit towards her. What can I do in this situation. I am thinking about dispute it and call my Bank about my debit card. read more

I have used Humanitarians of Florida many times for many animals to provide vaccinations, spay and neuter and microchipping. I have never had a problem. They are always professional and polite, and very sensible to my animals' needs. These people are always busy when I am in there and they always work very hard. I would hate to see our community without this service because we really need it and I hae a lot of appreciation for them. read more

I am furious that after having spent nearly $700 this year for my dog's illnesses my dog still isn't cured. Moreover, the public health is being endangered at this clinic as mask wearing isn't being mandated. I have spoken twice with the office manager and once with another manager regarding the clinic's refusal to impose a mask mandate in midst of a global pandemic. (My experience and observation is that clients are only required to wear masks inside when they are seeing the vet; even though management asserts social distancing is being enforced I have observed a lack of social distancing both inside and outside. While possibly unintentional this a public health hazard and is why mask wearing is critical. Florida is now the world epicenter for the COVUD 19 virus but wearing masks seem to be too much for some managers and younger employees. One manager and I disagree at what I was told at the time of my first discussion in this matter a couple of months ago. I stand by my recollection that I was told that all clients and employees would be wearing masks inside. Another manager insisted that masks can't be required without governmental mandate but my research and observations say otherwise. Exerting personal preferences when the COVID 19 virus is highy contagious is putting individual rights over group public health. With each right comes responsibilities. That a clinic charged with the health of our pet family leaves the public underprotected is unconscionable, especially considering that the risk of infection is drastically cut when all parties wear masks. In my opinion there is no leadership from the Board of Directors of Humanitarians. In fact, in my first review I apparently made a legal mistake for which I apologized and gladly changed the review. It is sad that I was immediately threatened with a law suit. I am now going to Crystal River Animal hospital were all individuals are wearing masks. There are also glass shields at the front desk. Moreover, I learned that my dog has an enlarged prostrate which may be contributing to repeated UTIs. This was missed by the vet even after numerous visits. Hundreds of dollars later I hope my baby will be cured. I question the clinic's competence so I wouldn't go there if only for that reason alone. Please support my cause by boycotting businesses that don't require masks. Your life, that of your loved ones, and the essential and healthcare workers depend on it. (60,000 healthcare workers nationwide have died during this pandemic.) We will never return to normal if universal mask wearing by the public isn't embraced. read more

4/6/2022 (Manager tries to have me remove bad review) I went back to the humanitarians for the return visit for my cat's ear infection. Everything was going great until the veterinarian Mr. William Smith came out to my car. He was again very rude and non-understanding of how I would like to simply treat my cat's ear infection with medication/shots until he passes away peacefully from cancer in his ear canal. Thankfully the vet technician helped explain that we could possibly come in monthly for checkups on his ear. After getting my cat back, it was time to pay; as I was walking inside and about to be checkout, the practicing manager, Audi takes me into an exam room and gives me an ultimatum of removing my 'bad' google review or never coming back. Very strange to confront paying customers and have an honest review removed. The practicing manager Audi did absolutely nothing to see what had happened for me to leave a 1-star review. She didn't ask if there were anything that she could do to help make my experience better. Nada. However, she only demanded that I remove the review or find a new vet. Again I would strongly recommend using one of the better vets in the county and not one, as Audi said, "run by mostly volunteers." read more

Wonderful veterinary service. I didn't even need an appointment for a rabies vaccination for my dog. You don't need an appointment for preventative care either! The wait time was short and staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about my pets needs. We will definitely be using this vet clinic from now on! My dog seemed to like them too! read more

If you have low self esteem and am ready for a good dose of abuse from MANY people in one place, this is your place! I have never had an experience with so many rude, heartless people. I can only assume they are short staffed or have a jerk to answer to because you can count on them taking it out on you. From the person at the front desk who ignores you for a good long time with no acknowledgement that you are even there (if you're busy ok, i get it but at least say hello) to the woman with ice flowing through her veins who basically calls you a liar due to a problem ON THEIR END and who decides to take it upon herself to tell you that SHE is going to name the foster animal that you loved and cared for for 9 weeks (said she: because YOU are giving it up) when I tried to name it (a tad insensitive). THEN while I was trying to iron out the mistake on their end a rather large man who may have been a vet tech RUDLY barked at me (no excuse me even though I was clearly in a conversation) and harshly told to reel my dog in (how hard is it to ask nicely?) and the worst part was the phone conversation I had with a vet technician who wasn't LISTENING CLEARLY to what i was asking, was EXREMELY impatient as I was trying to clarify what she was saying and CONTINUED NOT to answer my question because she wasn't listening (she thought she was listening). She finally erupted and told me to come in and she would have a print out but if she had just LISTENED the conversation WITHOUT THE CONSTANT INTERRUPTION (WHICH SHE DENIED) would have been over with. It was just awful then at the end when i wanted to say goodbye to the babies I LOVED and cared for and invested in for almost 9 weeks, good ol' ice bucket told me I wasn't allowed. NO HEART, NO COMPASSION. To top it off, they were all murmuring about me saying that covid had me so stressed they were SO CLUELESS that it was THEIR TREATMENT OF ME that had me stressed. They were TOO BUSY to see how each of the other ones interacted with the babies human parents and how that made US feel. Do yourself a favor, take up a collection and go to a vet where they care about YOU because it's not happening here! It used to be a nice place years ago. I absolutely loved the way they handled myself and my fur baby, Marley. Lisa at the front desk was very helpful all the way back to making the appointment and answering all of my million questions to being there when I picked up my kitty from being spayed and all of her shots. You can barely see where any work was done. It looks fantastic. I heard a lot of people coming in, you know, something could be said for being kind. No matter how these people that came in talked to them, they were always kind. I was on the fence as to who to trust Marley with. I am glad I chose them. read more

I have had good experiences here with my feral cats. Once when something was overlooked they made up for it the next day at no charge. Front desk is not as accommodating as ladies in the back so Always get the name of the person who made your appointment. They have gone out of their way to get one of my hard to trap ferals taken care of on Very short notice. read more

Ali is a terrible receptionist she does not care at all about dogs I explained how sick my dog was and she didn't even take my number to fit me in or if a cancellation came up I had to call back and insist that she takes my number my dog has blood in her stool and they didn't even care to try and fit me in all they said was they can't get me in for over a week and that was it she was extremely rude not comforting and had no idea how to run a front desk this place has no compassion for animals this is the second time I've dealt with this place I thought after my first bad experience that I would try and give it another chance but the first time I went in the reception it was so extremely rude I couldn't hardly stand to be in the same room with her and now I'm having a problem again over the phone this is a place you definitely want to avoid they have no care for animals and are just all about the money read more

Avoid this place. They were so rude to my wife she came home in tears. The vet Eric Blew up on my wife telling her to get out because they accused her of saying they aren't a real vet which she never said. My wife made an appointment and drove 30 minutes away from our home after work and waited for 45 minutes in the vets office only to be turned away. They tried to force her to take additional services she did not want... She only wanted to do what she made the appointment for. I have always been a HUGE supporter of Humanitarians of Florida, so it hurts my heart to write this review, but I am appalled at what I went through and at the veterinary negligence during my last 2 visits. Dr. Tikey always took excellent care of us, but the new vet, Dr. Smith, will never care for my beloved pets again. I took my pup in for blood work on a Tuesday. I missed one call from Dr. Smith about the results while I was at work Wednesday morning, but I called back half an hour later and was told he was with a patient and that a message would be left for him to call me back. I never got a call back, so I continued to call on Thursday and Friday. Humanitarians closes at 4:00 on Friday and he finally called me back at 4:05 Friday afternoon to tell me that her blood work showed critically elevated liver levels and that she had medications waiting for her at the front desk since Wednesday and that I should have picked them up. I let him know that no one told me she had meds waiting. He claimed that he left me 2 voicemail, spent an unnecessary amount of time and energy arguing with me about it, and was quite defensive. 1) I only missed 1 call from him, not 2 and 2) when I don't answer my phone it says "I'm sorry, you have reached a voice mailbox that has not been set up yet" and hangs up, so he could not have left me any voicemails, but he argued that my voicemail is set up (?) and that he did and that I can ask his boss who was standing right there when he left them... I don't know who he left 2 voicemails with, but it certainly was not me. So because he did not call me until after the end of business on Friday, she went all weekend without the meds he said she desperately needed. I went to pick them up on Monday and there were no meds waiting for us at the front desk. In fact, he didn't even make any notes in her chart about any meds so no one there had any idea what I was talking about and I was there for an hour while they tried to figure it out. When they did figure out what meds she needed they told me that medication was on backorder and that they didn't even think there was any in stock. Her blood work indicated dangerously high ATP levels that required immediate medication. That he only attempted to call me one time before waiting until after closing on Friday to contact me was negligent. It is apparent that he completely dropped the ball and forgot to follow up on my pup and lying/attempting to place the blame on me instead of taking responsibility is absolutely unacceptable. read more
